John 20
Now
on the first day of the week
Mary Magdalene came to the tomb
Now
after the Sabbath,
toward the dawn of the first day of the week,
Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.
And behold,
there was a great earthquake,
for an angel of the Lord descended from Heaven
and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.
His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.
And for fear of him
the guards trembled and became like dead men.
But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid!
For I know that you seek Jesus!
Who was crucified.
He is not here!
For
He has risen, as He said!
Come, see the place where He lay.
Then go quickly and tell His disciples that
He has risen from the dead,
and behold,
He is going before you to Galilee; there you will see Him.
See, I have told you!”
So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy,
and ran
to tell His disciples.
And behold,
Jesus met them and said,
“Greetings!”
And they came up and took hold of His feet
and worshiped Him.
Then Jesus said to them,
“Do not be afraid;
go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee,
and there they will see Me.”
The reflection of Holy Week. Bringing the Lord Jesus Christ this year we have lived. What we have done and what we have left undone. Seeking the tenderness of Jesus and His Exact Nature of God.
Knowing the Sorrow from what Jesus has Suffered. Jesus' Blood spilled for me. Jesus' Blood spilled for you.
Who we want to be for Jesus Christ, the Only Son of God.
The times since the plague and the offhand ways mankind has coped. Seeing logic fail to connect. Bringing Jesus the knowledge we have learned, understanding more of the illogical days of this time, the first Easter. Wrapping our minds around this new understanding.
Remembering we did not ever know the reality.
Seeing the Gospels connect to what we know today.
Mark 5:1-20
The man who cut himself with stones while living among the tombs is the demon-possessed man healed by Jesus in the region of the Gerasenes/Gadarenes. Healing from Jesus Christ.
The chaos and moral shift seen in The Temple chosen by Herod and he was divorced, married to his sister-in-law. Described in Isaiah 7.
The extreme mood swings of the crowds. The faith of Israel rising. The vast crowds.
The Light does overcome the darkness.
