Matthew 17:14-20 ~ nothing will be impossible

 



Matthew 17:14-20


14 And when they came to the crowd, a man came up to him and, kneeling before Him, 15 said, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he has seizures and he suffers terribly. For often he falls into the fire, and often into the water. 16 And I brought him to your disciples, and they could not heal him.” 

17 And Jesus answered, 
“O faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you? 
How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” 

18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was healed instantly. 

19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” 

20 He said to them, 

“Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”


Jesus handles this like always. Jesus Christ does all things well.

  

  Luke 10:17-19

The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons
 submit to us in Your name.” 

18 So He told them, 
“I saw Satan fall like lightning from Heaven. 
19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread on snakes 
and scorpions, 
and over all the power of the enemy. 
Nothing will harm you.”

We know Jesus dealt with this enemy all the time, Scripture tells us Jesus had no difficulty with this at all.  This is one of the few events we have some background facts.  Because Jesus was giving us a new earth with His New Covenant. And a New Heaven. Satan was leaving Sheol and Heaven was Created because of Jesus' New Covenant, His Blood, His Sacrifice, His Life.  Our eternal salvation.

I've seen two exorcisms recorded by Clergy. One was porn. Books flew across the room without any reason. Another was worse and was an aged, old man. His wife said he engaged in child harm and child porn.  The man grew very ill after the exorcism, and his wife said he had been near death for years.

What facts did the Scriptures withhold in Matthew 17? We do not know whether this was a toddler, a fifteen-year-old or a 20-year-old boy. And our next questions would likely be, what did he do, and how will we avoid this in our lives? 

Jesus says blessed are the merciful, they will receive mercy.  And Jesus blames the generation. Whoa, that's not pleasant.  Jesus said the blind man was blind, not because of sin, but to allow the Glory of God to shine out. We know He was correct.  Jesus, again in Matthew 17, said something similar to this:

13 There were some present at that very time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 

2 And He answered them, 
“Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered in this way? 3 No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them: do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who lived in Jerusalem? 5 No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.”

Jesus refrains from Judgement of the afflicted. And tells us of the days of Jesus Christ living grace upon grace.

Jesus treats the failed attempts of the disciples to blend in with the generation. And the rest of their conversation is private and explained later to the Sheep of His Flock for millenniums. No lack of mercy is present. Mercy is abundant. Healing is abundant.  No one cried about Jesus coming to visit with the father and boy! Hope in prayer soars abundantly. Fear is cast out. Perfect Love casts out fear. God Bless our Lord Jesus!

The Light shines and darkness did not come near to overcoming Jesus Christ, Only Son of God! 

God takes what mankind finds of utmost unpleasantness and turns this to be Glory. We want more of Jesus. His Mercy. His Word. His Works.  Yes, Holy Spirit, Yes. Help is asked for and more Help is given with abundance.





Abba, Father,

Thank You
You hear
and love us
and answer our prayers.
Your Good Will
be done on earth
as in
Heaven.



Our heart hears the call from You.

And we see in Scripture 
the mercy of the merciful

Luke 17:17-19

Then Jesus answered, 
“Were not ten cleansed?
 Where are the nine? 
Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” 

And He said to him, 
“Rise and go your way; 
your faith has made you well.”

Help us to LIVE
 each day
putting You first.

As the Name of Jesus covers us
and 
the Holy Spirit dwells in us.


We ask healing
of Your Good Creation!

The fullness of the earth is Yours.

The healing of those we pray for
in our heart and soul.

Those who have worried about
illness
and the ones they love.


Dwell in us, Father,
we ask in the Highest Name of Jesus

Dwell fully in those we love

Help us to seek You 
first
and we will finish well 
in Jesus Christ.


Thank You.

Mark 8:22-26 ~ enter

 







Mark 8:22-26




22 And they came to Bethsaida. And some people brought to Him a blind man and begged Him to touch Him. 23 And He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village, and when He had spit on his eyes and laid His Hands on him, He asked him, “Do you see anything?” 

24 And he looked up and said, “I see people, but they look like trees, walking.” 25 Then Jesus laid His Hands on his eyes again; and he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. 

26 And Jesus sent him to his home, saying, “Do not even enter the village.”

This could have been humor. And it could be a Dear Abby Type Answer.

So many times, when we pray, we ask The Lord for wisdom, in choices we make or directions to take.  In Mark's Gospel, Chapter 8, Jesus has answered the blind man's decisions on where to go and what to do next.

What other times did Jesus answer the questions we all ask of Him?




Is Jesus personable!



In this Chapter, Jesus tells the Disciples … to understand. He asks them to open their hearts and eyes to understand Him.  And then He asks them to be obedient to Him. Jesus tells them to be proud of His Words and to proclaim the Word and faith.


Jesus tells the worried father to have more faith.  The man asks for help, Jesus Helps. Jesus tells the busy Disciples to pray more. 



He takes time for children, and places priorities where others would not. 



 Jesus is Alive and He tells the Disciples to have more salt. To be interesting! 


Jesus cuts across marriage and divorce and says don't do what the world does, do what God would have us do.


One man would seem to be too busy for God, his salvation appears Iffy and Jesus says, all things are possible with God. 


Jesus says, Whoever receives Heaven like a child, shall enter Heaven.




42 And Jesus called them to him and said to them, 
“You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 

43 But it shall not be so among you. 

But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. 

45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”






2 And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” 

And immediately he recovered his sight and followed Him on the way.



“What is this Word? 
For with authority and power 
He commands"


The Word of God, with the pure, we find a Loving, Compassionate God, Who Proclaims Jesus is His exact image.  With the shrewd, we find reasons to doubt and be double minded.  Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 

Varieties of Miracles
When we want Jesus, as our Lord, to give us advice, the Go Ask Abby Variety too, we find Living, Loving, Authority in Jesus.  One of the Miracles of Jesus is His Ability to Be GOD and to reach into frail hearts and souls and make them alive in Jesus.

Jesus Ascends and with Him, we do as well.


A peace within.

Real Joy and Giving Thanks. 


Abba, Father,

In Your Holy Spirit 
we ask forgiveness for sins,
and Your help for forgiveness
and guidance
create and renew Real Joy and Giving Thanks
within us.

To acknowledge pain, suffering and believe in Hope.
Understanding the Depth that You have lived 
Grace upon Grace
in this life.
Mercy of the Merciful, Jesus Christ. 

David felt his reward didn't sparkle daily.
And his family suffered again.

Help us to be the one who
gives thanks with meaningful purpose.

To have the Joy
of Overcoming.

To believe in all aspects of Life
the Darkness has not overcome The Light.

To have joy in our outrageous suffering
because
Victory is Certain in Christ Jesus The Lord.
And to gain strength
The Strength in the Joy of the Lord.

Luke 17:11-21 ~ On The Way

 






Luke 17:11-21






11 On the way to Jerusalem 
He was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. 

12 And as He entered a village, He was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance 13 and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” 

14 When He saw them He said to them, 
“Go and show yourselves to the priests.” 





And as they went they were cleansed. 



15 Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; 16 and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. 

17 Then Jesus answered, 
“Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine?  Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” 

19 And He said to him, 
“Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.”


20 Being asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come, Jesus answered them, “The Kingdom of God is not coming in ways that can be observed, 21 nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ 

For behold, the Kingdom of God is in the Midst of you.”


The day of our Visitation is, Give us the Day. Eternity begins today. And be filled with Thanks.

One of the common occurrences of the Miracles of God and His Son in the Holy Spirit, is suffering.  The relief and the cessation of suffering. Fresh Joy. New Hope. A Better Path Forward. 

And once we have found our feet, our Promises fulfilled, we want to have more. True. Fact. 

The Word of God is living. We feel within our souls, the man who gave thanks, his Way was more profound, more meaningful, with greater beams of joy. A peace within.

Real Joy and Giving Thanks. 


Abba, Father,

When we read about Handsome Dog Frank's medical ordeal spanning months, 
we read about the patience of Montgomery County Animal Shelter in Conroe, Texas.
MCAS 8535 Hwy 242 Conroe, Texas 77385   936-442-7738

This MCAS Shelter does all they can for the animals within. Kittens have many fosters and do better in a quieter home. So many adept Fosters. To adopt a cat, these volunteers will show up with 4 people and 40 kittens brought to Petsmart. This is Quite An Operation of Love! We adopted two purrfections and two is the perfect number. Or 3. Or a family of the furries.

I've heard volunteers tell me, this Shelter has more volunteers than any other they know of. Before the Pandemic, there were Adoption events in different locations. From time to time, they announce they need Adoptions and they are FREE.  What happens? A literal traffic jam. Once time they adopted out almost all the animals. Let's say that again, ALL. 

When you go to adopt a dog and end up naming him Jackson. You will find volunteers are taking the dogs on walks, or playing or bathing, and they allow you to walk the dog you will love for the next decade. A great way to find your best dog! 

We have 2 dogs and this is wonderful to see the animals play together. The dogs find our cats very watchable and nose sniff worthy. The cats lean into the dogs and rub. Happy mom, happy wife, happy life!
