Psalm 47

Clap your hands, all peoples!

Shout to God with loud songs of joy!

For the Lord, the Most High, is to be feared,

a great king over all the earth.

He subdued peoples under us,

and nations under our feet.

He chose our heritage for us,

the pride of Jacob whom he loves. Selah

God has gone up with a shout,

the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.

Sing praises to God, sing praises!

Sing praises to our King, sing praises!

For God is the King of all the earth;

sing praises with a psalm!

God reigns over the nations;

God sits on his holy throne.

The princes of the peoples gather

as the people of the God of Abraham.

For the shields of the earth belong to God;

he is highly exalted!

Houston's Harris County and other Counties in Texas are adjusting Covid-19. We have 38,790 Active Cases in Harris County and Recovered Cases of 19,129. We have all put on masks and followed our Governor and Federal Guidelines. Since July 13th, this has begun to show some slight improvement. This is different from the singing we saw in fear in Italy. It's different from the fear we all held for NYC.

We have hope the masks and the guidelines are going to work within a month - if we adhere to this pattern. And we are all back in a Team Helpful Pattern. In the Suburbs, if you are unmasked, not at a Restaurant table, you will have some concerned and unhappy glances. Shops and restaurants insist on those without masks to exit.

Instead of fear, healing. Instead of isolation, more concern and conversation. Texas understands to keep moving and praying and healing. I'm sure we are all getting with the prayer and the help others guidelines.

Father God asks us to reach for the song in our soul and find Rejoicing. The Lord is our Strength and our Joy.

Know also that wisdom is like honey for you: If you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.

We want to be known to You, to seek You first. And find Heaven on earth and give Heaven to others.

Jesus we Lift our concerns to You. You will tenderly handle them. We lift our Loved Ones. We lift our communities and Churches. And this Nation. Rejoicing people all over the World call upon Jesus from Knowing His Love.

Asking prayers for our son taking the Bar Exam. And our injured dog.

Revelation 1:8 ~ The Alpha and Omega, Who Is, and Who Was, and Who will Come.

Leviticus 17:5-6

5 This is to the end that the people of Israel may bring their sacrifices that they sacrifice in the open field, that they may bring them to the LORD, to the priest at the entrance of the tent of meeting, and sacrifice them as sacrifices of peace offerings to the LORD. 

6 And the priest shall throw the blood on the altar of the LORD at the entrance of the tent of meeting and burn the fat for a pleasing aroma to the LORD.

Genesis 1:27-31

27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. David, of course, had a very good look at the Ark of the Covenant because the people of God - carried the Ark with them. It had not yet occurred to the people of God to place God behind a Curtain. The Ark could be very uncomfortable to live with - as David experienced.

And having seen the actual Ark of the Covenant, Moses and the Lord had discussed the Ark of the Covenant, David well knew (and from his experiences in the field with the flock telling Father God all of his emotions and thoughts) David knew the Merciful and Steadfast Love from God. The Ark is a Seat of Mercy. Asking Father God to sit down, live, have His being with us and have Mercy upon us.



David knew the Mercy of God.

The people of God knew such Glory in God - today Shiloh, Israel has a copy - a solid building of the Tabernacle Tent holding the Ark of the Covenant. Today.

God knew all of mankind - seeing into mankind. And in the Creation, In the endurance. In the acceptance of God's Son and His Sacrifice. God even in Leviticus is inviting us into Revelation 1 - His Home, His Throne. Surrounded by the aroma of prayer as incense and the Shining Water aroma of His very Home.

Proverb 8

27 When he established the heavens, I was there; when he drew a circle on the face of the deep,

28 when he made firm the skies above, when he established the fountains of the deep,

29 when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command,

when he marked out the foundations of the earth, 30 then I was beside him,

like a master workman,

and I was daily his delight, 

rejoicing before him always,

31 rejoicing in his inhabited world

and delighting in the children of man.

To Know the Scriptures
is to Know the Power of God.

Great is His steadfast love toward us,

1 Corinthians 13:13 ~ the Greatest of These is Love

1 Corinthians 13:13

So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

The message of Jesus Christ's salvation is much more compelling and eternal than I could every be privileged to say.

Salvation is from the Lord Jesus.

Isaiah 51

Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness,

you who seek the Lord:

look to the rock from which you were hewn,

and to the quarry from which you were dug.

The faith and bedrock I saw my family do life with. The people who live long lives of hope.

2 Look to Abraham your father

and to Sarah who bore you;

for he was but one when I called him,

that I might bless him and multiply him.

Our blessings only come from God.

3 For the Lord comforts Zion;

he comforts all her waste places

and makes her wilderness like Eden,

her desert like the garden of the Lord;

joy and gladness will be found in her,

thanksgiving and the voice of song.

This is a wonderful verse. And not for the days when we feel comforted. The memory of comfort. I believe in the Son when the sun is not shining. When parents are frail and loved ones have a terminal diagnosis. When the path tells you, you must be strong to Jesus. Jesus is where you need comfort the most. We come into this world, usually alone, and to Jesus we bring our soul with Him alone. And in reality, this is the Person, This Son of God, we need the most.

4 “Give attention to me, my people,

and give ear to me, my nation;

for a law will go out from me,

and I will set my justice for a light to the peoples.

THIS is the LIGHT of Jesus within us. This is our bedrock. Weep when we must weep. To be real. To be genuine. To be sincere. To go forth. To go far.



What is Heaven? His People. To hear Jesus say, "My People."
To hear Him call us "His Nation."

5 My righteousness draws near,

my salvation has gone out,

and my arms will judge the peoples;

the coastlands hope for me,

and for my arm they wait.

6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens,

and look at the earth beneath;

for the heavens vanish like smoke,

the earth will wear out like a garment,

and they who dwell in it will die in like manner;

but my salvation will be forever,

and my righteousness will never be dismayed.

7 “Listen to me, you who know righteousness,

the people in whose heart is my law;

fear not the reproach of man,

nor be dismayed at their reviling.

8 For the moth will eat them up like a garment,

and the worm will eat them like wool;

but my righteousness will be forever,

and my salvation to all generations.”

9 Awake, awake, put on strength,

O arm of the Lord;

awake, as in days of old,

the generations of long ago.

Was it not you who cut Rahab in pieces,

who pierced the dragon?

10 Was it not you who dried up the sea,

the waters of the great deep,

who made the depths of the sea a way

for the redeemed to pass over?

11 And the ransomed of the Lord shall return

and come to Zion with singing;

everlasting joy shall be upon their heads;

they shall obtain gladness and joy,

and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

12 “I, I am he who comforts you

who are you that you are afraid of man who dies,

of the son of man who is made like grass,

13 and have forgotten the Lord, your Maker,

who stretched out the heavens

and laid the foundations of the earth,

and you fear continually all the day

because of the wrath of the oppressor,

when he sets himself to destroy?

And where is the wrath of the oppressor?

14 He who is bowed down shall speedily be released;

he shall not die and go down to the pit,

neither shall his bread be lacking.

This is Prayer.


Norman Vincent Peale wrote this:

A man in Toronto at a gathering of advertising and sales people to whom I had been asked to speak. He confided to me, “I have found two things in life that made everything different for me. The first—and it was the greatest single experience I ever had—was finding Jesus Christ and committing my life to him. And the second thing was that I learned to pray. These two things,” he declared, “revolutionized my life.” And he added, “What a pity that so many human beings never find Christ and never learn to pray! They miss the greatest things in this life.”

This is what Jesus has been saying to us through the years, and really astute people make this discovery. Christ can change your life. Prayer can change your life. Some people think you only come to such a change in one certain way. Nothing could be more false. 


One way in which prayer can change your life is by teaching you to think creatively. The way you think spells the difference between living life well and living it poorly. Prayer is an activity that sharpens the mind and thereby brings the believer into harmony with the great Mind. Now the mind, by which we remember and perceive and understand and dream and think—this is the divine within us. Through mind and soul, an individual has contact with God. Prayer is the con- tact of the soul with God through the mental process whereby the individual conquers his own weaknesses and enters into life abundant.

True prayer requires discipline, it requires pain, it requires the agony to think. But when you do think prayerfully with Jesus as your guide, you break free from the defeats which have encompassed you. I do not believe there is any problem, any defeat, any difficulty that cannot be overcome through prayer.

I have a friend who runs a big bakery business, which he built up from nothing. He was himself the company’s first baker, as a matter of fact, and he claims he can still make better bread and cakes than most of the present bakers. And one day he described to me a significant experience he had some years ago. He was faced with an extremely worrisome problem. He would pace the floor half the day trying to figure out a solution. He lay awake at night brooding over it.

Then, one day as he sat in his office feeling completely baffled, he chanced to glance at his mother’s picture hanging on the wall. “My mother,” he told me, “was a Kansas woman reared on the farm where I was born. She had never had much schooling. But in the hard, good life she and my father lived together she had learned many things in the school of experience. And she used to say to us children, ‘When you have a problem and you’ve worked as hard as you can at it, given it all you’ve got, and still you haven’t solved it, the thing to do is just walk away from it and think about God. But don’t talk to God about the problem. Talk to him about himself. Tell him how much you love him. Talk to Jesus and thank him for all he has done for you. Tell him you want to be his faithful follower. Have fellowship with God and with Jesus.’” 

So my friend in his perplexity looked at the picture of his mother, departed long since but still living and still speaking to him in thought. And he decided to leave the problem for a while. He took out his Bible and read some passages his mother had marked in this same book. He thought about Jesus, and he rededicated himself, acknowledging that he felt he had not been growing as he ought, that he’d been less than himself. Then after a time he turned back to the problem. Did he get an answer immediately? No. But now he felt calm about it. He was confident he would somehow be able to handle it. And presently—later that same day, as I recall it—he did find a satisfactory solution. So prayer is a mental process.

Oftentimes a person will complain, “I’ve prayed and prayed and I didn’t get what I wanted.” You didn’t, eh? Well, who said you were supposed to get what you wanted? Prayer isn’t a device to get you what you want. Prayer is a means of bringing you to the point where you will accept what God wants. If you’re using it just for getting what you want, you’re engaging in an improper and degraded use of it.



Why did Jesus say we get what we want if we are abiding in His Word?

Because to Live in His Word is to Abide in His Will. When His Will and our hopes align.

This is why all the family of Jesus and all the Disciples met daily to pray. Their hopes and their faith and their Love - aligned in Jesus Christ.

Abba, Father God,

Help us to pray in a manner pleasing to you. To have the understanding that life is a series of rejoicing problems are solved and to continue to have hope faith and Love in all seasons.

We want to be known to You, to seek You first. And find Heaven on earth and give Heaven to others.

Jesus we Lift our concerns to You. You will tenderly handle them. We lift our Loved Ones. We lift up our communities and Churches. And this Nation. Rejoicing people all over the World call upon Jesus from Knowing His Love.

How lovely is your dwelling place,
O Lord of hosts!
My soul longs, yes, faints
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and flesh sing for joy
to the living God.

Even the sparrow finds a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may lay her young,
at your altars, O Lord of hosts,
my King and my God.
Blessed are those who dwell in your house,
ever singing your praise! Selah

Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
in whose heart are the highways to Zion.
As they go through the Valley of Baca
they make it a place of springs;

The Comfort of the Holy Spirit, God's Gift

We have been thinking how we will take this time and live in the Spirit of Power and not fear. Fear is a reasonable emotion. The Disciples were never fired.  Father God tells us we can find the Spirit of Power and lift our lives and thoughts  Upward.

Exodus 40 ~ and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle

We have lived out of the ordinary this year. Called 2020.
Churches saw Ash Wednesday prayers focused on having time to spend with families with children. A common prayer with a lot of heart. This time in life, our family together, comes around once. And with these situtions of 2020, we found families had to discuss urgent matters not resembling chicken parts wrapped in styrofoam. A time of Prayer.

Usually we live the ordinary. This year we had time to think about Works of God.
The Histories of Empires, the Archaeology of the Bible. The wall of evidence reflecting Glories interacting of Empires of Vast Histories - our technology world doesn't provide. The wonder of the ancients. The sustaining ability of Scripture - not presenting clean and neat people with sufficient abilities. The absolute definition all people are flawed and sinful. The Glory of God is seeing the warmth of His Living Word in our Heart. The Words reaching beyond time - so very far back, and yet we can catch strong ideas in our imaging. And then quick and sudden responses to technology taking us up,. And Yet Eternity is Today in our Heart; in Jesus we will go without trepidation far further than we asking or imagining. With a glimpse of Heaven within life and within God's territory, our own soul.

Not just the solid wall of written Histories among Cultures revealed with the Solid Core of Scripture,
the interweaving of God with all layers of all of our knowledge, the vast jungle in all of us. Mark's Gospel begins with taming the wilderness. Good point. The Jungle of thoughts, dreams, fears, reality, goals, vanity, Love, children, boredom, revelation and even failure. God sorting all this within us floating as stars in His Universe.  To find His Love bridges all gaps; we are whole. Holy in Jesus Christ. Traveling the Hills and "High Ways" of Heaven.

In God the Almighty, His Love, we are free.

We are sometimes put apart from one another. Physically, emotionally, a dwindle of effort and longing. Life pulls at the seams we thought would be our bond. All is lost. Jesus shows us a real Family belonging to God's Highest to find foolish, mistaken, accidental, forgetful, doubting, annoying, abandoning, selfish ambitions - reuniting. Awakening. A Living Water flood of nourishing, relentless Love. Love keeping us in Emmaus with Jesus and making all things new. Heaven where families live with each other on earth as in Heaven. Named by God with His Love.

Exodus 33:17-23, Exodus 34:1-10 ~ And the Lord said, “Behold"

The Exodus explains Father God allows us to have suffering and hardship to provide a framework of His Provision. The purpose: Allowing Love to Flourish. We find the Light of Christ in mankind is complaining and enduring and hoping and seasons of good and evil. If we see God first, we will find God isn't providing coincidences - God is Love. God is Life.

Where is our Shield Located?

 Our Shield is located where we put our Heart.

Just expect to be very cautious everywhere. God tells us not to fear a lion in the street.


Where is the Shield?
Continuance demonstrates the shield exists.

Why do we need all of these layers of - mess? To provide for families. To provide a place for love to exist. Working out the puzzles of life with some grim determination and the hope of Heaven. On earth.


We put our Shield where our heart is located. When we put our Trust in God, we find we are sustained, enduring, hopeful, resilient. Because our heart is with Jesus Christ.

When we pray the Lord's Prayer we identify Father God as our Heavenly Father. Why? We are being shown God loves us so dearly we will have to work to identify God apart from our earthly Dad. Jesus says Daddy. Abba.  And unlike our earthly Dad, God lives in our heart and soul. We invite Father  God to know all of us and live and move and have His Being in us.

The 84th Psalm tells us about God's Love for me and for you.

God dwells in you and in me,  as we say and believe Jesus is Lord. And we are His chosen dwelling place as the Holy Spirit lives in me and in you.

Abba, Father God says:
Our dwelling place welcoming Jesus Christ, God with us is - Lovely.

We Long for God.
And will sing for Joy in this Love and longing. The moments of the day become more interesting.

Even the least of us - sparrows - will understand the Tenderness of God.
Father God would hold our soul as a nest for the heart to be held in this tenderness.

Blessed
Father God is so gentle, the little tiny - without feathers and ability to cope - children - are held in this tenderness to hold forth hope and trust.

God reminds us He is God the Almighty. He is not a waiter or merely exists to be a  nest holder. God is a Father with an Altar. King and God from Alpha to Omega.

Blessed are all who find this wholeness of Holiness is where we place our Heart in God's Good Will.

Blessed
With Strength to want His High Way
Hardships become places to find His Blessings, just like these floods in Coastal Texas. Springs, Pools, Living Water, Strength to Strength.

Blessed
To have our prayers heard. Blessed God listens to us.

Blessed
To have a shield and to plan ,with hope, a future in God. To hope God's Heart will keep us in His High Way.

Blessed
To want to be in the Number when the Saints go Marching In.

Blessed 
To say Let the Plans of Jesus be established because our Home is in Jesus forever.

For the Lord God is a sun and shield;

the Lord bestows favor and honor.

No good thing does he withhold

from those who walk uprightly.

O Lord of hosts,

blessed is the one who trusts in you!

Abba, Father God,

Your willing Blessing renews each day. Let us seek You first and glimpse Heaven becoming more of earth. Especially for those we Love.

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you 

and be gracious to you; 

the Lord lift up his countenance, smile, upon you and give you peace.

Cover you in the Name of Jesus.

God is able to make all grace abound to you, 

so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times,

 you may abound in every good work.
