Mark 10:18 And Jesus said to him,"Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone."

Mark 10:18

And Jesus said to him,"Why do you call me good?
No one is good except God alone."

Yesterday, we thought about how messy it is to judge history. Different times and seasons and, yet, God is yesterday, today and tomorrow. He provides shelter for love and faith to grow, more, when we look for His Blessings.

One of the main discussions my mother often recalled with her mother about faith, happened around the kitchen table.  Often. Jimmy and my mother would goad my Grandmother Anita by saying there is no point to pray for sunshine or rain. God is in His Heaven, doing what He does. And what is God going to do if we pray for rain and others pray for sunshine? No matter who prays, someone will be disappointed. Even if they are faithful in their belief in their prayer.

My Grandmother Anita didn't goad easily, and her answer was usually, "Oh, you." She, probably, was saying, "Owe you." As in, "Do I owe you an answer, again and again?" The question was made as one of irritation with faith.

Maybe this question would be better answered with another portion of the Bible I heard in a Sermon this weekend. I thought this was so wonderful. 10 Lepers were healed in:

Luke 17:11-19

On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee.

12 And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance 13 and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” 1

4 When he saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.”

And as they went they were cleansed.

15 Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; 16 and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan.

17 Then Jesus answered, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? 18 Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?”

19 And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.”

Now, a YouTube video of one leper being cleansed, healed.

The one leper who returned to Jesus, of the 10, in Luke 17
would never forget giving Thanks.
His life was not just healed, he was set on the path with Jesus
in gratitude. A life, a way, a truth to talk to Jesus.
The presbyters always spoke of meeting Jesus
to the incoming pilgrims in the next 2 centuries. The eyewitnesses
and then their children spoke of Jesus. Speaking and being healed by Jesus Christ.

The Jewish Dispersion on Crete came to Jerusalem on Pilgrimage,
they asked Jesus to join them in their travels.
He said His own course was set.
And yet, we know from Titus, this was a peaceful, long-lived
time for the next century on Crete. Probably for asking Jesus!

Why miss out? Why not have the time we spend with Jesus asking? Why not have the Blessing to rejoice in? Trying to pray for the weather. The Word of God upholds the Universe. I have plenty of memories, and most praying Christians have amazing wonders to remember.

When my mother was being prayed for in 1978, Church of the Resurrection in Garland, Texas, the Priest, Father Ted Nelson realized during a healing prayer at the altar, the Lord was working upon my mother. In the pews were all her prayer group, asking Jesus as well. Fr Ted knew something was happening to my mother, and he prayed and asked Jesus for complete healing of the Thyroid tumor.  My mother thought she was having a menopause, microwave melt down and spend the entire 15 minutes asking the Lord not to let her pass out.  God has a sense of humor. Her healing didn't quit for her determination not to pass out from her heat wave.

Why wouldn't we ask about the weather?  Jesus prayed over the weather as well, we walk in His footsteps. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.

Abba, Father,

Your Son told us to pray always.
We boldly pray in the Highest Name of Jesus,
we ask for Florida's recovery from Hurricane
and the end of the Texas drought. All drought, Father.

It is very meet, right,
and our bounden duty,
that we should at all times,
and in all places, give thanks unto thee,
O Lord, holy Father, almighty, everlasting God!

We ask we may worthily receive the most precious Body and Blood of thy Son Jesus Christ,
be filled with thy grace and heavenly benediction,
and made one body with Him, that He may dwell in us, and we in Him.

We do not presume to come to this thy Table, O merciful
Lord, trusting not in our own righteousness, but in thy manifold
and great mercies. We are not worthy so much as to gather
up the crumbs under thy Table. But thou art the same Lord
whose property is always to have mercy. Grant us therefore,
gracious Lord, so to eat the flesh of thy dear Son Jesus Christ,
and to drink his blood, that we may evermore dwell in him,
and he in us. Amen.

Father, Abba,
I love to see priest hands praying.
I remember Tate, so often praying.
We prayed for Julie and her feet were healed
in 5th grade. Tate and our family prayed a long way away
on Sunday at the family dinner table.

Matthew 25

Truly I tell you,
whatever you did
for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine,
you did for me

The Holy Spirit is the Holiness of our
Prayers connecting day or night
all the gates of Heaven are Open.

Thank You so Much, Jesus.
Amen and Amen in Jesus Christ
Lord God
Amen.

Prayer at the table,
goes far

Galatians 4:21-31, 5:1 ~ Children of the Free

 Galatians 4:21-31, 5:1

21  Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not listen to the law? 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by a slave woman and one by a free woman. 23 But the son of the slave was born according to the flesh, while the son of the free woman was born through promise. 24 Now this may be interpreted allegorically: these women are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children for slavery; she is Hagar. 25 Now Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia; she corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children. 26 But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother. 27 For it is written,

"Rejoice, O barren one who does not bear; break forth and cry aloud, you who are not in labor! For the children of the desolate one will be more than those of the one who has a husband.”and those of the one who has a husband.”

28 Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. 29 But just as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now. 30 But what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the slave woman and her son, for the son of the slave woman shall not inherit with the son of the free woman.” 31 So, brothers, we are not children of the slave but of the free woman.

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

When my parents were explaining the evening news to me in elementary school, we had to discuss the violence of the Vietnam War. Why we wore and prayed for MIA and POW.  My parents said, the war was too far away to have been taken on. A bad idea. A world away. People were angry, the young and poor went. Bravery was in the men who fought. They fought for the goodness of democracy.  Injured and Brave, to be respected at all costs. And for the angry about the Vietnam War, understandable, but shouldn't be directed at the Brave War Heroes.

My father said so many issues were created, each issue should be examined for goodness, duty, bravery, patriotism and wisdom with peace. The apple was sliced in all directions. And we prayed for the men, the families and their children. We wore bracelets to remember to pray.

Columbus Day falls in this category. We don't ask the blind to see. Or the lame to run. Why would we ask someone from 1492 to know about compassion in the same measure we know today. Children were swaddled, hung on the wall, and defecated on the floor in 1492.  Children in the Middle Ages were named when they were . . . . . Five years old. Why would we expect them to know compassion. Names weren't wasted on children, who died so easily of a cold or injury. Children were treated like disposable cups and plates until age 5.

Columbus left a diary, and in his diary he often spoke of salvation. It was the era of the Spanish Inquisition. Ignorant and large and in charge. King Ferdinand judged Columbus to be a failure in a naval or pirating  capacity and put him in jail for up to five years.

Jane Austin era. 1775=1817. Romance, beauty, love. Mansfield Park and Persuasion. We learn the British Navy wasn't paid, but instead looted in piracy. Never is it mentioned, slave ships and warships were the looted. Slavery is seen as bad. Piracy to be made rich is seen as good.

If we try to judge history.

Let's say Theodore Roosevelt's parents must have been evil to have died in their early 40s. Except this was precisely the longevity of the age. And they died, wealthy and in New York City. This age is mortality, at the same age as many and most - this is the life expectancy. This is the life expectancy of many in Africa, today.  In 1924, Calvin Coolidge, Jr, age 16, died from the White House to Walter Reid hospital from a blister on his foot. Times change.

What about today? Will John Glenn be castigated for participating with Nasa having used a monkey as a test agent. Will Nasa face scrutiny for continuing when human beings died?

How can we participate with mere children being told to have sexual discussions they can't understand and should never have this legally accepted.

What can we decide about Galatians 4 being politically incorrect about slavery for Hagar, of Arabia, with her rather enforced slavery son born to Hagar, their son, Ishmael.

Jesus said in Matthew 19:8
He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.

Jesus was acknowledging, in the same way as Kings and Chronicles of the Bible, generations change.  He wasn't in favor of the changes, but He knew people and generations change. And change again, going back and forward.

We have to find how we understand and relate to Galatians 4. The answer is easy. Mercy. We want all the Mercy we can find in Jesus to cover us and bring us into His Joy Jesus has found in life. We want to see His smile and see God make all things new again. Right with Love. Hope. Joy. Mercy. Grace. LOVE!

Eli understood God left Eli's sons out for being very crooked and usury with their Temple Power.  And the Word of God assures us Eli's sons were OUT of God's favor. Samuel was to know the People of Israel did not want Samuel's sons for the same reason as his mentor Eli. Samuel graciously accepted that as true. Hezekiah was told his grace and faith had saved his generation, but oops, not his sons. Hezekiah accepted this fate for them.

And then we have Abraham arguing God with God. God is too gracious to let people die. And Abraham wants God to bless Ishmael too. God Loves Abraham and calls Abraham His Friend and Righteous.

Abraham is in the wrong to have made Hagar accept Abraham and his longed for pregnancy. Abraham would have been and was wrong to not care for Ishmael. Generational problems result. Yet, in Abraham's fallen attempt to help Ishmael, he aligns himself with the Mercy of Jesus. The messiness of life. The necessity of messy Scripture. Where we want to see the Most Mercy Possible. God, snap, snap, sweep up.

Instead, God gives His Own Son to reveal His Love and His Heart. His Nature. Not Eli, not Samuel, not David, not Hezekiah. Instead, JESUS! Before Abraham, Jesus is Light of the World.

Thank GOD. Amen.

Why would God have seasons of Prodigal Son?
The history of the world displays, every 500 years, upheaval happens.
And in the recovery, mankind advances in education, medicine
and hope for all mankind.

Luke 8:16-25 ~ He answered

Luke 8:16-25

“No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. 17 For nothing is hidden that will not be made manifest, nor is anything secret that will not be known and come to light. 18 Take care then how you hear, for to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he thinks that he has will be taken away.”

19 Then his mother and his brothers came to him, but they could not reach him because of the crowd. 20 And he was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see you.” 21 But he answered them, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.”

22 One day he got into a boat with his disciples, and he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side of the lake.”

So they set out, 23 and as they sailed he fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water and were in danger. 24 And they went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!”

And he awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, and there was a calm. 25 He said to them, “Where is your faith?”

And they were afraid, and they marveled, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that he commands even winds and water, and they obey him?”

What was it like to be a Disciple of Jesus and see Him walk, live as Grace upon Grace? John offers the most long-lasting insight in John 21:

John 21
24 This is the disciple who is bearing witness about these things, and who has written these things, and we know that his testimony is true.
25 Now there are also many other things that Jesus did.
Were every one of them to be written,
I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books
that would be written.

The crowds of Rome would seek Peter, 30 years later, and to the surprise of Mark and Peter, the people had specific questions of Jesus to ask and have answered. The Gospel of Mark was the hit parade of the first century world.

Answering this portion of the gospel - about the people seeking and asking about Jesus during His Life on earth: “No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. 17 For nothing is hidden that will not be made manifest, nor is anything secret that will not be known and come to light. 18 Take care then how you hear, for to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he thinks that he has will be taken away.”

Did Jesus get the nod from everyone: No, Mary and His Brothers worried He was perishing by standing up. Jesus answered, we should all be awake and doing God's Will while it is Day. Jesus said, "Days will come." And Jesus would not be walking out on His ministry, and He waited for them to catch up.

Probably, Jesus wanted to ask them, "Where is your faith?" But must have thought His well-chosen Word would be wasted. Fellows on a ship. The time to learn to communicate. Fellowship. To think Life is ending and find Jesus is salvation.

In the 8th Chapter of Luke, The Disciples are still in awe of Jesus.

Matthew 18:10
See that you do not despise one of these little ones.
For I tell you that their angels in Heaven
always see the Face of My Father in Heaven

 Abba, Father,

Thank You, Father God, for Your Wonders of each Day of Your Life.
You make all things new in Jesus Christ.
Jesus tells us You are working and Jesus with You.

We pray for Florida.
We pray for Families.
We pray for their recovery.
And we ask for fewer weather incidents.

More of Your Holy Spirit, having You dwell in us
God of Love.
God of Encouragement.

For our history, our generations
have pleased You
Loving and Caring for our Children.
Look with us, and Bless us, Father.

Smile upon us, remembering
our heart to please our families
and You.

Forgive us when we err
in weakness, need and fear.
Strengthen us in Your Love.

Thanks be to Jesus, for His Grace upon Grace.

I will wait upon God all the days of my life and dwell in the House of Lord for His Word to me. Alleluia. Christmas is coming again.
This is as sure as the Promises of God for us in eternity who call upon Jesus.
Speak the Word, God, and I shall be well.

Psalm 139:1-18,23-24

O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar.
3 You search out my path and my lying down
and are acquainted with all my ways.
4 Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.
5 You hem me in, behind and before,
and lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
it is high; I cannot attain it.

7 Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
8 If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
9 If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 even there your hand shall lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,
and the light about me be night,”
12 even the darkness is not dark to you;
the night is bright as the day,
for darkness is as light with you.

13 For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.

17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 If I would count them, they are more than the sand.
I awake, and I am still with you.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!

Abba, Father,
Your wrath is covered when we believe in Jesus.
Psalm 139 is the perfect reminder in all of Psalm 139.
Jesus helps us daily to find the path of Love and Encouragement.

Abba,
You have Blessed this Nation and believing Nations
with an Open Always Prayer Life
being who we are and believing You make us better and more loving.

We can look at Psalm 139
and remember the generations of people and families
doing all they can for their children in complex life
needing Jesus as Savior.

Your Word
gives us Hope
Love
Faith
Encouragement

We can ask for Your Holy Spirit to know
all of us
every cell
every molecule
Just as water is a wonder
You have created us as Wonders of Your Creation

and as Your Holy Spirit
knows every thought, every molecule
every cell
the hairs on our head
we have been filled with the
Light of Jesus Christ
and only the better
for Jesus to be the Light within us.

Our Prayer this year,
The Light of Heaven,
The Light of the world, God's Good Creation
Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
The Light of Nations
The Light of Mankind
will be
the Light filling this complex time
with more
of Your Love, Encouragement
Guidance, Mercy
Grace upon Grace.

We ask simply God
for Your Love
and Your Mercy
Your forbearance with this time.

Knowing October brings next Christmas Season
Summer brings warmth
Autumn tells the Glory of God
and Christmas renews us in Hope
New Years is Jesus giving us pause to
remember
Jesus Christ makes ALL things New.

As we are asked to remind God
to bless us with more Heaven on earth,
His Good Will be done.

To You, our Father, be the Glory
Our God is an Awesome God! Amen
and Alleluia
in Jesus Christ and His Glory!

Matthew 13:31,32

Jesus put before them another parable: “The Kingdom of Heaven
is like a mustard seed that a man planted in his field.

Although it is the smallest of all seeds,
yet it grows into the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree,
so that the birds of the air come
and
nest in its branches.”

About Me

Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
