Matthew 6:7-15
“And when you pray,
do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do,
for they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
Pray then like this:
Our Father in Heaven,
1 John 1:5-7
And this is the message which we have heard from Him
and
announce unto you,
that God is Light,
and in Him is no darkness at all.
John 1:3
All things were made through Him,
and without Him
was not any thing made
that was made.
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your Kingdom Come,
Your Will be done,
on earth
as it is in Heaven.
Give us this Day
our daily bread
Forgive us our trespasses,
as we also have forgiven those
who trespass against us.
Romans 13:11
Besides this you know the time,
that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep.
For salvation
is nearer
to us now
than
when we first believed
And lead us not into temptation,
Deliver us from evil.
For if you forgive others their trespasses,
your Heavenly Father will also forgive you,
but if you do not forgive others their trespasses,
neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Even in Lent
If marriage is not to be taken lightly, then Salvation must be even more considered for the Eternity of Salvation.
Just as it is in forgiveness. If we treat all things lightly, nothing has meaning. And will not dwell in a heart with the treasures of a tender heart of Love.
Draw what is worthy near you, but remember
Proverbs 4:23
Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.
A heart filled with bitterness is a sorry place to live. And in forgiveness we find our path to the Lord and His way of Joy and Love and Peace.
Matthew 13:46
When he found one very precious pearl,
he went away
and sold all he had
and
bought it.
This parable is easy to say and repeat, but does have the process of time
without the leisure of rest and waiting.
Proverbs 2:4
if you seek it like silver and search it out
like hidden treasure
Forgiveness is a gate. To allow God's Love and Joy, the Joy of the Lord, is our Strength. The Gates of Heaven do not close.
Psalm 16:11
You make known to me
the path of life;
in Your Presence there is fullness of joy;
at Your Right Hand are pleasures forevermore.
Proverbs 4:26
Ponder the path of your feet;
then all your ways will be sure.
Jude 1:22
And have mercy on those who doubt
1 John 4:1
There is no fear in love,
but perfect love casts out fear.
For fear has to do with punishment,
and whoever fears
has not
been perfected
in love.
1 Peter 5:7
Casting all your anxieties on Him,
because
He cares for you.
James 1:6
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting,
for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea
that is driven
and tossed
by the wind.
One of the most perfect examples of Forgiveness is Jacob. Israel.
Why Israel does not cease to exist - - - Today.
Jacob is confronted in a whirlwind of events.
They are dying of famine. And have for decades. He is resolved to leave God's Promises and go forth. Minus the woman he loved, who very imperfectly loved him. Protecting even the women his wives have given him. Sheltering these children. In famine. Minus the child of his heart, gone for many, many years.
To find the impossible is possible. His Joseph is Visor for the Pharaoh of Egypt, where all the grain and goods of the world are seen in every direction. And his children he has fought for so diligently have ruined their lives with lies, misdirection and the hard fight of life. Jacob finds his son Ruben came so close to making the misery stop, saving Joseph, and has lived the lie instead. And even if Bilhah was just the woman his wives insisted become part of power for sons game, Ruben has slept with a wife of his. Bilhah, a woman he has given shelter, respect and children. Apparently with care, heart and affection. Never tossing them out in famine.
As Jacob is dying, he has no wish to raise up what isn't worthy. And Jacob tells us about forgiveness. He does not whitewash the sin. The selfishness. He tells them the truth, the details. And he raises up Joseph, with his sons, as his own sons. Ruben, who had missed being the key to far less misery. Ruben is blessed. All are blessed in the degree that God allows with their gifts and heart and ability.
Jacob rests. Jacob has not been asked for forgiveness. And in his heart he blesses them all. He rests in the Peace of God. Doing all the Good he could do. Even on the days of famine and disaster.
