John 12:14-16

14 And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written,

15 “Fear not, daughter of Zion;

behold, your king is coming,

sitting on a donkey's colt!”

16 His disciples did not understand these things at first, 

but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and had been done to him.

The Video is similar to Jesus finding a donkey.

Not a long-time pet.

The Possibilities within the Scripture. Are what God is telling us!

Very much so, people are relating their tender hearts to their pets during the Pandemic recovery. And other people enjoy observing this to see tenderness in communications has not moved very far away.

Proverbs tells us a good man is good to the animals. Allowing an ox to graze during harvesting.

The donkey video relates what my brother's family found on their 6 acres in New Mexico. They adopted one donkey from a rescue and found the donkey was miserable. Returning two weeks later to find what they could do to make the donkey happier, they discovered an ancient donkey, who adopted their donkey during their time at the Donkey Rescue. When my brother returned with the bff ancient donkey, suddenly they discovered Donkey Love and Bliss. And their original donkey was seedling pregnant, bringing Donkeys to 3 in number. They were overjoyed, having discovered the wonders of donkeys, even when the first donkey was mourning. And the children loved when the donkeys snuck into the house.

The Scripture of John 12 says Jesus found a young donkey and suddenly the donkey has borrowed. or burrowed, the fame of Donkeys in the Bible. Donkeys are never considered unclean, as some of the more rules oriented books of the ancient Talmud feel about dogs. One could safely adore a donkey for utilitarian purposes. "We, of course, need the Donkey."  My father-in-law, Buddy, fell in love with Judy's, his wife's, cocker spaniel mix. Bijou looked like a Cocker Spaniel Benji Dog. Buddy didn't admit this, he had a Labrador for hunting and affection. But on some days, one could find Buddy, during his retirement years, cooing and sitting on the floor, feeding and being with beautiful Bijou. 

In fact, my father-in-law, who had a seat on Wall Street, felt good deeds were best done in private. Utter privacy. So, no one would consider a brave man too soft or compliant. And Buddy cared for his literally 100-year-old grandmother, moving her a few blocks from his home, his four children, wife, several businesses, his mother, a great aunt and later any member of his family who needed his care. Their live-in maid was, actually, Buddy's Nanny, Mary. You can bet, no one on their neighborhood street, knew this. Mary and Buddy eventually had some altercation tiff. Mary decided to move to West Texas and be with her family. All were astonished. And one day the phone rang and a relative of Mary's said Mary was in the hospital with cancer. Buddy flew out, paid the hospital bill, discovered no one had visited Mary, took her back to Dallas and, later, paid for her burial and funeral, he arranged.  Buddy's mother loved parties and made literal bathtub gin. In their younger days, his flapper parents were always at a party. Mary found Buddy was hugging his mother's clothes goodnight every evening. And the die was cast and set.

Why people find Donkeys to be something to hold on to. 

Like David did for his donkey. They feel safe and filled with JOY! Smart Donkeys!

What is Jesus telling us about Himself?



Zechariah 9:9-10   written in 587 B.C.

9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!

Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem!

Behold, your King is coming to you;

righteous and having salvation is He,

humble and mounted on a donkey,

on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

10 I will cut off
 the chariot from Ephraim

and the war horse from Jerusalem;

and the battle bow 
shall be cut off

And He shall speak Peace to the nations

His rule shall be from sea to sea

and from the River to the ends of the earth.

People ask Bible questions about Jesus and dogs. Did Jesus talk about dogs? 

Yes, and Jesus spoke of wanting to be the comfort of his flock.

Let Your Words of Life be the Light guiding us to be the Children of God.

In Jesus, we know You long to hold us and we to be held to You.

Matthew 10:29 

Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? 

And one of them shall not fall on the ground 

apart from the will of your Father.

Jesus left Judea, went to Tyre, all knew Him and He went into a house to take shelter and teach. A woman came, from yet another country, and begged Jesus to heal her daughter from a demon. Jesus evidently knew something was not what Jews would consider Kosher going on. Jesus'  Words sound as if He knew something in her life was not as it should be. Something she wasn't saying.

Mark 7

24 And from there He arose and went away to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 

And He entered a house and did not want anyone to know, yet he could not be hidden. 25 But immediately a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit heard of him and came and fell down at his feet. 

26 Now the woman was a Gentile, a Syrophoenician by birth. And she begged him to cast the demon out of her daughter. 

27 And he said to her, “Let the children be fed first, for it is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs.” 

28 But she answered him, “Yes, Lord; yet even the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs.” 

29 And he said to her, “For this statement you may go your way; the demon has left your daughter.” 30 And she went home and found the child lying in bed and the demon gone.

We are all familiar with Mark 7 and the Canaanite woman's humble request.  The reference is that dogs are part of life. And are fed from the table. The comfort of a dog being at our feet. Our willingness to not store food for later use, but sharing of life sustenance. 

 In this time of entitlement for hurt feelings and wayward outspokenness, Jesus is saying He is willing. Jesus is there for those with loyalty, devotion and some humility. 

Dogs love beyond measure. 

One of our Springer Spaniel dogs loved, adored and followed our toddlers. One day, the child picked up a bat and let the old dog feel the bat as hard as he could. Human beings would be wary, to finished with the relationship. The old dog was pretty badly injured and I was ashamed the child had done this. 

We diligently explained and prayed and rubbed the dog's back.  We kept praying and hoping this Spencer dog's incredible love, loyalty and kindness would be repayed to Spencer by the Lord, with healing for his injured back. The Vet had not given a lot of hope. We would just rub his back and pray. That Spencer dog fully recovered. Boy Doggie. Lamb. Our Spencer always smiled. He was the smilingest dog ever. Spencer was just a dog who always felt Blessed. The Lord Jesus Christ was good to Spencer beyond his circumstances. And our small boy was given the comfort of forgiveness, on many of God's levels. A good soul.

Romans 8:26-30

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 

27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose

. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

We all get to a place where we need a decision. And when we are there, we can bet the Holy Spirit prays with us.

Catholics love to say pray and pay the light bill. Absolutely. Pray and do what we can do.

The Larger part is this:
What did the people who had seen Jesus say about the willingness of God ~ Peter wrote saying Jesus does not help us under compulsion. He helps willingly. When we pray for ourselves and for others.

1 Peter 5:2

Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly--not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God.

1 John 3:1

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!

Jude 1:2

Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance.

James 1:12

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

And the faith of being able to cast our cares upon HIM to sustain us -

New wine - being changed by Jesus, seeing our lives as a gift from God and for God, not just another salmon swimming upstream without hope and going through the daily work. Old wine - what is valued, mellowed, cherished. What is Jesus telling us? We cannot change, cannot save ourselves. We cannot do it ourselves. With God all things are possible. Every day, we take our old wine - the things we value, the things the world expects, old hurts, the things that concern us. And we put them before God - the new wine of the Holy Spirit. Then we see the blessings and we thank Him.

Blessed be God, who creates light out of darkness.

We are new creatures in Christ Jesus, not controlled by the old values, but placing ourselves in front of Father God as His children.

Isaiah 45:

I am the LORD, and there is no other;

apart from me there is no God.

I will strengthen you

Abba, Father,

Father God we weep with those who weep, because life has taught us to do that. 

Let us remember that in faith we can laugh at the time to come. Our future is Your hands. We hope to have Your face, Father God, to shine upon us.

 In Jesus Christ, let us put real hope in the revealing of His purpose for us. 

Rejoicing in all life is given through Jesus Christ. Trusting again.

When we moved back from Nice, France (my father was an Engineer with Texas Instruments), my father got us tickets to sail on the Queen Mary, but they had a strike and, instead, we came back on the SS Rotterdam. I was young and very upset to see the tugboat leave us out of the harbor. The adults thought I was so cute and all explained the tugboat wasn't needed. Na, I was very correct.

Back in the days when people usually traveled by ocean liner and fewer for airplanes, due to the remnants of glamour and tradition, there weren't many radars. In fact, it wasn't until 1992 many tornadoes were known in advance because the 1945-invented Doppler wasn't in massive production for usage. And if there was a hurricane in the late 1960s, the ocean liners knew about where the hurricane traveled, but the remnants, who tracked?  

That tugs probably knew more than we did, as we arrived 3 days away from the United States. It was a 7 day trip, with our belongings being moved in the ship's hull. The fourth night, we all dressed for dinner, every night, and that night I had on a velvet dress. The first night it was rough. My parents had unusually been placed at a table with the 3 of us. And I became motion sick. And began to hack, as in vomit. And I did. About that time, the ship, hit the next wave and my parents and the table remained crystal clean.  Not my velvet dress. The Captain suggested we should all go back to our rooms. It was the first time we noticed the hallways were lined with rails, and we used them. Everyone did. Back in the room, that night, I fell out of bed. 

The next day, food was brought to the room. All day in the room. That evening, we all traveled back to the dining room. The stairs had people diligently using the rail and moving very slowly. As we got to the dining room, the tables began to slide around the large room. We wondered if the windows would be damaged. And back to the cabin room. I was upset, I was hungry. I seem to remember, no one had any dinner. My father arranged luggage around me to keep me in the bed.  He said if the luggage flew off the bed, they would come get me and put me with them.

The next morning, all was fine. Sunshine. Very, very cold. I had on woolen gloves. We all sat on the wooden lounge chairs on the deck, we would see the United States, New York City, that morning. It was my first view of the United States, the Lady Liberty Statue. We went back into the dining room for as much hot chocolate as was wanted and had a much longed for breakfast. Nourished and warm, safely landed on the shores of the United States of America.

I didn't go back on a ship until 2018, we went on a Cruise of Alaska. As we pulled into the port of Victoria, Canada, the ship next to us was Zaandam.  Edward and I had to laugh, when the children were young, I'd accidentally run their names together and Yell, "Zaandam!"  We took... several photos.

The next ship we would dock next to ....

Turns out, the Rotterdam began moving walls and improving the internal architecture of the ships to bring back cruising as airlines began to take over travel plans. And the beautiful interior of the SS Rotterdam turned the tides on cruise for vacation travel. The industry changed as the SS Rotterdam improved with glass staircases and more pleasant interiors. Doppler Radar and massive communications is a bonus as well.

What did we learn from our ocean voyage so many decades ago?

We pray for the Lower Mississippi River Valley

God Speed with recovery

and Comfort as they mourn the 26 who

died in Tornadoes.

We pray for housing to be safely

built across the USA

and in Tornadoes and Hurricanes.

Roofing again to have tar in the process and

walls to hold the tar. My great uncle's roof,

he did himself, with tar, lasted 50 years.

And they had a very small tornado in their yard,

seen by the highway drivers and reported in the paper.

My neighbor is from Wadena, Minnesota

and she said, the tornadoes didn't attack

rooms with a cross. So many walls were

left with a cross. The next Sunday,

Churches were packed with people,

as if it was Easter Sunday.

I pray Mississippi River Lower

 Valley will find the Lord

helping them during

this time.

My mother's roof has been fixed when

the quotes ran from 30 thousand

to 22 thousand, then a roofer climbed into the attic

and found the roof to be sound

we fixed it for under a thousand dollars by sealing

the vents properly!!!
