20 Then he went home, and the crowd gathered again, so that they could not even eat.
21 And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for they were saying, “He is out of his mind.”
22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and “by the prince of demons he casts out the demons.” 23 And he called them to him and said to them in parables, “How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. 26 And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end. 27 But no one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house.
28 “Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter, 29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”— 30 for they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.”
Families. They get a certain look. The story picks up momentum. "Remember That Time..."
Fist fights might occur. Or the general malaise of the slow unwind. Especially if life gets very, very, very unyielding.
Wonky. Funky. Sick. Unbending. If the horrors occur.
Jesus has lived this time with all the peeps in the wagon. Dire times.
We all have encountered this.
Jesus let the rivers of life roll on by. He expressed with one sentence His emotion of disappointment. And He said, "Those who do the will of God are My Family." And He did not fill up reams of Scripture with "Well, I never" and "and you'd think after all the years I did for them."
Jesus played far more unusually than the River hand of Poker. Jesus expected to fulfill His purpose to Father God, have today to live for and with God, do His all and expect the Goodness of God to prevail.
In fact, I would betcha, Jesus has Heavenly seats for the Mother, Brothers and sisters. Because Jesus was willing to see the good - this errant family of HIS - was doing their best with their abilities for Jesus. Certainly, this was embarrassing to God. And what was more important to Jesus, was this would work out.
Jesus believed All Things Word Together for Good for those who Love the Lord. Jesus was going to wait, believing this would upward weave for Good rejoicing God.
In expectation of God and Love, there was no way the dark was going to overcome Love. Dark was on the way out. Just a matter of time when the Light of mankind was finding paths of Jesus Love.
Does this apply to us? Faith says if you believe this - Yes.
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father."
Jesus tells us in several places that life is Joy to Jesus. Peter says Jesus has the Words of Life. Jesus is going to take Today and make Today good with walking with Father God. Using all the sufficiency of God to find God to walk with.
We can't do this all the time. Jesus had times He felt like weeping or telling the women of Jerusalem that lamentation was coming their way. Jesus believes the Shining Water leads to the Throne of God. Even on the days this doesn't seem possible.
How many people stepped up to rescue the Son of God? These rude people did.
In all circumstances, let us abide in Father God to see How He works all things to Good.
I lift up my mother - non-responsive - on oxygen - pneumonia - as her family arrives in the city were we were all born. Help us to help one another. Please be merciful to my mother.
My thanks for my arm meds for my benign arm surgery.
Jesus for us All. Thank God. Amen.
