Psalm 36 ~ Your steadfast love, O Lord

Psalm 36

To the choirmaster. Of David, the servant of the Lord.

Transgression speaks to the wicked
    deep in his heart;
there is no fear of God
    before his eyes.
2 For he flatters himself in his own eyes
    that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.
3 The words of his mouth are trouble and deceit;
    he has ceased to act wisely and do good.
4 He plots trouble while on his bed;
    he sets himself in a way that is not good;
    he does not reject evil.

5 Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens,
    your faithfulness to the clouds.
6 Your righteousness is like the mountains of God;
    your judgments are like the great deep;
    man and beast you save, O Lord.

7 How precious is your steadfast love, O God!
    The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
8 They feast on the abundance of your house,
    and you give them drink from the river of your delights.
9 For with you is the fountain of life;
    in your light do we see light.

10 Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you,
    and your righteousness to the upright of heart!
11 Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me,
    nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.
12 There the evildoers lie fallen;
    they are thrust down, unable to rise.

Psalm 9

To the choirmaster: according to Muth-labben
A Psalm of David.

I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
    I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.
2 I will be glad and exult in you;
    I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.

3 When my enemies turn back,
    they stumble and perish before your presence.
4 For you have maintained my just cause;
    you have sat on the throne, giving righteous judgment.

5 You have rebuked the nations; you have made the wicked perish;
    you have blotted out their name forever and ever.
6 The enemy came to an end in everlasting ruins;
    their cities you rooted out;
    the very memory of them has perished.

7 But the Lord sits enthroned forever;
    he has established his throne for justice,
8 and he judges the world with righteousness;
    he judges the peoples with uprightness.

9 The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed,
    a stronghold in times of trouble.
10 And those who know your name put their trust in you,
    for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.

11 Sing praises to the Lord, who sits enthroned in Zion!
    Tell among the peoples his deeds!
12 For he who avenges blood is mindful of them;
    he does not forget the cry of the afflicted.

13 Be gracious to me, O Lord!
    See my affliction from those who hate me,
    O you who lift me up from the gates of death,
14 that I may recount all your praises,
    that in the gates of the daughter of Zion
    I may rejoice in your salvation.

15 The nations have sunk in the pit that they made;
    in the net that they hid, their own foot has been caught.
16 The Lord has made himself known; he has executed judgment;
    the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands. Higgaion. Selah

17 The wicked shall return to Sheol,
    all the nations that forget God.

18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten,
    and the hope of the poor shall not perish forever.

19 Arise, O Lord! Let not man prevail;
    let the nations be judged before you!
20 Put them in fear, O Lord!
    Let the nations know that they are but men! Selah

My oldest son is 33, my younger son is 31.  And 29 years ago today, my father, my Daddy died.  I remember the day as well as having lunch today. My brother and I sat together having his car repaired, we were in realism and denial. Couldn't have happened so soon. I was not really in my 30s.

In 1993, one didn't admit one's parent had committed suicide. In fact, my father knew this and left a note saying he had cancer.  It wasn't the best idea, we knew his doctors.  And ran into them from time to time. But this was his way of making the best of things. The cause of death was alcoholism.  At the time of Daddy's death, suicide was the 13th leading cause of death in the USA. And all the people we knew who had suicide in the family usually said in lieu of flowers, please give generously to ... The Humane Society. Or a Home Nursing Group.  Or a Church, museum or a zoo.

Today, 1 in 3 adults have a form of alcoholism. And now suicide in 9th nationally, since the Pandemic. Nationally, we had 2 friends each, before the Pandemic. Alcoholics are 30% more likely to commit some form of suicide.

Today, the Liturgical reading is Psalm 9.  I read this and felt this was far too glum for today.
I've had very vivid dreams of my Daddy's home in Heaven. Profound conversation with my father and Grandmother. Psalm 9, one thing really did catch my eye in this unusual time and history.

Psalm 9

To the choirmaster: according to Muth-labben
A Psalm of David.

Euthanasia. Jack Kevorkian, the pioneer. When he found out his wife has breast cancer, she wasn't really old. He told her the odds and said instead of the chemotherapy, the fuss and the expense, he would kindly hook her up. She refused and they divorced. She lived. Euthanasia tends to get weird.  Kevorkian did not die from suicide, but cancer and pneumonia.

The problem with suicide, no one really wants to remember you very well. My children didn't know my father well, he was in his alcoholism and last party phase. And instead, they know I deeply love my father and my sons consider Daddy never given a grandfather name or nickname, to be a personal failure who quit instead of fighting the good fight. Nothing really convinces them otherwise. And eventually, you have to concede this is true. Sobriety has a point, you can solve the most difficult things with sobriety, prayer and Jesus and determination to fight the good fight.

We can always flip the Bible open and read Psalms or the Gospels until something in God's own Word makes us understand, God Almighty, Abba Loves you. Understands you. If you let Him, He will help daily.  Keep your eyes of your heart and soul open.

Psalm 9

To the choirmaster: according to Muth-labben
A Psalm of David.

Eventually, we will have grandchildren and they will be more detached and hear more of the stories of my father. The Lord promised us a remnant. But there is something lost. Lost. The songs of joy will have a Muth-labben.  Never will my father's song be sung as well as if he had struggled on to tell his story. We will never completely know what the joy of a Muth-labben is. The joy is lost until Heaven in the songs we sing.

Call it Euthanasia or Suicide, I'm a survivor of my father's choice to die. And I would tell you of the clinical depression I've seen in my grandmother. My profound sorrow for a self-murder. And the years my sons don't remember how angry and upset I was.  My father-in-law realized we were out of our depths, being so young and he helped. He was wise. My mother-in-law helped. My mother's office helped. My friends were in their 20s and the situation left them a little helpless and undone.

My family and I attended Survivors of Suicide. I'm not fond of the therapy group name, but this was extremely, powerfully helpful group therapy to understand the unique nature and terrible challenges to not give into despair.

This death isn't a choice I'd recommend to anyone, if you truly wish not to bring harm upon those who love you.

Psalm 36

5 Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens,
    your faithfulness to the clouds.
6 Your righteousness is like the mountains of God;
    your judgments are like the great deep;
    man and beast you save, O Lord.

7 How precious is your steadfast love, O God!
    The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
8 They feast on the abundance of your house,
    and you give them drink from the river of your delights.
9 For with you is the fountain of life;
    in your light do we see light.

10 Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you,
    and your righteousness to the upright of heart!
11 Let not the foot of arrogance come upon me,
    nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.

It's up to us that in our light, we leave the Light for others to see. Surely goodness and mercy will follow... me. Let His Light Shine.

Psalm 23:6

 Surely goodness and mercy
shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and
 I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Having a meaningful life is about loving the people God has given you. Having a meaningful life is enjoying the Blessings we have to work upon.  Having a meaningful life is to know God's Promises and Blessings.

When we look at Genesis,
the brief story of God's Good Creation,
we learn God looked around Him
and found Good.

Jesus found Joy.

The streets of Heaven on earth
are paved with Blessings.

Abba, Father

We give You Thanks for Renewing our Blessings Daily.
Help us to Live and move and truly know the truth of our Blessings.
To build upon what You have Willingly Given.
To understand and to Please You as we live in these Blessings.

Jesus told His Disciples not to speak. The Kingdom of Heaven is said:

Matthew 13:45-44
44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field,
which a man found and covered up.
Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has
and
buys that field.

45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is
like a merchant in search of fine pearls,
who, on finding one pearl of great value,
went and sold all that he had and bought it.

When we pray for a way to explain our Faith.
We Pray for the Wisdom of God.
And the timing of God. You have placed Your Spirit within us
who Believe and we sometimes know the time is not quite right.
Like the ancient symbol of Ichthus.
Like the woman who reached for the fringe of Jesus' robe.

Luke 6
17 And he came down with them and stood on a level place,
with a great crowd of his disciples and a great multitude of people
from all Judea and Jerusalem and the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon,
18 who came to hear Him and to be healed of their diseases.
And those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured. 1
9 And all the crowd sought to touch him,
for power came out from him
 and
 healed them all.

The Holy Spirit of God is Abundant. Inclusive.
 Thank You Jesus.
You seek to save the world in Jesus Christ.
We can pray and we will have the opportunity.
Jesus and His Holy Spirit will do this.

We love to have conversational prayer with You, Father, all the day in Jesus.
We will be empowered to pray for others
and to have His opportunities.

Thank You Father, You are the Way, the Truth and the Life.
When we clearly perceive in life we are told to be quiet,
You have given us wisdom.
You give us the way forward to Pray in Jesus
and
He will provide.

We pray to have the Joy in the Lord for finding the Kingdom of Heaven first.
To live lives of Love, Peace and Joy.

Knowing You cover those we Love in Jesus.
Bringing their hearts to You.
Covering the people You have given us.
Giving our Nation hope as we Trust in You.
Covering the USA, Pakistan and Ukraine,
 all the Nations praying
for Your Steadfast Love and Mercy.

Thanking You, Father God.
Your Plans are our Hope and Future.
We ask for all the Willing Blessings You would give
and rely on Your Steadfast Love and Mercy.

The Righteousness of Jesus Christ - Your Gift to us.

Nehemiah 8:10 ~ for this day

Nehemiah 8:10

Then he said unto them,
Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet,
and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared:
 for this day is
Holy unto our Lord:
neither be ye sorry;
for the joy of the Lord
is your strength.

Abba, Father,

We live in amazing time Historically
Biblically
and in the 500 year mark for
pretty wild Histories.

Fortunate and Blessed to have
Vaccinations. Yesterday, I was blessed to have the
Shingles Vaccination. Not enjoying headache, fever and swollen
lymph node. Please, Father, the Joy again of Good Health
for All.

Abba, Father,

We do not know all You know.
We do not have the omnipotence for a complete prayer.

We can't surround every person
or every issue
to bring the healing we know Jesus does.

You are the Light of Heaven.
Jesus, You are the Light of Nations.
Jesus Christ,
Only Son of the Most High God,
You are the Light of mankind.

We have a heart for the difficulties
facing
our own lives,
the lives of those we love,
This Nation,
and Ukraine
and the plight of the hungry
and this Good Creation of Yours.
For the help and comfort of
Flooded Pakistan.

And in the hearts of mankind
You have delighted in,
we ask Jesus Christ
to be our Blessing,
Teacher,
Healer,
Lord of us all.

God of Love.
God of Encouragement.

We Thank You
for the Blessings
You give us daily.

And ask for You
to dwell in us
and provide
Grace and Mercy
for our trespasses.

To heal us,
the Heal our Loved Ones,
to Heal the Nation,
To Bless Ukraine and Russians
with Peace.
Love.
Joy.
Jesus.

Help us to seek You first
And in Jesus Christ, we will finish well.

Amen in Your Son,
the Highest Name of Jesus,
Amen.

God reminds us
Blessing us with prayers for more Heaven on earth,
His Good Will be done.

To You, our Father, be the Glory
Our God is an Awesome God! Amen

Psalm 25 ~ Good and upright is the Lord †

Psalm 25

Teach Me Your Paths
Of David.

To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
2 O my God, in you I trust;
    let me not be put to shame;
    let not my enemies exult over me.
3 Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame;
    they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.

4 Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
    teach me your paths.
5 Lead me in your truth and teach me,
    for you are the God of my salvation;
    for You I wait all the day long.

6 Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love,
    for they have been from of old.

7 Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
    according to your steadfast love remember me,
    for the sake of
your goodness, O Lord!

8 Good and upright is the Lord;
    therefore He instructs sinners in the way.
9 He leads the humble in what is right,
    and teaches the humble his way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness,
    for those who keep His covenant and his testimonies.

11 For your name's sake, O Lord,
    pardon my guilt, for it is great.
12 Who is the man who fears the Lord?
    Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose.
13 His soul shall abide in well-being,
    and his offspring shall inherit the land.
14 The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him,
    and He makes known to them his covenant.
15 My eyes are ever toward the Lord,
    for he will pluck my feet out of the net.

16 Turn to me and be gracious to me,
    for I am lonely and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged;
    bring me out of my distresses.
18 Consider my affliction and my trouble,
    and forgive all my sins.

19 Consider how many are my foes,
    and with what violent hatred they hate me.
20 Oh, guard my soul, and deliver me!
    Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.
21 May integrity and uprightness preserve me,
    for I wait for you.

22 Redeem Israel, O God,
    out of all his troubles.

When we think of David, we don't necessarily think of lonely and afflicted. David, lonely and afflicted.  We think of David as one who overcame in faith, loving the Lord. Believing David, Friend of God.  Forgotten by Jesse, and pressing forward in faith. Enduring and overcoming living in a ditch with a kidnapped family. Pressed into being a gun, or vigilante, for hire.

David was many things, David wrote and fully explained God's Word. Rare.

David is a Timothy to the Lord Jesus. No one like him

Philippians 2: 19
Now I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I learn how you are doing. 20 I have nobody else like him who will genuinely care for your needs. 21 For all the others look after their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 1

He has spoken to us by his Son,
whom He appointed
The Heir of All Things,
through whom also He created the world.

3 He is the radiance of the glory of God
and
The exact imprint of His Nature,
 and
He upholds the universe by the Word of His Power.

 After making purification for sins,
He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

He is the radiance of the glory of God
and
The exact imprint of His Nature,
 and
He upholds the universe by the Word of His Power

Isaiah 9:13

Go and learn what this means:
‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’
For I came not to call the righteous,
but sinners.”

 Jesus saw His time on earth as Joy. The largest and most recorded teaching of Jesus is John 14, 15, 16 and 17. Jesus was leaving the Ones He called Beloved. Jesus was saying goodbye to some for many decades. Jesus, Beloved, wanted them to remember, remember, remember what God saw of His Time as Grace upon Grace. Joy. His Time healing the lame, blind, leprous, deaf and even the dead on so many levels. The poor finally had Good News. Joy.

Why would Jesus point out He brings Good News? Isaiah 7 says this is a time of inequality. Jesus known as one who overly loved wine, food and companionship running the gamut. Even Samarions and Temple politicians. Jesus goes so far as to call the time of Luke, the Glorious Physician, not healthy, needing expert care, Jesus called the time sick.

The Nature of God during times He called lacking health.

In our lifetime, many of the Nations of Africa have experienced wild political unrest. Equatorial Guinea, for example, became a vacation haven for Spain. 1926- 1979. It was the destination for having a seven bedroom vacation home. Beautiful Equatorial Guinea.  August 3, 1979, the nephew of Macías Nguema, Teodoro Obiang deposed his uncle on 3 August 1979, in a bloody coup d'état. It was bloody, bloody and bloody.

Now the stucco 7 bedroom homes, 1979 owners were lucky to be out of the country, now houses oil people. And about 2005, Amarada Hess  wanted to help Equatorial Guinea overcome the average life span of 42 years old as the passing on to Heaven year.  Amarada Hess went to Obiang and offered to put in 12 million dollars of water pipes to give fresh, no mosquito eggs, water to the nation. The dictator, who allows his troops to constantly shoot bullets in the air, frequently killing innocents by the falling bullets, refused and asked for the $12 million dollars himself. No water granted.

This was the state of Judea at the time of Christ Jesus.
The Romans wanted to bring water to an area of the world that did have longevity. But the Herods were not so interested. Pilate went into the Royal Stoaa and stole funds to build the Aqueduct.

Luke 5 booths describe trade around something like what was so well-built. Jesus called Matthew from a Booth. This was what the Aqueduct was used for. Booths. Was Matthew in Caesarea? No.

The Herods had plenty of money. Pontius Pilate raided the Money Changer's building, the Royal Stoaa, on Temple Grounds, and then beat, sometimes to death, men of Judea who complained. Using plain clothes soldiers and clubs. Josephus records the theft, the violence and the need for water.

The Nature of God during times He called lacking health.

Jesus called Himself Living Water. And Jesus frequently called on the forgiven, the healed and the time to move on as, "Rise." Jesus said don't fuss over the people who call names, they will see and be called Beloved of God. Jesus then said, do fuss over the people who call you names.
Jesus was God and He knew what He meant.   Jesus went to the woman at the well and told her, He is the Son of God bringing Light into the World. Water was a crucial subject to the Lord. And to the people in this time of Judea.

You know the people who would have the fresh water first. Jesus has something to say about this as well.

Luke 13

There were some present at that very time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And he answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered in this way? 3 No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them: do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who lived in Jerusalem? 5 No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.”

The Nature of God during times He called lacking health.

Repent. When John the Baptist said this, it was needed. And later, Jesus would have to forgive John the Baptist gabbing with fear, at time of death, to the Roman guard who would return to Rome with questions, awe and wonder about Jesus Christ.

Repent. How did Jesus reflect the Nature of God during times He called lacking health. Good to know. Mercifully.  Jesus begins where Genesis begins. Light of the World. Then a wedding.

Quelle Surprise.   This is the same reason the taxes were being collected in Luke 1.  Caesar Augustus was improving the income taxes of Rome by saying how inheritance and taxes would be collected through new forms of marriage. Power Power Power. Money Money Money. Upsets, violence and revolts. Weird weird weird weather. Hmm.

Jesus takes Water to the Samaritans. What we do to the least of those. Jesus walked on water.
Jesus turns Water into Wine. The Christ of God, Jesus, does all things well.  Later, Jesus tells Peter to feed His sheep.

Mercy and not sacrifice.
Jesus knew Zacchaeus.  Jesus knew Nathaniel's Prayer, unseen.  Jesus never ran after the nine lepers and insisted they do right or be lepers again. Jesus, Messiah, the Christ of God, healed many blind men, only Timaeus is one of the few named for being healed.  Jesus knew it was a time of Herod taking his brother's wife. Jesus knew Adultery was being rewarded by taxation laws in Rome. Jesus didn't run down to get the women caught in Adultery. But He didn't hand out the awards for participation, either.  Jesus said Blessed are the Peacemakers. Jesus did not fire John the Baptist, even if he did feel this let John the Baptist's career down some.

Jesus never jumped up on a table after Doubting Thomas wanted to go to Jerusalem and die with Jesus and yell that Thomas was always Doubter.  Jesus did tell Peter, oh, I know Peter pretty well.

Jesus told us He could have called down Legions of Heavenly Armies. Far out powering the less than powerful display of Pontius Pilate's.  And instead of saying, "Father forgive them, they know not what they do." Jesus could have said, "Ok, God, Justice and Backsies."

Jesus gave us a New, New, New Commandment, New Commandment, New Commandment. Not even Moses would have dared.  To Love One Another.  And after Easter, Jesus didn't just travel with the 72 Disciples and the 11 Disciples, Jesus instead traveled with 500.

The Nature of God during times He called lacking health.

YAY JESUS!

To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.

none who wait for you shall be put to shame

O Lord,  teach me your paths
‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’
For I came not to call the righteous,
but sinners.
He is the radiance of the glory of God
and
The exact imprint of His Nature,
 and
He upholds the universe by the Word of His Power.

 You are the God of my salvation
for You I wait all the day long
Good and upright is the Lord

Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
    according to your steadfast love remember me,
    for the sake of
your goodness, O Lord!

Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love
Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

He instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in what is right,
    and teaches the humble his way.
Why Jesus told Peter and not Thomas?
His soul shall abide in well-being,
    and his offspring shall inherit the land

All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness,
    for those who keep His covenant and his testimonies

Consider my affliction and my trouble,
    and forgive all my sins.

May integrity and uprightness preserve me,
    for I wait for you.

22 Redeem Israel, O God,
    out of all his troubles.

We ask ALL This
for ALL in Your Salvation
in the Highest Name
of Jesus Christ
Our Savior.

Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
