Luke 2 ~ Glory to God in the Highest

Luke 2

In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered.

2 This was the first registration when Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3 And all went to be registered, each to his own town. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. 6 And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. 7 And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

8 And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. 10 And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

15 When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. 17 And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child. 18 And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.

21 And at the end of eight days, when he was circumcised, he was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

22 And when the time came for their purification according to the Law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every male who first opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord”) 24 and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the Law of the Lord, “a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.” 25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. 27 And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law, 28 he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said,

29 “Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace,
    according to your word;
30 for my eyes have seen your salvation
31     that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,
32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles,
and for glory to your people Israel.”

33 And his father and his mother marveled at what was said about him. 34 And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed 35 (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed.”

36 And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from when she was a virgin, 37 and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day. 38 And coming up at that very hour she began to give thanks to God and to speak of him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.

39 And when they had performed everything according to the Law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth. 40 And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom. And the favor of God was upon him.

41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover. 42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up according to custom. 43 And when the feast was ended, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. His parents did not know it, 44 but supposing him to be in the group they went a day's journey, but then they began to search for him among their relatives and acquaintances, 45 and when they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem, searching for him. 46 After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 And all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. 48 And when his parents saw him, they were astonished. And his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us so? Behold, your father and I have been searching for you in great distress.” 49 And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?” 50 And they did not understand the saying that he spoke to them. 51 And he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was submissive to them. And his mother treasured up all these things in her heart.

52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.

Romans 5:18-21

One righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.
For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

This is the First Day of the Rest of Your Life.

Matthew 27:
51 At that moment the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split. 52 The tombs broke open, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised. 53 After Jesus’ resurrection, when they had come out of the tombs, they entered the holy city and appeared to many people.

When Jesus wants to make many righteous, He won't be stopped. The Evidence He provides makes the Shepherds participate. The far-flung Roman Empire participates. Even the Governor of the next Province of Rome is working. Every Host Jesus can name is working. The human parents of Jesus bumble about trying to comprehend God Works in their Lives today.

This Salvation of God is not by the will of those participating and trying to pull for God and maybe they could damage the Plan of God. Instead, we find, people just keep going, God's Plan will always be Victorious.

Wouldn't you doubt Mary and Joseph saw Traveling to Bethlehem as all part of this God Plan? And yet 1434 land miles from Rome to Jerusalem and 1246 Nautical Miles have no idea they are doing the will of God. Anna and Simeon participate with an inkling of Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 55:11
So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

James 1:12

Blessed are those who persevere under trial, because when they have stood the test, they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

Psalm 149 ~ Sing to the Lord a new song, His Praise in the assembly of the godly!

Psalm 149

Post responsive with Psalm!

We know Jesus told Mary Magdalene, He was not yet ready to be physically touched
as part of His Return.

Yet if we apply Scripture to this Easter Week
we might all find a moment to hold on to.

Praise the Lord!
Sing to the Lord a new song,
His praise in the assembly of the godly!

Multitudes had gathered in Jerusalem after Easter and the Good News

This gathering would involve Fellowship and being fed.

2 Let Israel be glad in his Maker;
let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!

3 Let them praise His Name with dancing,
making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!

4 For the Lord takes pleasure in His people

He adorns the humble with salvation.

Let the godly exult in glory

Meals are reclined to eat!

Let them sing for joy on their beds.

6 Let the high praises of God be in their throats
and two-edged swords in their hands,
7 to execute vengeance on the nations
    and punishments on the peoples,
8 to bind their kings with chains
and their nobles with fetters of iron,
9 to execute on them the judgment written!

This is honor for all His godly ones.
Praise the Lord!

Isaiah 30:18
Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you;
therefore He will rise up to show you compassion.
For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him!

Philippians 4:1
Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown,
stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends!

1 Corinthians
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:37
In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Matthew 12:20
A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he leads justice to victory.

I John 5:4
For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God].

Habakkuk 3:13
You came out to deliver your people, to save your anointed one.
You crushed the leader of the land of wickedness,
you stripped him from head to foot.

2 Corinthians 2:14
Thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.

Deuteronomy 20:4
For the Lord your God is He who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.’

Romans 8:31
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

Romans 6:14
For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but
under grace.

Abba, Our Father God

1 Peter 5:10
After your season of suffering, God in all of his grace will restore, confirm,
strengthen, and establish you.

Bless us to daily invite You, Abba to Live in us.

To know to seek You First and Your Heaven on this earth.

Isaiah 28:16 ~ Precious Cornerstone

Luke 1 begins the Gospel
and
Acts 1 has the same veneration as Jesus closes His minstry physically

Isaiah 28:16

So this is what the Sovereign LORD says:
"See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed."

 Matthew 13:32
Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows,
it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches.

Faith proclaimed through the generations.

We place our trust in Jesus, our strong deliverer. Each day.

Abba, Father God,

We want to seek You first, help us please, in the Highest Name of Jesus.

The Testimony of the Gospels is backed up with the Roman Empire Histories
and Emperor Constantine was a eyewitness to the extended family
of Jesus Christ in Nazareth refusing to give up their firm faith in Jesus.
300 A.D.

The eyewitness accounts to the Super Natural Jesus
were going to Proclaim Jesus without stopping.

Before the Shepherds carried His Word to Bethlehem's Manger and Baby Jesus,
Luke 1  tells of the Tender Mercy of God Visiting Us from On High.

The Eyewitnesses in the Second Century, the Books of John and Revelation
tell us of their Assurance and Eyewitness.

In case Matthew or Luke had wondered, they are given the Ascension of Jesus.

Scripture is alive and repeats to help us Live Today.
Living Willing Jesus, please send forth Your Word to
Heal Elliott.

Many Times the Lord's Prayer
helps us pick ourselves up
and be more aware of our Blessings.

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
dwell in us, please.

Holy is the Name of Jesus our Christ,
pray with us Jesus in Your Righteousness
and our prayer will availeth much.

Thy Kingcome Come
we want to see more Heaven on earth!

Thy Good and Gracious Will be Done.
On earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this Day!
Help unscatter us and focus us to be  past Pandemic.
Give us this Day our Daily Living Bread
and help supply us with what we need on so many levels.

 Forgive us our Trespasses.
We wouldn't plan on deliberately sinning.
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
Many times the Bible uses the word, "flee".
We wouldn't want God to flee from us in our plans,
and we don't believe others want to flee from us either.

God's Word uses the word Trespass
to indicate mostly we deal with small potatoes.
And have Gratitude.
Thank You, Abba.

Lead us not into temptation.
Jesus tells us to pray this.
We pray to strengthen one task at a time
and not bite off too much and be overwhelmed and have troubles.

Deliver us from evil.
Because the Battle is Yours.

For like John we Love Your Glory.
Your Wonderous Ways.
And The Kingdom is Yours Forever,
The Power is Love and Wise and Mercifully Yours,
and we Love and Adore
The Glory of Jesus
Name above All Names.
Amen

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think,
according to the power at work within us,
to Him be glory in the church and
in Christ Jesus throughout all generations,
forever and ever. Amen.

About scripture-for-today.blogspot.com/

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He has saved all who call upon His name and rely on Him for His Grace. The Scriptures are living & active and are for understanding the Lord Almighty. Biblical readings are chosen from the Ecumenical Christian Church and the Nicene Council, 325 A.D., approved Apocrypha. People remember not just from reading, but by sight and orally- an image has been added as well as audio readings. About Me

My photo
Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
