Psalm 147
Praise the Lord!
For it is good to sing praises to our God;
for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting.
2 The Lord builds up Jerusalem;
he gathers the outcasts of Israel.
3 He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.
4 He determines the number of the stars;
he gives to all of them their names.
5 Great is our Lord, and abundant in power;
his understanding is beyond measure.
6 The Lord lifts up the humble;
he casts the wicked to the ground.
7 Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving;
make melody to our God on the lyre!
8 He covers the heavens with clouds;
he prepares rain for the earth;
he makes grass grow on the hills.
9 He gives to the beasts their food,
and to the young ravens that cry.
His delight
is not in the strength of the horse,
nor his pleasure in the legs of a man,
11 but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him,
in those who hope
in His steadfast love.
How will we worship when we are bone deep annoyed?
We speak with Jesus, with our Father, in the Holy Spirit. How do we expect to be a place He would dwell in when each direction we look in has some strife? How will the Lord delight in us when we travel and can't find the cap to the bottle, the toothpaste, the laundry detergent.
When traffic suddenly is unreasonable. When everyone is out of their office when you call.
When the News is always annoying. And family has moved to Denver. And now you can't find the garden tool you worked with for the last thirty minutes?
For two days, I bit back being annoyed by almost everything but breathing. I discovered how much I wanted to not be annoyed. How joyful life is when Joy is found. And as soon as the dark mood left, then I'd think of something that annoyed me. Much to be grateful for and, easier to be the bone deep rotten comment, which comes first and isn’t always spoken out loud.
Being alone seemed a much better solution than being annoyed. We traveled this weekend, last weekend to Disc Golf in Austin and this weekend to opening up my mother's house to the MLS Sales List in Dallas. Maybe it was having too much to do. But something crawled up my craw.
As we came home in the car, I found that I had to tell Jesus, tell My Father, what is annoying me and I made a list like shooting at apples circling me. I told My Father, I hate being annoyed, but I'm really, really, really, really annoyed and tired of being annoyed. And You Love us to see Life is Joy. But here is the shot apples list. I told Abba, I wouldn't want to dwell in me. I need Your Love to help my heart stay open and not a Crab apple. I finally told Jesus, I need help to be warm-hearted and open-hearted and a Delight to You. I really need help. And almost immediately, instead of suffering to serve the Lord with the ungrateful or the ungracious or the unhelpful, the Lord presented me with the abilities and opportunity to gratefully be kind to those I want to be kind with. I had opportunities to give Mercy, to find Goodness, to treasure memories and to give sincere compliments. And received a full bucket of Love Given.
And I was vastly relieved to be back in a cheerful path again. Taking me a full three or more hours to see, it wasn't my abundant joy and cheerfulness giving me back a right soul, Abba had given me some Love to bounce back. And I had to realize, I'd been gifted, not grown and grafted. Gifted. No work on my part, just Blessed.
1 John 5:14-15
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
Part of what I had to say to Abba, was to complain about prayers answered and prayers given. Not the kind of prayer we think God would want.
Grateful for the Power of God's Truth. Mary and Martha and the sour attitude. 72 Disciples who complained and walked off. These Gospel events, told to us, without holding back. Not whitewash. Simon, the Pharisee Host, who wasn't gracious even to the Son of God. Jairus, who wanted a favor. Jesus tells us what happens in life. John Mark and Mark who wrote, The Gospel, after being criticized.
Grateful God tells us what to do when Nicodemus is the one who will speak for Jesus, but only if he can come in dark of night.
God of Hope, God of Love, God of Encouragement.
Jesus was known to save His Beloved from water, as well.
God tells us this ~
The Word of God is alive and accurate. Warm and caring. Filled with rescue. We can Trust God. Rely upon Him. We see great and unsearchable things in our hands. A great surrounding by such a great witness - The unclouding of Witness. A help, a comforter of God to let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And lets us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. We will believe and God will help our unbelief.
1 Corinthians 13:13
So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
1 John 4:19
We love because he first loved us.
Abba, Abba, Abba!
We ask Your Blessing.
We want to overtake our fears. Our doubts. To Defeat harm - disaster. To defeat our unbelief. We believe, Jesus, help us to believe more!!!
With Jesus - His Name - we will overtake the war of doubt.
