Psalm 135 ~ Praise the Name of the Lord! Exodus 34 to Jeremiah 31 †



Psalm 135


1 Praise the Lord.

Praise the name of the Lord;
praise him, you servants of the Lord,
2 you who minister in the house of the Lord,
in the courts of the house of our God.

3 Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;
sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant.

4 For the Lord has chosen Jacob to be his own,
Israel to be his treasured possession.

5 I know that the Lord is great,
that our Lord is greater than all gods.

6 The Lord does whatever pleases him,
in the heavens and on the earth,
in the seas and all their depths.

7 He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth;
he sends lightning with the rain
and brings out the wind from his storehouses.




Lent is a time we consider all the aspects of life and death. We consider how Jesus would find Life such Joy to approach death.

And we wonder what purpose God the Almighty would have, other than maturity, for suffering. We are His Treasured People.

When we look at Scripture we find the words 'anger' and 'fear' are used with recurring frequency. A friend of mine was amazed looking at the 40 year desert of the Exodus and realized she would have been part of the people complaining.



When God spoke the Big Bang Words, He said, "Let there be Light."

Genesis 1:3-5

3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.


God was sorting Light from dark.

If we had never known trouble in life,
we would do what we do after we live enormous blessings - Complain.

 How can we say we are Blessed, if we never know hunger, fear, anger, injustice and then we are Blessed to know God's Protection.



Isaiah 2:1-5

The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

2 It shall come to pass in the latter days
that the mountain of the house of the Lord
shall be established as the highest of the mountains,
and shall be lifted up above the hills

And all the nations shall flow to it,




3 and many peoples shall come, and say:
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the house of the God of Jacob

That He may teach us his ways
and that we may walk in his paths.”

For out of Zion shall go forth the law,
and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

4 He shall judge between the nations

and shall decide disputes for many peoples

And they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
and their spears into pruning hooks;
nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war anymore.

5 O house of Jacob,
come, let us walk
in the light of the Lord.






What will our Father, the Almighty, Maker of Heaven and earth do teaching us the difference between earth and the Kingdom of Heaven Jesus has paid to Give to His Father Brand New.

In this Life, God has told us Jesus is Living Water.

Why would God make this distinction of Living Water? 


Jesus is Merciful.

Water will wear down. Jesus will not. Father God does not require His Beloved are defeated.

Jesus tells us the work of mankind is to Believe the One God has sent.








Psalm 135:7-9

7 He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth;
he sends lightning with the rain
and brings out the wind from his storehouses.

8 He struck down the firstborn of Egypt,
the firstborn of people and animals.
9 He sent his signs and wonders into your midst, Egypt,
against Pharaoh and all his servants.

One of the signs of the Old Testament in the Exodus was the striking down of animals and first born children. Moses told the Children of Israel God expects us to be Yar. Reverent of God. Trying to build up the community. Trying to build up our lives. To be a Light to the Nations. The Old Covenant of God says:

Exodus 34

5 Then the Lord came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the Lord. 6 And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, 7 maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.”

8 Moses bowed to the ground at once and worshiped. 9 “Lord,” he said, “if I have found favor in your eyes, then let the Lord go with us. Although this is a stiff-necked people, forgive our wickedness and our sin, and take us as your inheritance.”

10 Then the Lord said: “I am making a covenant with you. Before all your people I will do wonders never before done in any nation in all the world. The people you live among will see how awesome is the work that I, the Lord, will do for you. 11 Obey what I command you today.

The New Covenant is explained by Jeremiah saying we are responsible to present ourselves to God and responsible for our own lives and goodness of heart, word and deeds. Consider with me, we know the plagues killed children and animals as the Exodus did. The old and the young are typically involved in illness. This time - like the Aids Epidemic of Africa - where hundreds of orphans were left to learn farming in Church groups of the small farms left to them. Consider this virus is unique to skip the children. And greet the news saying, God is Good. God is Good to the Children. New Covenant. We seek, not as Moses was told not to see God's Glory - we are told in the Lord's Prayer from John's visit to Jesus in Heaven - we are told to seek God's Glory.

I Believe we live in a time of Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ Revival.
A Time of Great Mercy in Jesus Christ.


Jeremiah 31:1-34




“At that time, declares the Lord, I will be the God of all the clans of Israel, 

and they shall be my people.”



2 Thus says the Lord:

“The people who survived the sword
found grace in the wilderness;
when Israel sought for rest,
3 the Lord appeared to him from far away.
I have loved you with an everlasting love;
therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.
4 Again I will build you, and you shall be built,
O virgin Israel!
Again you shall adorn yourself with tambourines
and shall go forth in the dance of the merrymakers.



5 Again you shall plant vineyards

on the mountains of Samaria;
the planters shall plant
and shall enjoy the fruit.
6 For there shall be a day when watchmen will call
in the hill country of Ephraim:
‘Arise, and let us go up to Zion,
to the Lord our God.’”



7 For thus says the Lord:

“Sing aloud with gladness for Jacob,
and raise shouts for the chief of the nations;
proclaim, give praise, and say,
‘O Lord, save your people,
the remnant of Israel.’
8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country
and gather them from the farthest parts of the earth,
among them the blind and the lame,
the pregnant woman and she who is in labor, together;
a great company, they shall return here.
9 With weeping they shall come,
and with pleas for mercy I will lead them back,



I will make them walk by brooks of water,

in a straight path in which they shall not stumble,
for I am a father to Israel,
and Ephraim is my firstborn.



10 “Hear the word of the Lord, O nations,

and declare it in the coastlands far away;
say, ‘He who scattered Israel will gather him,
and will keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.’



11 For the Lord has ransomed Jacob

and has redeemed him from hands too strong for him.
12 They shall come and sing aloud on the height of Zion,
and they shall be radiant over the goodness of the Lord,
over the grain, the wine, and the oil,
and over the young of the flock and the herd;


their life shall be like a watered garden


And they shall languish no more.

13 Then shall the young women rejoice in the dance,
and the young men and the old shall be merry.



I will turn their mourning into joy;

I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow.
14 I will feast the soul of the priests with abundance,
and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness,
declares the Lord.”



15 Thus says the Lord:

“A voice is heard in Ramah,
lamentation and bitter weeping.
Rachel is weeping for her children;
she refuses to be comforted for her children,
because they are no more.”



16 Thus says the Lord:

“Keep your voice from weeping,
and your eyes from tears,
for there is a reward for your work,
declares the Lord



And they shall come back from the land of the enemy.

17 There is hope for your future,
declares the Lord,
and your children shall come back to their own country.



18 I have heard Ephraim grieving,

‘You have disciplined me, and I was disciplined,
like an untrained calf;
bring me back that I may be restored,
for you are the Lord my God.
19 For after I had turned away, I relented,
and after I was instructed, I struck my thigh;
I was ashamed, and I was confounded,
because I bore the disgrace of my youth.’



20 Is Ephraim my dear son?



Is he my darling child?



For as often as I speak against him,

I do remember him still.
Therefore my heart yearns for him;
I will surely have mercy on him,
declares the Lord.



21 “Set up road markers for yourself;

make yourself guideposts;
consider well the highway,
the road by which you went.
Return, O virgin Israel,
return to these your cities.
22 How long will you waver,
O faithless daughter?
For the Lord has created a new thing on the earth:
a woman encircles a man.”



23 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Once more they shall use these words in the land of Judah and in its cities, when I restore their fortunes:



“‘The Lord bless you, O habitation of righteousness,

O holy hill!’



24 And Judah and all its cities shall dwell there together, and the farmers and those who wander with their flocks. 25 For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.”


26 At this I awoke and looked, and my sleep was pleasant to me.



27 “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man and the seed of beast. 28 And it shall come to pass that as I have watched over them to pluck up and break down, to overthrow, destroy, and bring harm, so I will watch over them to build and to plant, declares the Lord. 29 In those days they shall no longer say:



“‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes,and the children's teeth are set on edge.’



30 But everyone shall die for his own iniquity. 
Each man who eats sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge.



The New Covenant

31 “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, 32 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord. 33 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 



34 And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. 

For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”



Actually this virus might be the world's largest Pet Rock 
or Pandemic of the World Wide Health Organization, 
but either way 
It's Wondrous and Amazing the Children 
are not really becoming sick.



Philippians 4
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things and the God of peace will be with you.

14 Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they quickly brought him out of the pit. And when he had shaved himself and changed his clothes, he came in before Pharaoh. 

15 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I have had a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.” 

16 Joseph answered Pharaoh, “It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favorable answer.”

 17 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Behold, in my dream I was standing on the banks of the Nile. 18 Seven cows, plump and attractive, came up out of the Nile and fed in the reed grass. 19 Seven other cows came up after them, poor and very ugly and thin, such as I had never seen in all the land of Egypt. 20 And the thin, ugly cows ate up the first seven plump cows, 21 but when they had eaten them no one would have known that they had eaten them, for they were still as ugly as at the beginning. Then I awoke. 22 I also saw in my dream seven ears growing on one stalk, full and good. 23 Seven ears, withered, thin, and blighted by the east wind, sprouted after them, 24 and the thin ears swallowed up the seven good ears. And I told it to the magicians, but there was no one who could explain it to me.”

25 Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, “The dreams of Pharaoh are one; God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do. 26 The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good ears are seven years; the dreams are one. 27 The seven lean and ugly cows that came up after them are seven years, and the seven empty ears blighted by the east wind are also seven years of famine. 28 It is as I told Pharaoh; God has shown to Pharaoh what he is about to do. 29 There will come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt, 30 but after them there will arise seven years of famine, and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt. The famine will consume the land, 31 and the plenty will be unknown in the land by reason of the famine that will follow, for it will be very severe. 

2 And the doubling of Pharaoh's dream means that the thing is fixed by God, and God will shortly bring it about. 33 Now therefore let Pharaoh select a discerning and wise man, and set him over the land of Egypt. 34 Let Pharaoh proceed to appoint overseers over the land and take one-fifth of the produce of the land of Egypt during the seven plentiful years. 35 And let them gather all the food of these good years that are coming and store up grain under the authority of Pharaoh for food in the cities, and let them keep it. 36 That food shall be a reserve for the land against the seven years of famine that are to occur in the land of Egypt, so that the land may not perish through the famine.”


37 This proposal pleased Pharaoh and all his servants. 
38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find a man like this, in whom is the Spirit of God?”39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has shown you all this, there is none so discerning and wise as you are. 40 You shall be over my house, and all my people shall order themselves as you command. Only as regards the throne will I be greater than you.” 

41 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.” 

42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph's hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain about his neck. 43 And he made him ride in his second chariot. And they called out before him, “Bow the knee!” 

 Thus he set him over all the land of Egypt. 

44 Moreover, Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no one shall lift up hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.”

 45 And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphenath-paneah. And he gave him in marriage Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera priest of On. So Joseph went out over the land of Egypt.

  1. In Ramses II's topographical list (ca.1275 BC) the place-name "Jacob-El" (#9) appears again (ANET 1969, 242; Simons 1937). The first appearance was in Thutmose III's list. This means that this city of Jacob has been around for two hundred years. Another interesting name that was found is yhw which is "Yahweh" in Hebrew (Horn 1953, 201; Giveon 1964, 244).
  2. It seems abundantly clear from all these topographical lists concerning Canaan that the Hebrews were in Canaan at this time, but they did not use the name "Israel" until there league of tribes was well formed by the time of Merneptah.
  1. On a statue-base of Amenhotep III at Kom el Hetan which is the funerary temple of Amenhotep III there is a topographical list with the place-name Yspir (Series a:1; Kitchen 1965, 2). This is the same name translated "Joseph-El" in Thutmose III's Topographical list (ANET 1969, 242). After Yspir in both lists the place-name Rkd appears (Series a:2 in Amenhotep III's list, and #79 in Thutmose III's list; Simons 1937, 112). Rkd is the same place-name as Ruhizzi in the El Amarna letters (EA 53:36, 56; EA 5426; EA 56:26; EA 191:2; Rainey 1982, 354). The ruler of Ruhizzi is Arsawuya who seems to be located in northern Palestine or southern Syria (EA 53:36, 56; Moran, 125)
On a statue of Amenhotep III at Kom el Hetan - Amenhotep’s funeral statue has a base and on the base of the statue is "Joseph-el". Joseph of God. Referring to Joseph who predicted the huge famine, and became Visor to Pharaoh. Joseph Messenger of God.



Amenhotep III has a mortuary palace in Kom el Hetan where it was only discovered in 2009. The papyrus at the bases of the statues have provided interesting clues to Joseph. It was the next generation of Pharaoh's to become determined to have Egypt only worship One God. The site is on going and currently not open to the public.

The papyrus mentioning Joseph at the base of the Pharaoh statue is dates the Exodus about 1447-1446 B.C. which also connects when the words Joseph, Israel, Goshen, Yahweh appear in tax records and official Egyptian documents, census and tax records.

The point for today is - it was the next Pharaoh's generation who watched as the adults went about every day and then that generation fought for Egypt to be under One God. And this makes our lives not important just to our piers, but also to the next generations. The people of God create works of God that He will want to bring forth again.



Archaeology is interesting. We find we are the generation all of the factors have begun to show up. Wondrous.

The Book of Esther is all about God working through people in ordinary and brave life.

When we see Joseph, we find another aspect of God. Joseph has had dreams and has provoked his siblings with the Coat of Many Colors and dreaming of being Vizier of Egypt.



Abba, Our Father,

Help us to walk in the Paths You have for us.


In the Name of Jesus help us to find You and Your Kingdom first. Help us to live Life in Love, Peace and Joy.


Please fill us with Your Holy Spirit, Your Comfort, Your Comforter to be guided to stay in Your Plan and Path from Your Book of Life. Protect us to be in Your Hope and Future. Exercise Your Word and we will be encouraged and led by Your Love and Word.

We ask in Jesus for Your Willing Blessings. We wondrously see all Your Abilities and ask to see these Blessings as David asked even for his children to see your Wondrous Works. Enable us to complete all the Good Works You have for us to do.

Help us to walk in the Path You have for us seeing why Jesus found this Life Joy. Numbers 6 asks for the Gift of Peace. Let us experience and lean upon Your Very Own Peace.


Bless us, we ask in Jesus, to defeat this Virus and the barrier in our food supplies all over the world.


Protect our Loved Ones and families to live in Peace and dwell in Mercy. Being Healed. Give us each day the gifts and we will see Heaven each day in our souls. Being given Jesus in our souls.


We thank You for help to lean into Your Willing Blessings. Hearing people say, "God Bless You" again.

1 John 1 ~ from the Beginning





1 John 1



That which was from the beginning, 
which we have heard, 
which we have seen with our eyes, 
which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, 
concerning The Word of Life— 

2 The life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us— 3 that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you

So that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. 

4 And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.

5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you,
 that God is light, 
and in him is no darkness at all. 

6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 

8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.






John's Gospel in 2015 ~ fragment 2 x 3.5" was considered to be First Century.
There are at least four methods for determining the dates of ancient manuscripts:

radiocarbon (carbon-14) testing of the manuscript
palaeography (handwriting analysis) of the manuscript
analysis of the archaeological context surrounding the manuscript
comparison of the manuscript with associated writings

As Peter Williams points out, 1-2 will not help researchers reach a date as precise as AD 80 or 90. That leaves 3-4.

But even this makes it difficult to reach a certain conclusion. Williams explains a best-case scenario:

If for convenience we suppose that [1] other manuscripts in the mask are ones with dates that survive (remembering that for a majority of texts no date survives) and [2] that the mask luckily enough contains four texts with firm date formulae (which would be really nice, but quite unlikely) and that these date formulae show manuscripts from the years 50, 60, 70 and 80, [then] that would still not mean that they could not be put together with a manuscript from considerably later than the year 90 to make a mummy mask.

The double negative in the last clause is a little confusing. Williams means that even if conditions were ideal, it still wouldn’t preclude the fragment itself from being later than the other fragments surrounding it. The other possibility, of course, is that somehow the archaeological context itself would date the mummy mask to a specific decade, though this would be unusual.

How should we respond to something like this?

I think it’s appropriate to be hopeful. 
As an evangelical, I believe the best historical evidence points to the New Testament gospels composed in the first century: Mark (mid- to late 50s), Matthew (50s or 60s), Luke (c. 58-60), John (mid- or late 80s or early 90s). If this discovery doesn’t pan out, it doesn’t affect our dating of the gospels because the dating of the autographs (the originals) is not dependent upon the dating of manuscripts (the copies). If it does pan out—especially if it can be dated with confidence to the 80s—it would be a major discovery, because the oldest of anything is always noteworthy.

We stand on a Foundation of Jesus Christ. And the rest is lovely, but the Center is Jesus Christ.

There is simply too much archaeology to not have Enjoyment and Faith and Hope. Vastly Interesting. With History and recognized Historians. This is just Joy.

Why would John, as a human being, want to walk with Jesus. Peter proclaimed himself to be a sinner and hoped Jesus would move along. John tells us we can look forward to - - His Joy, Our Joy making Complete Joy.

Knowing no one is without sin. Jesus tells us God alone is Good. Jesus both delighted in mankind seeing into hearts and Jesus says He did not entrust Himself into mankind. Making the Word of God about our Father God. And for us to please and approach God boldly and with confidence, we believe God makes us Clean in Jesus and in His Righteousness.




John looks Up.
This is the path from Patmos village near the sea, leading uphill to the Cave John lived in overlooking the Ocean and the island. John's life is the longest, going into the 2nd Century and John's Books look upon a life of Walking with Jesus and finding John's thoughts on a long life John has been given. John delights on into the Second Century on God's Love and Joy.

John condensed all of John's Gospels and Books into writing, "God is Love."

Proverbs 8 tells us in the Beginning, The Father Delighted in His Son, His Son delighted in The Father and the Son delighted in His Father's Master Workmanship, knowing Jesus would arrive here to have Joy doing the Good Works God would Give Jesus to Do. The Father didn't send a young boy to cope as Messiah. The One of Father and Son created Complete Joy in the Works of Jesus and His Joy.


John's Cave did not have neon signs and Oaks of Mamre.
John's cave might have been difficult to find in the middle of a sheep field. Just as the early years of Jesus were not told. Jesus delighted in the Master Workmanship and in these years of Jesus growing up, the obscure years of early childhood and manhood - we do know the Beginning - Jesus was having Fellowship with God. Joy of being One with God. Jesus was living and walking with God in His Light.

The Ministry of Jesus reflects all Jesus has thought about and learned about God. The Son of God did not spring up like 2 minute popcorn from the microwave.  Nazareth childhood to Adult Capernaum: We read God's Chapters and find a depth to the Living Word of God and we will never run dry from Living Water of Jesus Christ. Jesus is Manifestly Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow the Living Word of God.


The Oneness of Jesus, The Light of the World, The Light of mankind - as a Child enjoyed children and childhood. The God of All did not rush through childhood to prepare. Jesus tells us Life is Joy. John 14, 15, 16 and 17. Before Abraham, Jesus existed. For a Life of Complete Joy, Jesus never brushed away children. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.



Hens lovingly care for their babies and their eggs.

Just as the Oneness of Jesus in Fellowship with His Father prepares Him to walk in the Joy of Life. And Prepares Jesus for the Works God has made for Him.









Abba, Father God,

You have Blessed us - in this time of uncertainty - for this illness is not to hurt the young. 




In every age of mankind, we can point to virtues in the age. 
Today, we can rejoice in the Love You have for not just the children being loved, we can rejoice in the goodness of the Parents to Love their Child. And find Light in the darkness of sorting out Covid 19.

John's long life recognized the Complete Joy of Jesus. Jesus told us to look! Brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4.


Psalm 36:7
7 How precious is your steadfast love, O God!
The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.


Psalm 57:1
A Miktam of David, when he fled from Saul, in the cave.
Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me,
for in you my soul takes refuge;
in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge,
till the storms of destruction pass by.


Psalm 63:7
For you have been my help,
and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy.

Our Father God Blessing us privilege, in Jesus, to ask more Heaven on earth.

Your Good Will. Our Hope and Future.

Jesus saves the world. Light of mankind. Light of the world.

We would place ourselves and Your Beloved in the Shadow of Your Wings.

We would ask Jesus to be Grace upon Grace and cover us forever in the Righteousness of Jesus.
