Jonah 2 ~ God's love for them

The events of life have poured in, Jonah has to pray the foxhole prayer.

Jonah 2

1From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the LORD his God.
2 He said:
“In my distress I called to the LORD,
and He answered me."

From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help,
and You listened to my cry.

3 You hurled me into the depths,
into the very heart of the seas,
and the currents swirled about me;
all your waves and breakers
swept over me.

4 I said, ‘I have been banished
from your sight;
yet I will look again
toward your holy temple.’

5 The engulfing waters threatened me, [waters were at my throat]
the deep surrounded me;
seaweed was wrapped around my head.
6 To the roots of the mountains I sank down;
the earth beneath barred me in forever.
But you, LORD my God,
brought my life up from the pit.

7 “When my life was ebbing away,
I remembered you, LORD,
and my prayer rose to you,
to your holy temple.

8 “Those who cling to worthless idols
turn away from God’s love for them.

9 But I, with shouts of grateful praise,
will sacrifice to you.
What I have vowed I will make good.
I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the LORD.’”
10 And the LORD commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.

So it is with faith. And a couple of quotes to back this up....

Mark 10:15
I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God
like a little child will never enter it.

Matthew 17:20
Jesus replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth,
if you have faith as small as a mustard seed,
you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there'
and it will move.
Nothing will be impossible for you."

Let's talk about what isn't in the news very often. Sudden Cardiac Death.  SADS, "Sudden Adult Death Syndrome" A is arrhythmic, not Adult.  The topic is of interest to me, I have arrhythmia.

AHA, American Heart Association, says Covid led to a rearranging of death causes. And because of Covid, Heart related deaths suddenly appeared more.  The insurance industry said a lot more deaths of younger people.  I know of 7 people in a year and a half. From age 35 to age 62.

AHA, American Heart Association, says:
As many as 450,000 Americans die every year from a sudden, fatal heart condition, and in slightly more than one in ten cases the cause remains unexplained even after an autopsy. Researchers from the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) and their colleagues found that nearly 20 percent of patients with unexplained sudden cardiac death -- most of whom were under age 50 -- carried rare genetic variants. These variants likely raised their risk of sudden cardiac death. In some cases, their deaths may have been prevented if their doctors had known about their genetic predisposition to heart disease. The study findings were published last week in JAMA Cardiology.

Other medical publications are assuring us it's not the Vaccine. And other medical publications are saying this is an effect of Covid long term.

Time will tell the medical reason exactly. The American Heart Association seems fairly sure.
But statistically Covid rearranged reasons for death worldwide.

I've lost a daughter at birth. Any death doesn't exactly mirror another. Sudden loss is devastating.  One of the people I miss the most is my godmother Marilyn, who died at age 62 of breast cancer metastasis into her liver. Marilyn was a wonderful, wonderful Christian and fantastic godmother. She didn't want to go, but God gave her peace towards the end of her life. She would have loved to see her grandchild named for her grow up. And her other granddaughter too. Marilyn was holding her namesake grandchild at my grandmother Anita's beautiful graveside ceremony. Her granddaughter has her husband's eyes. And suddenly I was overcome at the idea of Marilyn leaving us. She held my arm and said, "All things work out, it will be alright." I'm grateful, Marilyn missed some of the harsher things in life.

My friend Brian in 3rd grade, the longest living child with Leukemia. Age 11.

Later, I heard a sermon about Cancer being something God doesn't control. That's not true. Psalm 116 assures us, especially the godly, have their time known to God, our Father.

We sometimes say we have beaten Cancer, we have cheated death. No. We haven't changed God's plan by science. The people who have died knowing Jesus aren't lost. They are alive forever, where we will live in Jesus eternally.

Psalm 116

I love the Lord!

Because He has heard
my voice and my pleas for mercy.

2 Because He inclined his ear to me,
therefore I will call on him as long as I live.

3 The snares of death encompassed me;
    the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me;
    I suffered distress and anguish.

4 Then I called on the name of the Lord:
“O Lord, I pray, deliver my soul!”

5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous;
    our God is merciful.
6 The Lord preserves the simple;
when I was brought low, He saved me.
7 Return, O my soul, to your rest;
for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.

8 For you have delivered my soul from death,
    my eyes from tears,
    my feet from stumbling;
9 I will walk before the Lord
in the land of the living.

10 I believed, even when I spoke:
    “I am greatly afflicted”;
11 I said in my alarm,
    “All mankind are liars.”

12 What shall I render to the Lord
for all His benefits to me?

13 I will lift up the cup of salvation
and call on the name of the Lord,
14 I will pay my vows to the Lord
in the presence of all his people.

Precious
in the sight of the Lord
    is the death
 of his saints.

O Lord, I am your servant!

I am your servant, the son of your maidservant.
    You have loosed my bonds.

17 I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving
and call on the name of the Lord.

18 I will pay my vows to the Lord
in the presence of all his people,
19 in the courts of the house of the Lord,
    in your midst, O Jerusalem.
Praise the Lord!

I Thessalonians 4:13-14
We do not want you to be uninformed, brethren,
about those who are asleep,
so that you will not grieve
as do the rest who have no hope.

Psalm 53:2
God looks down from heaven on the children of man to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.

Psalm 14:2
The LORD looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.

Genesis 18:21
I will go down to see if their actions fully justify the outcry that has reached Me. If not, I will find out

John 5:17
Jesus said, "My Father has never stopped working,
and this is why I keep on working."

Abba, Father God,

May God Bless us by dwelling in us.
Bless us by dwelling  in those we Love.

Bless us surrounding, upholding, comforting us
and Blessing us in the Highest Name of Jesus Christ.

May we be so blessed as to seek God first.
Blessed be the Highest Name of Jesus
for Fulfilling His Word to us.

This is the 36th Wedding year for Edward and me.
Surrounded us with Your Love and Light, Father.

Years have pasted, Father God,
and yet, we have so many rich memories.
Thank You, Father. Abba.

Proverbs 8:28-32 ~ Rejoicing in His inhabited world and delighting in the children of man

Philippians 2:19-30

19 I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, so that I too may be cheered by news of you. 20 For I have no one like him, who will be genuinely concerned for your welfare. 21 For they all seek their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.

22 But you know Timothy's proven worth, how as a son with a father he has served with me in the gospel.

23 I hope therefore to send him just as soon as I see how it will go with me, 24 and I trust in the Lord that shortly I myself will come also.

25 I have thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus my brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier, and your messenger and minister to my need, 26 for he has been longing for you all and has been distressed because you heard that he was ill. 27 Indeed he was ill, near to death. But God had mercy on him, and not only on him but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.

28 I am the more eager to send him, therefore, that you may rejoice at seeing him again, and that I may be less anxious. 29 So receive him in the Lord with all joy, and honor such men, 30 for he nearly died for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete what was lacking in your service to me.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep.

And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good.

And God separated the light from the darkness.

Proverbs 8

28 When He made firm the skies above,
when He established the fountains of the deep,

29 when He assigned to the sea its limit,
so that the waters might not transgress His command,
when He marked out the foundations of the earth,

30 then I was beside him, like a master workman,
and I was daily His delight,
rejoicing before Him always,

31 rejoicing in His inhabited world
and delighting in the children of man.

32“And now, O sons, listen to me:
blessed are those who keep my ways."

Proverbs 8

Rejoicing in His inhabited world
and
delighting in the children of man

God wants to save the world
in Jesus Christ

Genesis 18

32 Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?”

He answered, “For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.”

33 When the Lord had finished speaking with Abraham, he left, and Abraham returned home.

Then Abraham spoke up again: “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes, 28 what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five people?”

The Lord is close to those with a broken heart and hears their cry.

Making amends

Genesis 42:37
Then Reuben said to his father, "You may kill my two sons if I don't bring Benjamin back to you. I'll be responsible for him, and I promise to bring him back."

The Tender Heart of God is shown in the full remorse of David

2 Samuel 12

5 David burned with anger against the man and said to Nathan, “As surely as the Lord lives, the man who did this must die! 6 He must pay for that lamb four times over, because he did such a thing and had no pity.”

7 Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man! This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul. 8 I gave your master’s house to you, and your master’s wives into your arms. I gave you all Israel and Judah. And if all this had been too little, I would have given you even more. 9 Why did you despise the word of the Lord by doing what is evil in his eyes?

13 Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.”

Nathan replied, “The Lord has taken away your sin. You are not going to die.

Luke 3
23 Jesus, when he began his ministry, was about thirty years of age, being the son (as was supposed) of Joseph, the son of Heli, 24 the son of Matthat, the son of Levi, the son of Melchi, the son of Jannai, the son of Joseph, 25 the son of Mattathias, the son of Amos, the son of Nahum, the son of Esli, the son of Naggai, 26 the son of Maath, the son of Mattathias, the son of Semein, the son of Josech, the son of Joda, 27 the son of Joanan, the son of Rhesa, the son of Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel,] the son of Neri, 28 the son of Melchi, the son of Addi, the son of Cosam, the son of Elmadam, the son of Er, 29 the son of Joshua, the son of Eliezer, the son of Jorim, the son of Matthat, the son of Levi, 30 the son of Simeon, the son of Judah, the son of Joseph, the son of Jonam, the son of Eliakim, 31 the son of Melea, the son of Menna, the son of Mattatha,

the son of Nathanthe son of David, 32 the son of Jesse, the son of Obed, the son of Boaz, the son of Sala, the son of Nahshon,

John 1

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

This looks like the Resurrected Jesus returns home to His Family

Matthew 9:36

Jesus saw the crowds,
He had compassion on them,
because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

John 5:17
Jesus said to them, "My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working."

"Our Father in Heaven,
hallowed be Your Name, Jesus.

John 6
28 Then they inquired, “What must we do to perform
the works of God?”
Jesus replied,
“The work of God is this:
To believe in the One He has sent.”

Father, we ask Jesus in His Righteousness to pray with us.
The Prayers of a Righteous Man availeth much.

Your Kingdom come,
Your Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this Day
our daily bread,

Forgive us our trespass, as we also have forgiven our trespassers.

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

As John saw in Revelation 6
Thine is the Kingdom,
Thine is the Power,
Thine is the Glory.

Forever and ever. In Jesus, we ask, Amen.

Jesus help us in this Nation to be in Your Word Joyfully
Covered in God's Love,
For Your Word to Speak Healing.
The Comfort of our Nation
in
this
time.

The end of trouble surrounding this Virus.

Praying for Worldwide Recovery,
Grateful for Peace.
Peace, Liberty and Justice.

Dwell in us, mightily, Father.
Dwell in those we Love in Your Mercy and Strength.
Help us daily to stay on Your Path,
seeking You first.
In Jesus, we will finish well.

A calm Gulf of Mexico we pray.
And the healing of all divisions to Unity,
where we find Liberty and Justice for all.

Amen in Jesus.

About Me

My photo
Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
