1 John 1 ~ from the Beginning

1 John 1

That which was from the beginning,
which we have heard,
which we have seen with our eyes,
which we looked upon and have touched with our hands,
concerning The Word of Life—

2 The life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us— 3 that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you

So that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.

4 And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.

5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you,
 that God is light,
and in him is no darkness at all.

6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

John's Gospel in 2015 ~ fragment 2 x 3.5" was considered to be First Century.
There are at least four methods for determining the dates of ancient manuscripts:

radiocarbon (carbon-14) testing of the manuscript
palaeography (handwriting analysis) of the manuscript
analysis of the archaeological context surrounding the manuscript
comparison of the manuscript with associated writings

As Peter Williams points out, 1-2 will not help researchers reach a date as precise as AD 80 or 90. That leaves 3-4.

But even this makes it difficult to reach a certain conclusion. Williams explains a best-case scenario:

If for convenience we suppose that [1] other manuscripts in the mask are ones with dates that survive (remembering that for a majority of texts no date survives) and [2] that the mask luckily enough contains four texts with firm date formulae (which would be really nice, but quite unlikely) and that these date formulae show manuscripts from the years 50, 60, 70 and 80, [then] that would still not mean that they could not be put together with a manuscript from considerably later than the year 90 to make a mummy mask.

The double negative in the last clause is a little confusing. Williams means that even if conditions were ideal, it still wouldn’t preclude the fragment itself from being later than the other fragments surrounding it. The other possibility, of course, is that somehow the archaeological context itself would date the mummy mask to a specific decade, though this would be unusual.

How should we respond to something like this?

I think it’s appropriate to be hopeful.
As an evangelical, I believe the best historical evidence points to the New Testament gospels composed in the first century: Mark (mid- to late 50s), Matthew (50s or 60s), Luke (c. 58-60), John (mid- or late 80s or early 90s). If this discovery doesn’t pan out, it doesn’t affect our dating of the gospels because the dating of the autographs (the originals) is not dependent upon the dating of manuscripts (the copies). If it does pan out—especially if it can be dated with confidence to the 80s—it would be a major discovery, because the oldest of anything is always noteworthy.

Justin Taylor, 2015

We stand on a Foundation of Jesus Christ. And the rest is lovely, but the Center is Jesus Christ.

There is simply too much archaeology to not have Enjoyment and Faith and Hope. Vastly Interesting. With History and recognized Historians. This is just Joy.

Look! John's Gospel and John's Later Books support each other. Here's your sign!

Why would John, as a human being, want to walk with Jesus. Peter proclaimed himself to be a sinner and hoped Jesus would move along. John tells us we can look forward to - - His Joy, Our Joy making Complete Joy.

Knowing no one is without sin. Jesus tells us God alone is Good. Jesus both delighted in mankind seeing into hearts and Jesus says He did not entrust Himself into mankind. Making the Word of God about our Father God. And for us to please and approach God boldly and with confidence, we believe God makes us Clean in Jesus and in His Righteousness.

John looks Up.
This is the path from Patmos village near the sea, leading uphill to the Cave John lived in overlooking the Ocean and the island. John's life is the longest, going into the 2nd Century and John's Books look upon a life of Walking with Jesus and finding John's thoughts on a long life John has been given. John delights on into the Second Century on God's Love and Joy.

John condensed all of John's Gospels and Books into writing, "God is Love."

Proverbs 8 tells us in the Beginning, The Father Delighted in His Son, His Son delighted in The Father and the Son delighted in His Father's Master Workmanship, knowing Jesus would arrive here to have Joy doing the Good Works God would Give Jesus to Do. The Father didn't send a young boy to cope as Messiah. The One of Father and Son created Complete Joy in the Works of Jesus and His Joy.

John's Cave did not have neon signs and Oaks of Mamre.
John's cave might have been difficult to find in the middle of a sheep field. Just as the early years of Jesus were not told. Jesus delighted in the Master Workmanship and in these years of Jesus growing up, the obscure years of early childhood and manhood - we do know the Beginning - Jesus was having Fellowship with God. Joy of being One with God. Jesus was living and walking with God in His Light.

The Ministry of Jesus reflects all Jesus has thought about and learned about God. The Son of God did not spring up like 2 minute popcorn from the microwave.  Nazareth childhood to Adult Capernaum: We read God's Chapters and find a depth to the Living Word of God and we will never run dry from Living Water of Jesus Christ. Jesus is Manifestly Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow the Living Word of God.

The Oneness of Jesus, The Light of the World, The Light of mankind - as a Child enjoyed children and childhood. The God of All did not rush through childhood to prepare. Jesus tells us Life is Joy. John 14, 15, 16 and 17. Before Abraham, Jesus existed. For a Life of Complete Joy, Jesus never brushed away children. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.

Hens lovingly care for their babies and their eggs.

Just as the Oneness of Jesus in Fellowship with His Father prepares Him to walk in the Joy of Life. And Prepares Jesus for the Works God has made for Him.

Abba, Father God,

You have Blessed us - in this time of uncertainty - for this illness is not to hurt the young.

In every age of mankind, we can point to virtues in the age.
Today, we can rejoice in the Love You have for not just the children being loved, we can rejoice in the goodness of the Parents to Love their Child. And find Light in the darkness of sorting out Covid 19.

John's long life recognized the Complete Joy of Jesus. Jesus told us to look! Brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4.

Psalm 36:7
7 How precious is your steadfast love, O God!
The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

Psalm 57:1
A Miktam of David, when he fled from Saul, in the cave.
Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me,
for in you my soul takes refuge;
in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge,
till the storms of destruction pass by.

Psalm 63:7
For you have been my help,
and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy.

Matthew 23:37ab
How often would I have gathered your children together
as a hen gathers her brood under her wings

Psalm 91:4
He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.

We would ask You, Father of All, calling the Heavenly Host by name.

We would ask in the Name of Jesus, to cover this Good Creation with Your Love.

Healing us all from Covid 19 and Safety.

Our Father God Blessing us privilege, in Jesus, to ask more Heaven on earth.

Bless You for Your Mercy.

Asking Your Help to

Psalm 143 ~ give Ear to my pleas for Mercy †

What an odd Lent this has been. Covid 19 news and discussions. Tornadoes. Political changes.

Out in public listening to a young woman weep about Covid 19. People worry. Lent is a time people consider tougher aspects of life. Coincidentally - the news is a tougher part of life right now.

This was very sad.

It's not a flu. But certainly not a plague. 96% of even the younger people who get this will recover. It's a rough illness. Like Basketball says watch the hips, we are seeing numbers increase. And an incredible, high number of people Fully Recover. The number of states increase to 34.  And the statistics are unusual. Small children don't register as dying very much, nor 20's.  70 to 80 year olds are at greater risk https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/31994742. Unless you have diabetes or a heart condition or a terrible underlying health condition, or you smoke, or you are over 70 or 80 years old - then the mortality rate is goes up World Health Organization.

Watching the New York subway employees sanitizing the subway, made me think gloves were more important than masks in this illness. They cleaned everything and there was no report non-mask wearing employees got to be ill.

We are using our time to still go out. Even with Edward having an underlying serious health condition. But we are limiting where he goes. And instead of watching the news float to the No Big Deal to one report of the Sky Falling and the Nation falling into total disarray (any one who fear mongers like that needs to look at Orson Wells War of the Worlds radio broadcast again).

And instead of looking at how vast the news reports differ - we are Praying, taking vitamins, my family has decided hand sanitizer isn't so humorous and we are washing our hands as well,  getting enough sleep and we bought house paint and we are painting our kitchen. Who knows, we might really go wild and paint inside the garage. Our next door neighbors just redid their wooden fence. Easter is coming. Summer is going to arrive.

Psalm 143

A Psalm of David.

Hear my prayer, O Lord;
give ear to my pleas for mercy!
In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness!

2 Enter not into judgment with your servant,
for no one living is righteous before you.

3 For the enemy has pursued my soul;
he has crushed my life to the ground;
he has made me sit in darkness like those long dead.
4 Therefore my spirit faints within me;
my heart within me is appalled.

5 I remember the days of old;
I meditate on all that you have done;
I ponder the work of your hands.
6 I stretch out my hands to you;
my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah

7 Answer me quickly, O Lord!
My spirit fails!
Hide not your face from me,
lest I be like those who go down to the pit.
8 Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,
for in you I trust.
Make me know the way I should go,
for to you I lift up my soul.

9 Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord!
I have fled to you for refuge.

10 Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God!

Let your good Spirit lead me
on level ground!

11 For your name's sake, O Lord, preserve my life!

In your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble!
12 And in your steadfast love you will cut off my enemies,
and you will destroy all the adversaries of my soul,
for I am your servant.

When Jesus started His Ministry, He began where He saw the Need for Living Water immediately. Jesus tacked the rough part, first thing. Based on the fact you don't usually see people cry in public loudly from news report fears. I think Jesus would start there.

Hear my prayer, O Lord;
give ear to my pleas for mercy!
In your faithfulness answer me, in Your Righteousness!

The Pew Report said in the last few years, the USA prays as much as the natural disaster seen in the people of the Philippines and in Ethiopia. We pray. We saw in 2010,  The BP Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico - had the unheard of phenomena the oil was reabsorbed.  Alaska wishes this would have happened there too.

I believe we will be praying. All of us. In the Name of Jesus.

Let's Skip More Fear Mongering on the National News.

Fear.

For the enemy has pursued my soul;
he has crushed my life to the ground;
he has made me sit in darkness like those long dead.
4 Therefore my spirit faints within me;
my heart within me is appalled.

The New Covenant states we will only die in our sins. Jeremiah was telling "Good News." The New Covenant is the price Jesus has Paid in Full. We are not going to be punished for the sins of the genealogy line Moses and God discussed. The Wrath of God is not about to come out at you for what occurred in History Books. In fact, Passover which was the time where Jesus was killed to avoid dying on Passover was about being passed by for horrible circumstance. To be blessed to have faith in the middle of horrid worries for real circumstance. (Even in Haiti.)

Do we want to die in our sins?
No. Do we need to. No. This is The Good News.
If we believe in our hearts and call on Jesus we will be saved.

Isaiah 40:1-14

Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.

2 Speak tenderly to Jerusalem,
and cry to her
that her warfare is ended,
that her iniquity is pardoned,
that she has received from the Lord's hand
double for all her sins.

3 A voice cries:
“In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord;
make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be lifted up,
and every mountain and hill be made low;
the uneven ground shall become level,
and the rough places a plain.

5 And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed,
and all flesh shall see it together,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

6 A voice says, “Cry!”
And I said, “What shall I cry?”

All flesh is grass,
and all its beauty is like the flower of the field.
7 The grass withers, the flower fades
when the breath of the Lord blows on it;
surely the people are grass.
8 The grass withers, the flower fades,
but the word of our God will stand forever.

9 Go on up to a high mountain,
O Zion, herald of good news;
lift up your voice with strength,
O Jerusalem, herald of good news;
lift it up, fear not;
say to the cities of Judah,
“Behold your God!”

10 Behold, the Lord God comes with might,
and his arm rules for him;
behold, his reward is with him,
and his recompense before him.

11 He will tend his flock like a shepherd;
he will gather the lambs in his arms;
he will carry them in his bosom,
and gently lead those that are with young.

12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand
and marked off the heavens with a span,
enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure
and weighed the mountains in scales
and the hills in a balance?

13 Who has measured the Spirit of the Lord,
or what man shows him his counsel?
14 Whom did he consult,
and who made him understand

Jesus has been God's Manifest Word since Genesis 1. And when Jesus arrived for Ministry, He started in Capernaum. No one had forgotten all the shepherds who had seen The Heavenly Host. The Gospels tell us Jesus grew up seen as Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man. No one has the entire town show up of about 3,000 people. Unless Gabriel announces this in the Messiah in The Temple.

After Jesus healed Peter's mother in law, the town brought anyone they could find for Jesus to heal. Elijah didn't have this happen in a day. Elijah had to wait 3 years for this. Jesus arrived the first day.

Several times in the Gospels, we are told, "Jesus healed them all." Remember when Jesus had a man lowered through the ceiling to be healed of paralysis.

The point being this - we know Jesus healed a "Miraculous and Tremendous Number of People". God planned for Jesus to arrive when the world knew all types of illness. We could name: Fever, blindness, deafness, blindness healing in exactly the way brain injury would cause blindness. Leprosy, mute. Jesus even healed the dead on several occasions. God Chose to Arrive During a Time we know thousands lined the streets hoping to even touch Jesus. God does not shun illness. Brokenness in a temporary world causes illness. Also, Psalm 116 assures us Jesus is part of life
even to the end of this life and the visible beginning of His Kingdom to us.

We can be sure Jesus did not sneer at the culture for illnesses. Instead, Jesus did chide the people for wanting miracles sometimes - like bread. Yet Jesus said this life is Joy to Jesus. And Jesus also said when He looks at His people - Jesus wants to save the Whole World. And Jesus has Compassion on His People for being lost like Sheep.

Psalm 145:8-17

8 The Lord is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
9 The Lord is good to all,
and his mercy is over all that he has made.

10 All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord,
and all your saints shall bless you!
11 They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom
and tell of your power,
12 to make known to the children of man your mighty deeds,
and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and your dominion endures throughout all generations.

[The Lord is faithful in all his words
and kind in all his works.]
14 The Lord upholds all who are falling
and raises up all who are bowed down.
15 The eyes of all look to you,
and you give them their food in due season.

16 You open your hand;
you satisfy the desire of every living thing.

17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways
and kind in all his works.

Numbers 6:22-27 ~ Jesus

Numbers 6:22-27

22 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
23 “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying,

Thus you shall bless the people of Israel: you shall say to them:

24 The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

27 “So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.”

That the word of God alone is our standard of judgment in spiritual things; that it can be explained only by the Holy Spirit; and that in our day, as well as in former times, he is the teacher of his people.
- George Müller

Saved 10,024 orphans during his lifetime. Retired at age 70 and then worked again another 17 years. In times of stress, in great need, in busy times, George Müller had a specific prayer, among many. George Müller would say, "Please Jesus." Usually Jesus provided!

Abba,

May Jesus Himself be our encouragement, Hope. May Jesus give us the ability to Place God Himself and His Kingdom first. And please Him to live lives of Love, Peace and Joy.

May the Name of Jesus encourage us all our days in the Holy Spirit living in our souls. May Jesus fill and encourage those we Love. Jesus to fill and help the people You have given us.

Blessing the Nation Trusting in Him. Surrounding all Nations asking Jesus for His help in these news filled days.

And in Jesus we are Blessed. Amen!

John 17:6-26 ~ The love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them

John 11:40
Jesus said to her, "Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?"

John 17:6-26

6 “I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7 Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you. 8 For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me.

9 I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. 10 All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them.

11 And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one.

12 While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

13 But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.

20 “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.

24 Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me.

26 I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

This is the Love Father God has placed in Jesus as His exact Nature.

And when we want God's Love, we have this in us:

Luke 6:38
Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.

When we know God's Road to Emmaus warms our hearts, Father God guide and lead us.

John 7:38
Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said,
‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”

Abba,

Jesus and His Holy Name please cover us.

The Blessing of God's Love in Jesus. Help us to Put You first and the Kingdom of Heaven, to live a life of Love, Peace and Joy. To Bless the people You have given us. Help our Loved ones thrive in You, Jesus.

Amen in Jesus Christ, always. Amen.

The Lord Jesus bless and cover those who have asked for prayer.
His Love and Mercy be upon us. Amen.

Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
