Luke 12:35-48 ~ Blessed

Luke 12:35-48

35 “Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning, 36 and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks.

37 Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at table, and he will come and serve them. 38 If he comes in the second watch, or in the third, and finds them awake, blessed are those servants! 39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have left his house to be broken into. 40 You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

41 Peter said, “Lord, are you telling this parable for us or for all?” 42 And the Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom his master will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time?

43 Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. 44 Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. 45 But if that servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed in coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and get drunk, 46 the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces and put him with the unfaithful.

47 And that servant who knew his master's will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating. 48 But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating.

Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.

The miracles we have forgotten: Moses wrote Psalm 90 and lived to be 120 years old. Joshua 110 years old. Psalm 90 tells us Before Christ's Ministry, the life span could hardly hope for 70 years of age, verse 10.  Even Moses tells us in these last Psalm 90 verses, all people hope for the sheer joy of happiness.

Psalm 90
Lord, you have been our dwelling place
in all generations.

2 Before the mountains were brought forth,
or ever you had formed the earth and the world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

3 You return man to dust
and say, “Return, O children of man!”
4 For a thousand years in your sight
are but as yesterday when it is past,
or as a watch in the night.

5 You sweep them away as with a flood; they are like a dream,
like grass that is renewed in the morning:
6 in the morning it flourishes and is renewed;
in the evening it fades and withers.

7 For we are brought to an end by your anger;
by your wrath we are dismayed.
8 You have set our iniquities before you,
our secret sins in the light of your presence.

9 For all our days pass away under your wrath;
we bring our years to an end like a sigh.
10 The years of our life are seventy,
or even by reason of strength eighty;
yet their span is but toil and trouble;
they are soon gone, and we fly away.
11 Who considers the power of your anger,
and your wrath according to the fear of you?

12 So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom.
13 Return, O Lord! How long?
Have pity on your servants!
14 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love,
that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
15 Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
and for as many years as we have seen evil.
16 Let your work be shown to your servants,
and your glorious power to their children.
17 Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us,
and establish the work of our hands upon us;
yes,
establish the work of our hands!

John 11
38 Then Jesus, deeply moved again, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it. 39 Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, “Lord, by this time there will be an odor, for he has been dead four days.” 40 Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?” 41 So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me.” 43 When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out.”

44 The man who had died came out,
his hands
and feet bound with linen strips,
and his face wrapped with a cloth.

Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”

It's hard to find the balance.

We say too much.

We are pushed aside.

We are thrust out of the inner group.

We are suckered in.

We are used.

We ask respect.

Why not stay home.

We are in circumstance wildly beyond expectation.

We are in endurance.

Told to be bold. Told to hush.

Why not quit when no one is pleased?
Because.
Usually Someone is pleased. When you want to please God.
The goal is not applause. God is pleased more completely.
Pleasing God is putting the steam in your soul to go forth.

Usually when someone will speak up to put you down - you did something.
Something worthwhile. Even Winston Churchill said so.

Scripture can be difficult. Life can be difficult.

Narrow path. When you please the ones who love you. God and then the people who invest time in you. It's the wide highway that applauds.

Who would tell you when they got cussed out twice today? Who would you tell that you cussed pretty badly later in the day. Who do you tell when your chair was almost kicked out from underneath you. Who would say something when you are called fat and slapped on the rear in public.

People leave when someone is asked an imbalanced question. Because of illness. Or they pretend not to know. I know someone who avoided a leukemia patient for a year. And when confronted said they didn't know. Why. She would probably die and the explanation wasn't needed.

Some people will take the sunglasses your son gave you because they wanted a piece of something special.

There really are people like -  that - even when there is mortal illness in your family. We know what competing in adult sports and games is really like to a young adult. Few people comment on the outrageous aspects of their lives. And they don't know that you know. Or that you cared. And when they do find out you cared, sometimes they cry.

Some days are difficult. Really difficult.

When your word is doubted and really basically - you speak the truth at all times.

BLESSED

Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning, and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home.

We are Loved
Cherished
Believed
Strong

Children of God.

That is what is important.

Each of us is unique, important and special to God.

And in life, the just and the unjust get rained on and sunny days. We get to decide we are living a life worthwhile.  We can focus on the stain on our shirt or on the immeasurable grace Jesus gives us daily. God will listen. Love. And Care. Always.

Pray for my family, please. Newly apart. Yet Hopeful.

And want more of Jesus
and His Love
and our new understanding of His Holiness.

God of Love.
God of Encouragement.
Jesus Christ.

Psalm 139

17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 If I would count them, they are more than the sand.
I awake, and I am still with you.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!

Abba, Father

Your wrath is covered when we believe in Jesus.
Psalm 139 is the perfect reminder in all of Psalm 139.
Jesus helps us daily to find the path of Love and Encouragement.

Abba,
You have Blessed this Nation and believing Nations
with an Open Always Prayer Life
being who we are and believing You make us better and more loving.

We can look at Psalm 139
and remember the generations of people and families
doing all they can for their children in complex life
needing Jesus as Savior.

Your Word
gives us Hope
Love
Faith
Encouragement

We can ask for Your Holy Spirit to know
all of us
every cell
every molecule
Just as water is a wonder
You have created us as Wonders of Your Creation

and as Your Holy Spirit
knows every thought, every molecule
every cell
the hairs on our head
we have been filled with the
Light of Jesus Christ
and only the better
for Jesus to be the Light within us.

Our Prayer this year,
The Light of Heaven,
The Light of the world, God's Good Creation
Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
The Light of Nations
The Light of Mankind
will be
the Light filling this complex time
with more
of Your Love, Encouragement
Guidance, Mercy
Grace upon Grace.

We ask simply God
for Your Love
and Your Mercy
Your forbearance with this time.

Knowing Spring follows Christmas
Summer brings warmth
Autumn tells the Glory of God
and Christmas renews us in Hope
New Years is Jesus giving us pause to
remember
Jesus Christ makes ALL things New.

As we are asked to remind God
to bless us with more Heaven on earth,
His Good Will be done.

Dwell in me,
Dwell in those I love,
Help us to Seek You first,
and we will finish well in Jesus Christ!

To You, our Father, be the Glory
Our God is an Awesome God! Amen
and Alleluia
in Jesus Christ and His Glory!

Jude ~ beloved Building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God

Jude

you must remember,
beloved,
the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.

18 They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers,
following their own ungodly passions.”
It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit.

20 But you,
beloved
Building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit,  keep yourselves in the love of God,
waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.
And have mercy on those who doubt;
save others by snatching them out of the fire;
to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.

24 Now to Him
Who is able to keep you from stumbling
and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy
To the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord,
be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority,
before all time and now and forever. Amen

We wonder about Jesus and Jude and their time as a family.  Jude, named in the Gospels among the relatives of Jesus (Mt 13:55; Mk 6:3). The Catholic Bishops point out the real possibility of composition around the year A.D. 80, the historical Jude may still have been alive.

Something new in the wind Memorial Day Weekend 2022. Don't say, 'Happy Memorial Day' weekend. The Loss is Profound. Losses we know from the World Wars, like my Great Uncle Artelles. Who survived and suffered. Korea, Vietnam, Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan. Seeing Afghanistan suffer.  The horror of Ukraine, peacefully living next to the neighbor, Putin. The Texas Border Agent willing to bypass others to fight the Good Fight. Important Acts of Courage.

Memorial Day isn't just the wars, it is the victory we have in our families doing the hard work.
It is the Uncle, the Policeman. The nephew, the fireman. The grandmothers who did so much. The Grandfathers who always taught with love and care. Memorial Weekend has a rich history of being the fabric of our lives, giving us heart. Fighting the Good Fight.

More than war. The people who taught us overcoming. The family who pulled for us every day. The Way forward in Jesus Christ.  The Values of Love. Overflowing.

Culturally, we believe elbows out make our will the-end-all-and-be-all of the powerful.
Jesus has taught His brothers, when facing incredible evil, win with being polite. And saying the Lord will be the Judge.

In faith, we believe God will always win and His Will continues to be accomplished.

An astonishing fact, to say God will Judge, and allow for courtesy. A winning argument.

The formula for surviving evil is:

Allow God to Judge.
Courtesy.
Keep in God's Love by Praying.
Believe in God's Love.
Waiting for God's Mercy.
Believing in Eternal Life.
Have mercy on the doubters.
Snatch others out of the fire, which would say being deliberately involved.
Give mercy even when you hate to give mercy upon the evil doers.

The Joy of the Lord is our Strength.
God's Joy to keep us blame free. Blameless.
We believe God is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory over All.
God is the only God and only Savior.
Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. Jesus Christ Highest Name. God of God. True Light of True Light.

Abba, Father God,

Joshua 21:45
Not one word of all the good promises
that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed;
All came to pass.

We can't always approach You well.
You have given us Your Word to come with boldness.
You told us Your Mercies renew, and we will find this.

We will remember God has revealed to us through the Spirit.
For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.
Your Holy Spirit will pray for us. We can lean into You.

In the Highest Name of Jesus, we ask Your Righteousness.
And our souls will be a wonderful home for You.

Surround us, fill us, fill those we Love with Jesus Christ. Redeem us and
Renew us with Your Willingness, and we will be Blessed and Blessed.
Help us to Seek Your Kingdom and Righteousness first.
To Live lives of Love, Peace and Joy.

Give us this day to find our Joy is our Strength in You.

Father, You are Working.

You Fight the Good Fight, we find our Comfort, Help and Strength.
To live in affection and Love brings us faith, hope and Love.

You are The Good Father asking us to Love ourselves.
To have a Spirit of Power.
To Love others.
For my mother, struggling.

Comforted and Strengthened, we will find Solutions
And Greater Joys.

Abundant Love flowing down. Soaking us All!
His Living Water flows.

Opening our doors with expectation of Your Continued Goodness
in ourselves, in the ones we Love,
Jesus Christ in the people You bring us.

We pray for the safety of
our Schools to be a safe, good,
warm place for the Children
We uphold them with our Love and Prayers.

We ask Your Mighty Word
to for all the United States and the world
Finding Your Blessing and Word of Love.

Jesus help us in this Nation to be in Your Word and see more Joy.

The end of trouble surrounding this Virus.
Help this Storms to end quickly, safely
Help Hurricane Overcomers.
And  Fire Overcomers.

 You for Hear Our Prayers!

Bless the Nation trusting in You.
Bring all the Nations to Your Brightness, to the Glory of Jesus.

We love to see Your Glory daily. Love Earnestly. Amen.

In Jesus Christ. Amen.

2 Corinthians 3:17 ~ There is Freedom

2 Corinthians 3:17

Now the Lord is the Spirit,
and where the Spirit of the Lord is,
there is freedom.

Romans 13:8-10

Owe no one anything, except to love each other,
for the one who loves another
has fulfilled the law.

9 For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Abraham believed the Lord and it is credited to him as righteousness. Abraham believed he could discuss and even argue with the Lord. Abraham believed God acts for the Good. And believed if death was involved, then Mercy should be present.

Abraham believes in the Goodness of God. He never followed the Lord because of tyranny. Abraham believed the narrow road of God's Goodness, would be the path of all freedom.

The people who believe in freedom, are heroes. Push aside terrorism.

Trusting in the Lord, expands our path, in love, and freedom.

Matthew 25:14-30

Believing God

14 “For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants [bondservantsand entrusted to them his property. 15 To one he gave five talents, [talent was a monetary unit worth about twenty years' wages for a laborer] to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away.

16 He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. 17 So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. 18 But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master's money.

19 Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. 20 And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here I have made five talents more.’ 21 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. [bondservant] You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’

22 And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here I have made two talents more.’ 23 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’

24 He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, 25 so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.’ 26 But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? 27 Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. 28 So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents.

29 For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

If we condense this passage the way Jesus condensed God's Word:

Matthew 22:37-40
37
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.

How does God love us in this passage:
~ God trusts us with what belongs to Him
~ God wants to be generous
~ God will invite us into His Kingdom to live His joy
~ God, who is on High, has regard for us - dust in the wind, a fading flower.
~ God expects what we would do for a friend, an employer - we would be willing to do for Him.
~ God determines not all are fit for His Kingdom.

When people, our life spans are so brief, judge God - the Eternal Almighty - with their lives and years of judgement words, they have rendered judgement upon themselves. It really isn't good to be one of the people campaigning against God to others.

1 Chronicles 16:27
Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in His dwelling place.

The Purpose of our Freedom isn't the fight, the Victory is in Peace. Believing the purpose of the fight is Peace. Hope. Faith

Matthew 25:14-30

14 “For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants [bondservantsand entrusted to them his property. 15 To one he gave five talents, [talent was a monetary unit worth about twenty years' wages for a laborer] to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability.

If we condense this passage the way Jesus condensed God's Word: Trust in the Lord.

Abraham's freedom, the Servant of 5 talents and 10 talents
believed God is good
Searching for the Lord has good reward.

To Trust in the Lord is to be Encouraged
and not fearful.

Matthew 16:18
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of death will not overcome it. NIV Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Hebrews 6:18
That by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement
to hold fast to the hope set before us.

About Me

My photo
Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
