Psalm 89:2-5, 27, 29
2 For thy steadfast love was established for ever, thy faithfulness is firm as the heavens.3 Thou hast said, "I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant:
4 `I will establish your descendants for ever, and build your throne for all generations.'" [Selah]
5 Let the heavens praise thy wonders, O LORD, thy faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones!
27 And I will make him the first-born, the highest of the kings of the earth.
28 My steadfast love I will keep for him for ever, and my covenant will stand firm for him.
29 I will establish his line for ever and his throne as the days of the heavens.
We all have one Christmas miracle that speaks to the verse:
1 Kings 19:12
After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.
Each year, around the Christian world on Christmas Day, you can see the gentle stillness and peace that rests on the earth. The hospital parking lots become emptier, everyone who can make it home - goes. Inside our houses there are Christmas meals, Christmas visits, Christmas phone calls, but the world becomes very peaceful.
Luke 2:13-15 (Listen)
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”
15 When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”
