Matthew 2:16-18 ~ Comforted

Reprint chosen randomly, original Post on 12/31/2014

Matthew 2:16-18

16 Then Herod, when he saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, became furious, and he sent and killed all the male children in Bethlehem and in all that region who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men. 17 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Jeremiah:

18 “A voice was heard in Ramah,
weeping and loud lamentation,
Rachel weeping for her children;
she refused to be comforted, because they are no more.”

Scripture points out the reoccurrence of hearts.

The tomb of Rachel, “in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem” (Genesis 35:19), had been, probably from the day when the “pillar” which marked it was first set up, one of the sacred places of the land because Rachel is considered a spiritual mother for the Jews. I read today a scathing reply of the Messianic prophecies as being too wobbly to be believed - Matthew 2:18. Jeremiah 31:15 - being very unreliable. Really Rama belonged at one time to Benjamin.

Jesus went to the Samaritans in the fourth chapter in John's Gospel to tell for the first time plainly that He is the Messiah.

And just as Rachel and Benjamin were parted as well as Jacob - this is a reminder.

This is God, years later, reclaiming the remnant Samaritan Jews thrown out in the Reclamation of Jerusalem after 70 years of captivity in Babylon.

Jacob felt Rachel's death was the most difficult thing in life to bear. And Jesus is born where Rachel died. God did not just weep for Lazarus. God had aspects of life He would draw forth again to heal.

Just as Jesus spoke of the prophet Jonah, we do not know his fate - his salvation led on the help for Israel in Babylon and then Assyria. Emperor Nebuchadnezzar and the way of discovery the Babylonian Empire wanted to know more about the God of Daniel. Daniel in Daniel 1 was renamed as Belteshazzar, with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. The fruit of the work of God through Jonah. The slaves were giving prominent homes to meet in for Sabbath Worship of their God. And Ezekiel was given his own house by the river to have peace enough to hear again and again from God.

Father God does not require that we work and work and work. Jesus is there for those who seek Him. He promises Ask and He will be found.

Ezekiel 34
 - God is concerned with this life. And our welfare.

Ezekiel 34

23-24 “‘I’ll appoint one shepherd over them all: my servant David. He’ll feed them. He’ll be their shepherd. And I, God, will be their God. My servant David will be their prince. I, God, have spoken.

25-27 “‘I’ll make a covenant of peace with them. I’ll banish fierce animals from the country so the sheep can live safely in the wilderness and sleep in the forest. I’ll make them and everything around my hill a blessing. I’ll send down plenty of rain in season—showers of blessing! The trees in the orchards will bear fruit, the ground will produce, they’ll feel content and safe on their land, and they’ll realize that I am God when I break them out of their slavery and rescue them from their slave masters.

28-29 “‘No longer will they be exploited by outsiders and ravaged by fierce beasts. They’ll live safe and sound, fearless and free. I’ll give them rich gardens, lavish in vegetables—no more living half-starved, no longer taunted by outsiders.

30-31 “‘They’ll know, beyond doubting,
that I, God, am their God, that I’m with them
and that they, the people Israel, are my people.
Decree of God, the Master:

You are my dear flock,
the flock of my pasture, my human flock,
And I am your God.
Decree of God, the Master.’”

God is concerned with our heart. Our earnest heart.

When Tyre looted the ruined Jerusalem, glad for its destruction, God felt Tyre's hardness of heart.

Recently, Baylor University and University of North Caroline uncovered a mosaic of Ezekiel 26. Alexander the Great left the prophetic Tyre,  visited the Temple to bow to the representative of God. Because Alexander the Great found prophecy of God in His Word after making Tyre into mainland in a tremendous military campaign to reach the Island of Tyre.

Tyre- Her ships were never to be seen again, and the island never recovered.

Opposite of what  Israel did again and again with the blessing and help of Father God. We learn about resiliency from the faith of Israel and more importantly, the Mercy of God - God is Love.

Abba, Father,

We will all have laments before we depart this life. Of choices we made and of people we loved and lost for various reasons. Jesus knew about this and said:

Luke 8:52
Now they were all weeping and lamenting for her; but He said, "Stop weeping,
for she has not died, but is asleep."

You tell us this again when Ezekiel's wife died.

Ezekiel 24
Groan quietly; do not mourn for the dead.
Keep your turban fastened and your sandals on your feet;
do not cover your mustache and beard
or eat the customary food of mourners.

Jesus grabs and holds our hearts because He weeps for us and with us.

This is our Father God of Love.

He strengthens us to be real and not anything but earnest.

Providing the hope of real recovery.

We believe with You, Father God,
You have told us in Thessalonians we are informed, about those who asleep,
we will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope.

We believe Jesus died and rose again, even
and Y
ou will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus to eternal life in You.

Abba, Father God,

For Your Steadfast Love
reminding us of the
Blessings we have, we have forgotten to look at,
Thank You.

For the times when worries protrude,
You have the whole world in Your Hands
You have the whole world in Your Hands
and
You Uphold the Universe by Your Very Word.

You know all the Heavenly Host by Name.
And tenderly You hear our cares.

We will look to the future with Hope.

We will put aside all the brash and odd
crazy news of 2020, 2021
and
take up the mantle of Peace.
Deliberately.

Each Day we are Blessed to ask for more
More Heaven on earth.
More Give us This Day.
More Daily Bread.

The Universe is only upheld
by the
Power of Your Word.

May The Lord God Almighty
His Son Jesus
surround and uphold us
in This Peace.
The Peace is Upheld by God Himself
and
we ask
His Blessing and Favor.

The Lord's Prayer isn't filled with subtitles
or subsections, this doesn't encompass every concern and
ward off all anxieties down the road,
we merely put God's Word
on every aspect of Life
and Trust Him.

Gently, we hand You our Cares
knowing Your Hands hold
this so well.
Tenderly.
And we are Loved and Filled.

Dwell in us
and help us to be Pleasing to You
Dwell in those we Love and Honor
and help us to seek You first
to end well.

In the Highest Name of Jesus Christ
Alleluia

John 10:1-18 ~ His Voice

John 10:1-18

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber. 2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. 5 A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” 6 This figure of speech Jesus used with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them.

7 So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.

8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. 13 He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.

14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd. 17 For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again.

18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.”

We know the Gate Jesus entered into during Palm Sunday was the amazingly, rarely open, "Beautiful Gate" or "Sheep Gate."  We know Jesus taught us to pray, "Give us this Day."

A real Sheep Gate is a day to day, every day, thing. Easy to seek and find.

God does Have His Plan.

The usual door for sheep is really very ordinary and not very noticeable.  Jesus sometimes taught with Parables, but behind His Words, we find literal truth.

Look at the world around us, Jesus teaches, to find Joy.

Psalm 19:2-3
Day after day, they pour forth speech, night after night they reveal knowledge. Without speech or language, without a sound to be heard.

The Seed Parables encourages us to look at the world around us and see the message in literal growth. The Yeast Parable encourages us the same way. Sheep are the newest animal more and more people bring into their homes. Sheep are interesting.

Jesus is found in the ordinary portions of Life.  Mostly sheep will enter one Gate, and this leads to another field, probably similar to the last field.

Similar to, "Give us this Day." And Jesus found Joy in each Day. Talent, we would say, is gifted in the extraordinary.  Give us This Living Water, Lord Jesus!

Joy to take delight in life by observation.

Psalm 24:7-10

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors,
and
The King of Glory shall come in

So many days do what other days do. If we don't remain diligent, we become unprepared to see
what surprises we might find. We might fail to find the delight hidden in the day. If we are rusty without fresh gratitude. We have to have a reason to jump around a bit.

Jesus turned the world around.

Today, when we walk behind Jesus, we are filled with the awe of His Light.

By the end of Mark 1, Jesus' miracles have drawn so much attention, Jesus is not freely moving about:

Yes, the blind see, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor.
Luke 7:22

41 Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” 42 As soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed. 43 And He strictly warned him and sent him away at once, 44 and said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things which Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.” 45 However, he went out and began to proclaim it freely, and to spread the matter, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter the city, but was outside in deserted places;
and
they came to Him from every direction.

Jesus
John 15:11
These things I have spoken to you so that My Joy may be in you
and that your Joy
may be made Full.

In Mark 4, Jesus is telling what the Kingdom of Heaven is like. His disciples say this about Him:

41They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!"

Then one of the synagogue rulers, named Jairus, came there. Seeing Jesus, he fell at his feet 23and pleaded earnestly with him, "My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live."

Jesus responds: 24So Jesus went with him.
41 He took her by the hand and said to her, "Talitha koum!" (which means, "Little girl, I say to you, get up!" ).

42 Immediately the girl stood up and walked around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. 43He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat.

A woman from the crowd, feels if she can just reach out to Him:

7When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28because she thought, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed."

32But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering."

Jesus' disciples see Him every day:
They cried out, 50 because they all saw him and were terrified.

Immediately he spoke to them and said, "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." 51Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed

They had nothing to eat, he called his disciples to him and said to them,

"I have compassion on the crowd, because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat. 3And if I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way. And some of them have come from far away."

And they took up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full. 9 And there were about four thousand people.

Jesus ask His disciples, who do you say I am?

29 Peter answered him, "You are the Christ."

Abba, Our Father,

We long for You to Speak, "Peace." "Calm."

Dwell in us, help us to be a welcome and joyous people to You.
Dwell in those we Love.
Heal us in Your Love.
Help us to seek You first.
And to finish well.

Strengthen us to do the good works You have for us to walk in. In this time of great worry and emotion, hasty words may be spoken. Inadvisable decisions can be made and, then. with Your Help and Holy Spirit, strengthened into becoming Peace and Love. Jesus frequently told His People to hush. We will Stand Firm and be Strong. Knowing in this season, stand not be tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine.

Let Love be genuine with Mercy.

Jesus had been carefully placed in History, in Situation and with Mary and Joseph. The parents knew the feeling of being lost and shuffled as part of a great crowd. Jesus had been missing and now was realized He was needed. Jesus was found to be working. The Son of God was merciful to His Family. Jesus was Merciful to the crowd looking on during this time of Jesus thought to be Lost. His Parents were given time to regroup and they headed home to quiet lives.

John 5:17
Jesus answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I am working.”

John 6:29
Jesus told them, “This is the work God wants from you: Believe in the One He has sent.”

We long for Your Love and help, Father God, to have Your Kingdom, Power and Glory upon Your Throne. The Fringe of Your Robe placed upon all of Your Good Creation. Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of Hosts. We pray more of Your Good Will filling the whole earth with Your Glory.

We will remember our answered Prayers. And live this Day. Looking in expectation You will strengthen us to Seek You first and find Your Kingdom being glimpsed enfolding us in Your Good Creation.

You are our hope now, always and in the coming weeks.

Covering us with the Name and Power of Jesus,
God with the people of Afghanistan in such upheaval.

GOD of All, Covering the worldwide Doctors, Nurses, Hospital Staffs and their prayers. The young people bewildered by the world's upheaval.  People with troubles.

Brave people. Holding up Life for one another.

Bless this Nation.
Help Your Good Creation with Healing and Hope.
Love flowing from the Light of Jesus Christ.

We pray for Louisiana to recover from Hurricane Ida

My Cousin Maxine's roof was tarred on and still lasting half a century later.

Please, Father, Be Gracious and Merciful
to Louisiana for their amazing
Cajun Navy and their Great Heart.

Matthew 5:9
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Giving Great Thanks,
the bird die off has stopped and

We pray, Father, You will

Psalm 150 ~ Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! †

Psalm 150
is a Miraculous Celebration.

To me, the Assurance in the Promises of Abba, Father, God The Almighty

Psalm 150
A Parallel to Revelation
The Beginning of the Great Feast in Heaven.

The Welcome to the Table of God.
You have a Place in the Heart of God
and in His Kingdom
and His Table.

No matter what you think of Heaven, today, and the
Seven Levels of Heaven Paul, in the Holy Spirit, wrote you.

In 1543, Paolo Veronese wanted the people of Venice to know,
no matter how busy they were, Jesus was with them, doing what God does
and Jesus is easily accessible.

In fact, so easy to find Jesus, you simply wander into San Giovanni, St. John's, Church in
Venice and you will find all people having Jesus in their Lives.
Not always noticeable.  Instead, the Light of Christ in mankind
as mankind lives and moves and has their being with God Himself.

Jesus is invited to Matthew, Levi's Party in the Church.
All are Welcome.

The Title of Paola Veronese's painting is confused, maybe, maybe not at all.
Levy's Party for Jesus.
And, yet, the Last Supper.
And really, probably more like Heaven.

Maybe the Title of Heavenly Paola Veronese's Celebration Painting should have been:

Micah 4:3

He shall judge between many peoples,
and
shall decide for strong nations far away;
and
they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
and
their spears into pruning hooks;

Nation shall not lift up sword against Nation,
neither shall they learn war anymore.

Psalm 104:24-25

Oh Lord,
how manifold are thy works!
In wisdom hast Thou made them all:
the earth is full of Thy riches.
So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable,
both small and great beasts!

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all
1848 Hymn William Monk

The Feast in the House of Levi, Paolo Veronese

All are Invited!

Psalm 150

Praise the Lord!
Praise God in His sanctuary;
praise Him in His mighty Heavens!

 Praise Him for His mighty deeds;
praise Him according to His excellent greatness!

 Praise Him with trumpet sound;
praise Him with lute and harp!
Praise Him with tambourine and dance

Praise Him with strings and pipe!

Praise Him with sounding cymbals;
praise him with loud clashing cymbals!

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!

Psalm 150 is the Miraculous Discovery of God's Living Word is Entirely, Wholly True and the Joy of this Revelation.  Today. And Tomorrow.  The comfort in Billy Graham's words: Billy Graham — 'I've read the last page of the Bible, it's all going to turn out all right.'

Hebrews 1:3
The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His being,
sustaining all things by His powerful word.

After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in Heaven.

Colossians 3:16
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit,
singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

John 10:35
If He called them 'gods,' to whom the word of God came – and Scripture cannot be broken –

Acts 20:32
Now I commit you to God
and
to the Word of His Grace,
which can build you up
and
give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

Luke 1:37
For no word from God will ever fail.

Abba, Father,

For
No
Word
From
God
will
ever
fail!

In the Name of the Father,
In the Highest Name of His Son, Jesus Christ
and the Holy Spirit,
Amen!

Mark 10:32
They were now on the way up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them. The disciples were filled with awe

The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life.
