Deuteronomy 11:22
If you carefully observe
all these commands I am giving you to follow
– to love the LORD your God,
to walk in obedience to him
and to hold fast to Him
This is the Mount Ebal and Mount Gerizim talk. Blessings and curses. We all fall short of the Glory of God.
So, did this actually prosper the Children of Israel? Yes, of course, we see Israel exists today, again 2,000 years later. Israel is a jewel in the middle of the dusty Middle East. More patents per person than any nation on earth. More books per person. And more computers per person. A desert land is finally the land of milk and honey. Need an organic solution to farming pests or vermin? Israel has more answers than any nation. They could solve the Colorado beetle in fir trees.
David lived to see his grandchildren. No one said David lived to be 120 like Moses. Or 110 years old like Joshua. But in other Bronze Age nations, old age was 19 or 20 years.
Hebrews 11:6
Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him,
for he who comes to God must believe that he exists,
and that he is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
Like the weather, 2022 is always changing.
We had a beautiful morning. With optimism. A squall to drive to Dallas. Prayer request Texts! People had on Hazard Lights. Two accidents with no fatalities. Several Appointments to keep. One to just sit in with lots and lots of people. The people who have helped us so much in Dallas, couldn't meet, they had someone they care for pass on and were cooking dinner for the whole family. Then Beautiful Sunshine Afternoon. And purple on the radar on the way home.
Life is like needlepoint these days. Life pushes you down, you take hold of faith momentum to swing back up to Peace. The Dow fell. My sons lost jobs and have insecurity and opportunity. In a time when houses are not being listed to sell, my family is moving. We have dealt with 7 sets of moves in the immediate family, in a year. 20,000 miles on one car. Age, illness, death, education graduation, rent, job loss due to demand for their industry and desire.
A perfect day for the National Day of Prayer.
Psalm 103:2-5
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
3 who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
5 who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
Our 4th year Robin has returned,
she flies low and in your face
and doesn't mind you seeing her sitting on her nest at eye level.
I thought she was gone last summer, today she returned! Watching me fill the bird feeder.
Joyful!
Ephesians 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in Christ
with every spiritual blessing
in the heavenly places
Proverbs 16:20
Whoever gives thought to the Word
will discover good,
and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.
Matthew 18:20
For where two or three are gathered together in my name,
there am I in the midst of them
Always ask.
Psalm 107
doing business on the great waters;
24 they saw the deeds of the Lord,
his wondrous works in the deep.
25 For he commanded and raised the stormy wind,
which lifted up the waves of the sea.
26 They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths;
their courage melted away in their evil plight;
27 they reeled and staggered
Matthew 6:27
And which of you by being anxious
can add a single hour to his span of life?
Proverbs 12:25
Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.
Psalm 90:12
So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom
James 1
6 But he must ask in faith, without doubting,
because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
To avoid being driven by circumstance. To remain in the joy of the morning and not the minutes ticking away to miss the appointment. Not being driven by the news. To find the Joy in meaningful life. And allowing God's grace to Reign, when we have let this slip.
Even when the return trip passes from sunshine to rain and lightning. And more dots of purple on the Radar. Not at all fun. Yet good to land well. To come through with prayer texting and to see the Lord help us in all situations.
Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed,
for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Abba, Father,
The National Day of Prayer.
The Weather, we finally had rain.
And then Tornado warnings.
A beautiful day with optimism and help from my son.
The news is like a Hurricane.
It seems not to relent.
Yet as we look around, we see changes,
Life continuing. Health. Change.
Some concerns every day. Change.
We are all keeping our balance
and Praying quite diligently.
We know the battles are in Your Hands.
We trust You, Abba.
Father, in the Highest Name of Jesus, we place our hearts desires.
We place ourselves in Your Tender Mercy.
We ask Your Protection in these days.
Feeling You Live in our Heart, Mind and Soul.
Live in those we Love.
Draw them to Your Love.
Fill our lives with Your Hope, Your Love.
Help us to Seek You first.
We will finish well in Jesus Christ.
Care for the elderly,
Bless them with good days.
Care for the young and unknowing.
Finding our Joy each day.
Bless those with illness to have Hope.
Give us the opportunity each day to
Bless You.
With even our Gratitude.
Strengthen our families.
Thank You for Praying Friends
and Reminders they send.
We bless the Help they Bring.
Bless those surrounding us
doing their best.
The Knowledge of so many praying.
Bless our Nation.
Care for those in Ukraine, brought to horror
while dwelling peacefully.
Dictators teach us to value Freedom
and not be conscripted in war.
Bless those seeking righteousness
and the path pleasing to God.
Help us to Shine the Path boldly
in understanding the goodness
of Loving You, Father.
Bless those told to begin
without help
or care. Immigrants.
Help us to treat
one another more
graciously.
And remember so many are praying.
Americans have seen many
riots, wars, downturns,
and have seen recovery
let us all be
in Hope
Doing the Work God gave us all
To believe in the One He sent,
Jesus Christ.
Amen in Jesus. Amen.
