Isaiah 25:1-9 Behold, this is our God

Isaiah 25:1-9

O LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for You have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure.

2 For You have made the city a heap, the fortified city a ruin; the foreigners' palace is a city no more; it will never be rebuilt.

3 Therefore strong peoples will glorify you; cities of ruthless nations will fear you.

4 For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat; for the breath of the ruthless is like a storm against a wall, 5 like heat in a dry place. You subdue the noise of the foreigners; as heat by the shade of a cloud, so the song of the ruthless is put down.

6 On this mountain the LORD of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine, of rich food full of marrow, of aged wine well refined.

7 And he will swallow up on this mountain the covering that is cast over all peoples, the veil that is spread over all nations.

8 He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the LORD has spoken.

9 It will be said on that day, "Behold, this is our God;
we have waited for Him, that He might save us.
This is the LORD; we have waited for Him;
let us be glad and rejoice in His salvation."

Isaiah's Day has Arrived

Isaiah waited past three kings of Judah to be heard. Isaiah knew about waiting.  According to Isaiah's list of kings of Judah, his ministry would be 64 years.

Isaiah's Seal

Psalm 27:14

 Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord!

 Lamentations 3:25

The Lord is good to those who wait for Him,
to the soul who seeks Him.

 Isaiah 40:31

They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
 they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.

how?

We are in a season of waiting, all of us.
To list out the possibilities isn't enticing. But we are hoping. Hopeful.

What are we going to do in the waiting. The anger of mankind does not produce the righteousness of God.  Frustration is a bitter feeling.  Pretense will not be sustainable. Being stuck under a dark cloud isn't going to help us feel relief.  Explain, and move on. Search for the idea that is uplifting. Basically, the idea has to be your own idea, found in God's Word. The words striking a fire, bringing us to, "Rise Up", as Jesus said.

 1 Peter 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
According to His great mercy,
He has caused us to be born again to a living hope
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead

Consider hope from far away. Jesus not bodily present, like the healing of Naaman.  Jesus was awed by the Roman Centurion, who said, only Your word is needed. Luke 7.

John 4:46-54

So He came again to Cana in Galilee, where He had made the water wine. And at Capernaum there was an official whose son was ill. 47 When this man heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went to Him and asked Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.

48 So Jesus said to him, “Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe.”

49 The official said to him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.”

50 Jesus said to him, “Go; your son will live.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went on his way. 51 As he was going down, his servants met him and told him that his son was recovering.

52 So he asked them the hour when he began to get better, and they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.” 53 The father knew that was the hour when Jesus had said to him, “Your son will live.” And he himself believed, and all his household.

Not bodily present, Days will come, as Jesus said.  Yet, the working of our Father and
 Jesus continue.

Matthew 10:8

Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons.
You received without paying; give without pay.

How will we do this? Like the woman who held on to the Robe of Jesus. With faith, and Jesus works His Joy and Love. Waiting, is of course, praying.

John 4:24
God is spirit, and those who worship Him
must worship in spirit and truth.

What's the next step if you are still stuck in some frustration? Time and Study.

2 Timothy 2:15
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

We hear the necessity of forgiveness and being right with God. Sure, for earnest reasons. Skip being fake with the Lord. If you are earnest and sincere, God says welcome to the open heart to the open gates of Heaven to speak with Him. An earnest need or conversation is welcome. No one is worthy of God's Glory. And Heaven's 12 Gates never close.

Psalm 51:12
Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and uphold me with a willing spirit.

Jabez and his blessing, has something in common with the Jewish dispersion:

Acts 17:11
Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica;
they received the word with
all eagerness,
examining the Scriptures daily
to see if these things were so.

Abba, Father,

This week, we have been blessed.
Father, You shelter us and surround us,
upholding us with new and inspiring blessings.
Thank You.

In seeing our blessings, we know
Your abiding Love and constant care.
Thank You.

This week, I have feel puny and had
some cold symptoms and upset stomach, help
strengthen me. I also ask for a friend
who is feeling weak and another friend with a prayer request.

Thank You for Your Love
and healing for my dog. He is much improved, greatly.
with profound ear infection. doing so much better.
We have a dusty project going on and I had
not noticed my dog, as my husband was coughing.
Thank You, for their healing. Love, tenderness,
dreams, endurance and Joy. Blessings.

Help us to deal with the mean.
So many times, they need extra prayers
as this meanness is confusion for
mental hardships and sad thoughts.
Created by fear, they cannot cope.
Creating copycat behaviors and ideas.
This tends to be repetitive and without innovation.
Illogical actions and words create the need
for prayer.

We pray for the Nation
Jesus Christ a Light within mankind.

Father, I lift up my family, as they
seek to voyage in a new phase of life.
I ask Your Love upon those I love.
Dwell in us.
Help us to be a good dwelling for Your Holy Spirit.
Seeing Blessings and mercy.
Help us to See You and seek You first.
And we will finish well in Jesus Christ.

Your mercy, Love and favor,
We Thank You.
Amen in Jesus,
our Wonderful Jesus. Amen

Psalm 73 ~ Truly God is good

Psalm 73

1 Truly God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.

2 But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled, my steps had nearly slipped.
3 For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4 For they have no pangs until death; their bodies are fat and sleek. 5 They are not in trouble as others are; they are not stricken like the rest of mankind. 6 Therefore pride is their necklace; violence covers them as a garment.

7 Their eyes swell out through fatness; their hearts overflow with follies. 8 They scoff and speak with malice; loftily they threaten oppression. 9 They set their mouths against the heavens, and their tongue struts through the earth.

10 Therefore his people turn back to them, and find no fault in them. 11 And they say, "How can God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?"

12 Behold, these are the wicked; always at ease, they increase in riches.

13 All in vain have I kept my heart clean and washed my hands in innocence. 14 For all the day long I have been stricken and rebuked every morning.

15 If I had said, "I will speak thus," I would have betrayed the generation of your children.

16 But when I thought how to understand this, it seemed to me a wearisome task, 17 until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I discerned their end. 18 Truly you set them in slippery places; you make them fall to ruin. 19 How they are destroyed in a moment, swept away utterly by terrors!

20 Like a dream when one awakes, O Lord, when you rouse yourself, you despise them as phantoms.21 When my soul was embittered, when I was pricked in heart, 22 I was brutish and ignorant; I was like a beast toward you.

23 Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. 24 You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory. 25 Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.

26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. 27 For behold, those who are far from you shall perish; you put an end to everyone who is unfaithful to you.

28 But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.

We see right away the answer is No. Verse 1 God is Good to the Pure of Heart. Asaph quickly makes the point,

Jesus Was Not Offended By Questions. Although He answered Nicodemus so tartly, Nicodemus loved Jesus all his days.

If we draw near for asking a real question... we see Jesus more clearly and we see Him More With Love.

The Psalmist Asaph makes a correlation right away to Genesis 1. Father God knows rest. A point we don't take easily. God did not say time out - God said rest. Relax.

Did Jesus do this?

God tells us this about Himself:

Exodus 34:14
you shall not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God

Jesus certainly did not let the Disciples talk Him into casting fire on the Samaritans.

Luke 9:54
When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked, "Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?"

Jesus DID NOT. He had revealed He was Messiah in His Words first to the Samaritan Woman.

Lets look at Exodus 34, again....

…13"But rather, you are to tear down their altars and smash their sacred pillars and cut down their Asherim 14for you shall not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God-

The Truth of Jesus childhood is this:

Luke 2
49 And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?”[h] 50 And they did not understand the saying that he spoke to them. 51 And he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was submissive to them. And his mother treasured up all these things in her heart.

52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.

Asaph proclaims he does not want to be a jealous man because, it affects the generations. Psalm 73:15

Jesus has waded in into the messiness of Life. He did not stay in His Heaven. He reached far down to bring us His Grace. The intersection of real life, real mess, real sin, real hope, real Glory. Real God and REAL Jesus Christ God. Our Grace was hard won. We need to have the Appreciation as we begin Lent towards Easter.

Because this was what Jesus displayed all His Life.

Exodus 34

1The Lord said to Moses, “Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.

A Surprise from The Anno Domini. Era

The Roman Stoa build by Herod in the Second Temple exactly copies the Vatican of the 4th Century.

Fragment left by the 70 AD destruction by later Emperor Titus. 70 AD would have been Jesus' natural lifespan.

Here is a picture of the first St. Peter's Basilica built by Emperor Constantine from 326 -333 AD. It was of typical basilica architecture. Romans were famous for the architecture. Domes, Arches, Concrete, Columns - there were many forms this building could have taken. Typical basilica (basilica - Roman public building) architecture was the Royal Stoa beside the 2nd Temple in Jerusalem. Herod had built a Roman basilica on the 36 acres of the Temple. 103.6 metres (340 ft) Emperor Constantine (who naively believed Christian citizens would be more controllable) built a very similar basilica upon Peter's tomb:

There are no coincidences, just works of God.

What can we say to comfort ourselves for these cross cultural references of the Lord?

1 Kings 8:27
But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built!

Acts 7:49
Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool. What kind of house will you build for Me, says the Lord, or what will be My place of repose?

Acts 17:24
The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples made by human hands.

2 Chronicles 2:6
"But who is able to build a house for Him, for the heavens and the highest heavens cannot contain Him? So who am I, that I should build a house for Him, except to burn incense before Him?"

The Rock of our Foundation. Is Jesus Christ the Lord.

1 Timothy 2

1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the mana Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.

ALL THINGS WORK FOR GOOD FOR THOSE WHO LOVE THE LORD AND WORK ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSES

God is so interesting even the way the New Testament is arranged. The Gospels of Jesus are first, of course. Then Paul, basically, and as the list goes further down - James the Brother of Christ is honored above Peter - Keeper of the Keys to the Gates of Heaven. I think this is heartwarming. Paul - we read - is like us - he will work, not having walked with Jesus in this life. And God is going to see our lives saying He blesses us for seeing Him with eyes of faith. I love the placing of Paul writing in the Holy Spirit. The forgiveness of Paul.

We surely Need This Jesus. Every day.

Abba, Father,

We Bless You for Jesus. He enables us to have a Hope and Future. Covering us in His Righteousness. When we believe Jesus, He gives us this immeasurable Gift.

Father, we will Trust in the Lord with all our heart, and do not lean on our own understanding. In all our ways acknowledge God, and He will make straight your paths.

Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, Jesus, Himself, likewise partook of the same things, that through death Jesus might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil.

Knowing we were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from our forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a Lamb without blemish or spot.

We give You thanks for the Lavish Love of Jesus, especially on the Sabbath. Realizing the Magnitude of Jesus. And giving thanks knowing our sincerity in Thanking Him, is our Joy and is pleasing to Him. God who bends so far that we might Live forever with God in His Kingdom.

Abba, Thank You. And for the ones I love, the People You have given me and we pray for. Thank You for helping me with my ears. For Helping Edward. For P and for D. For their complete recoveries. Thank God, Truly, my experience in life testifies when you rejoice with the chances of others and ask with joy the storehouses of God do not grow small - Abba loves and provides.

Thank God for His Goodness, covering us with the Grace we need. Amen.

Psalm 130 ~ depths †

Psalm 130

A Song of Ascents.

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord!
2O Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my pleas for mercy!

3If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could stand?

4 But with you there is forgiveness,
that you may be feared.

5I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
and in his word I hope;
6 my soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen for the morning,
more than watchmen for the morning.
7O Israel, hope in the Lord!

For with the Lord there is steadfast love,
and with him is plentiful redemption.
8 And he will redeem Israel
from
all his iniquities.

If we look at Mary, the Mother of God, with Psalm 130 we find more of her life.

Why? Catholics and Protestants see Mary differently. Yes, Jesus absolutely refused to give Mary public adoration saying more blessed are they doing God's Will

Yet, God Himself arranges the Scriptures and when we put them together, we see God has described Mary more than anyone else in New Testament Scriptures.

Someone sits at the Right Hand of God, beside Jesus. And this would be the woman, Mary, who saved and welcomed the preborn Jesus, collection of human cells, yet divine.  And then looked for Jesus to save him as an early teen. Later, went before the huge crowd to bring Him home and make Him safe. All for Love. Right hand of God Himself.

And on Good Friday, Mary went before the great multitude described in Luke 23:27 to stay with Jesus every second she could see Him and help.

Mary shares something with the Faithful
today
we are waiting on the Lord
to move circumstances we have no power over.

We want to see God's Goodness Pour Forth.
Fill us, Abba.
Let Justice Roll Down Like Waters
and
Righteousness
Like an Every Flowing Stream

Shining Water, the River of Life

The events of the world are vast
Isaiah 7 explains the timing of the arrival of the Messiah.
More vast than the learned theologians.

Mary's trip, vastly pregnant, 80 miles to the Bethlehem barn
was generated by the Lord.

And Caesar Augustus was put in power to bring financial gain, first through
the dependable revenue of tax from the far corners of the Empire,
far away from the powerful of Rome.

Isaiah 7 is on the move to fulfill in Jesus.

Every day did happen
and in Nazareth, the most watchful of cities.

Nazareth has a unique aspect, built on a plateau
Nazareth had many watch towers.
In fact, the whole city could have watched the betrothed
and heavily pregnant Mary, travel for a long distance
with Joseph to
Bethlehem.

Today, we have something in common with Mary.
She was waiting to see what God would do with all He had Promised.
Times according to Isaiah 7, could be difficult
Mary's Song, The Magnificat explains.

Mary’s Magnificat

 Luke 1:46-55

And Mary said,
“My soul magnifies the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior

For God has looked with favor
on the lowliness of the Almighty’s servant.

Surely, from now on
all
generations will call me blessed;
for the Mighty One has done great things for me
and
Holy is God’s name.

(Mary is among the first to know the Name of Jesus)

God’s mercy is for those who fear God
from generation to generation.

God has shown strength with God’s arm;
God has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts.

God has brought down the powerful from their thrones,
and
 lifted up the lowly;

God has filled the hungry with good things,
and sent the rich away empty.
God has helped servant Israel,
in remembrance of
God’s mercy,
according to the promise God made
to our ancestors,
to Abraham and to his descendants
forever.

Mary's Son is Bold. The Song of personal salvation, the Light of God
reaching to All of mankind. The Light spreading into the corners of all of life. Making a Way, Truth and Life. Politically, economically worldwide moving women and the ill creating new societies and filling all dimensions.

2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity,
but of power,
love,
and self-discipline.

Jeremiah 24:6
I will set my eyes on them for good,
and I will bring them back to this land.
I will build them up, and not tear them down;
 I will plant them,
and not pluck them up.

Philippians 1:6
And I am sure of this,
that He who began a good work in you
will bring it to completion
at the day
of
Jesus Christ.

Jeremiah 32:42
For thus says the Lord:
Just as I have brought all this great disaster
upon this people,
so I will bring upon them
All
the good
that I promise them.

Jeremiah 33:11
The voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voices of those who sing, as they bring thank offerings to the house of the Lord: “‘Give thanks to the Lord of hosts, for the Lord is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!’ For I will restore the fortunes of the land as at first, says the Lord.

Luke 2:10
And the angel said to them,
“Fear not,
for behold
 I bring you good news
 of great joy
 that will be for
all the people.

was believed in throughout the world,

Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
