John 4:48-52 ~ The man took Jesus at His Word

FAITH, WORDS, ACTIONS, And ATTITUDES

John 4:48-52

48 “Unless you people see signs and wonders,” Jesus told him, “you will never believe.”

49 The royal official said, “Sir, come down before my child dies.”

50 “Go,” Jesus replied, “your son will live.”

The man took Jesus at his word and departed.

 51 While he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living. 52 When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him, “Yesterday, at one in the afternoon, the fever left him.”

Luke 4:31-36

I know who you are—the Holy One of God!”

35 “Be quiet!” Jesus said sternly. “Come out of him!” Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him.

36 All the people were amazed and said to each other, “What words these are! With authority and power he gives orders to impure spirits and they come out!”

Luke 5:4-6

4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”

5 Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”

6 When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break.

Luke 5:12-14

When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”

13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.

14 Then Jesus ordered him, “Don’t tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”

Matthew 17:26-27

Jesus said to him.  “But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”

Father God,

Each day we get up and think about our blessings, our plans, the work we do and the Good Work You give us. Lead us and guide us in Your direction. Enable us to be on Your Path. We thank You for Your care for these years we have lived.

Father God, I lift up those I love and the people You have graciously place in my life. For the conversations we've had about cares and concerns, we know as we pray, You hear and answer. I lift up the allergy season ahead and the cold I have. I'm praying for healing ears.

We are asking for the health of the man from Saturday. For Edward's health. For this city and small businesses stability, employment and future employment. For parents who have aged to have joy and health. For prayers to increase health and provide future health. For faith to increase and hope is not foreign. That we all face the future with the joy God would have in us. Living and Abiding in the Word of God in our hearts.

For the blessings, You have given us, we say thank You, Father.

We holds fast to You, Father in love, You will deliver us;
You will protect us, because we know Jesus.

When we call to You, You will answer us;
You will be with us in trouble;
You will rescue us and honor us.

With long life You will satisfy us
and show us Your salvation.

Oh His Word, we will believe. Amen in Jesus Lord.

John 17:9-23 ~ so that the world may know that You sent Jesus and loved us even as You loved Jesus.

John 17:9-23

I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. 10 All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. 11 And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one.

12 While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

14 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one [from evil]. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them [Set them apart for holy service to God] in the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sake I consecrate myself [I sanctify myself; or I set myself apart for holy service to God], that they also may be sanctified [may be set apart] in truth.

20 “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.

Jesus felt so comfortable with His people (us) He would sit to teach, or sit in a boat to teach. When you look at the last Chapter of John's Gospel (Truth) you find the Disciples are sitting with God's Son, Who provided breakfast, and  then they have the gall to squabble with Jesus about John and life and Romans. So, they were pretty comfortable.

And looking for a Super Bowl winning pass - one day they told Jesus, collectively, Jesus needed to provide them with Winning Prayer Ability. Jesus, being God Himself, replies with a story about friends. And then fathers and sons. Jesus was major league fond of these knuckle heads. Jesus didn't even call down fire on them when they suggested burning the Samaritans up. Jesus didn't even fire these men when they tried to chase children away from Jesus.

John 17, Jesus praying is alive. The Word of God alive tells us Abba prays for us. Revelation tells us God inhales prayer and hears us. Remarkable what such a Vast and Loving God does for us and His Abilities.

Famous people who pray have different ideas on prayer. Fascinating. Really we are learning our relationship to God is unique. Each of us. Our life story, what we learn from God. We are the Easter People and in the New Covenant, where John tells us Jesus is the Light of the World existing in all of mankind, the New Covenant also tells us Father God places His ways, His plan, and knowledge of Him in us.

Father Francis MacNutt (b 1925) is an American former Roman Catholic priest. Graduate of Harvard and The Catholic University of America, Washington. Author of "The Power to Heal" among many other books. Is now married to Judith MacNutt, M.A. - Christian Healing Ministries - a clinical psychologist. Judith first met Francis MacNutt briefly in Jerusalem in 1975. They have had many, many years of healing in the Name, Glory and Power of Jesus. My mother has friend named Patricia, who is also a psychologist, who was going stone, cold blind from inherited failure of blood vessels to the eyes. Patricia went all over the USA where the MacNutts were doing healing seminars. Patricia went everywhere Jesus was having healing. Patricia angered her doctors because she refused to learn Braille - a much needed step in retaining the ability to read when you go for sighted to blind. And fully astonished the eye doctors finding she was healed of an impossible cure. Asked why Patricia prayed with all sincerity and earnestness constantly to Jesus explaining to Our Father she needed her eyes to continue to heal people. Insisting this was in line with His goodness. Constant prayer. Sometimes weeping, sometimes angry. Patricia was healed for life.

Judith and Francis MacNutt have many, many people who fully understand they have a real and sincere healing ministry where Jesus and His Father work their mighty works. They tell us we have to pray with people for a long time and in this sincerity God is willing, willing, willing. And we know He is.
Thank Jesus.

My mother was healed of a documented Thyroid tumor by asking at a Wednesday Healing Service at Church of the Resurrection being Prayed over by Father Ted Nelson. Who would very, very promptly remind us Jesus is the healer and that is the end of the story about Fr. Nelson. Rightly said. My mother had had this tumor for two years according to her driver license photo. And Jesus healed her in about 15 minutes where she reported Jesus decided to microwave her entire body.

George Mueller was a native Prussian b. 1805-1898 at the age of 92. George lived and moved with joy in the great awakening of 1859 which he said “led to the conversion of hundreds of thousands.”1 He did follow up work for D. L. Moody,2 preached for Charles Spurgeon,3 and inspired the missionary faith of Hudson Taylor. His goal was to find homes for 150,000 orphans in England - and he did. While preaching three services a week. He spent most of his life in Bristol, England and pastored the same church there for over sixty-six years. George had a style of praying unique to him. He walked in a place, to pray for orphans or to begin an orphanage and he said, "Jesus, please."

I'm not sure we could point to many styles of prayer like we know about Jesus who loved to pray for hours to converse with His Abba. Making His Abba our Abba. We could remember something very important though - Abraham is the Father of Nations. Abraham was willing to stand and give God his life moving to unknown territories and finding rest under the Oaks of Mamre. Abraham was willing to go toe to toe with the God Abraham was certain of - created all of the universe - and ask God in His Nature to have Mercy and expect God to show Mercy.

Jacob understood the power of words regarding God. Jacob understood to break generational silliness requiring one blessing. Jacob was so certain of God's Willingness to Bless and lived each day of this belief. Even knowing to leave the promised land to let God be God. Jacob was renamed in this power of belief - The Nation of God. Jacob blessed and blessed and blessed and in this tender love - blesses us today. Teaching us of faith. God's Goodness.

David - his belief in prayer could shape our lives today. David believed that if God judged against us - because He is so loving - He would relent and harsh circumstance would reveal a blessing. David believed this without much proof for 21 years.

My opinion on prayer is this. Why wouldn't we pray the Lord's Prayer added on to with Revelation Chapter 6, the eyewitness of John seeing God's Kingdom, Power and Glory. And why wouldn't we close the Lord's Prayer adding in John 14 and 15 - praying in the Name of Jesus. And why wouldn't we pray in the style of George Mueller and believe Jesus knew the blind mens' needs before they ever did and pray "Jesus, please" and why wouldn't we pray like Pat as we have constant conversation with Father God. And why wouldn't we want to treat God with respect. Abiding in the Word of God.

Our Father,
Who is in Heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name,
Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will be Done
on earth as in Heaven.
Give us this day
our Daily Bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into Temptation.
Deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory.

And when the saints go marching in, how we want to be in that Number.

Covered and cared, loved, and forgiven, upheld and encouraged,
We are praying for the people You have give us. Our loved ones, in Jesus the Lord. Amen.

John 12:44-50 ~ Jesus has come into the world as Light, that we will not remain in darkness

John 12:44-50J

44 And Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. 45 And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. 46 I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.

 47 If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.

48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

 49 For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—what to say and what to speak.

50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me.”

The emotions of God for us to understand Who is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings.

Jesus cries out, "Believe."

Father God tells us clearly, the work of mankind is to Believe.

Jesus want us to be clear, to live in His Light.

Our Father is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Jesus tells us God is not condemning.

Exodus 34:6
The LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness,"

Jesus tells us how to worship God in Spirit and in Truth.

John 13:34
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

The Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—what to say and what to speak. And I know that his commandment is eternal life.

John 6
68 Simon Peter replied, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We believe and know that You are the Holy One of God.”

Matthew 22:29
Know neither the Scriptures, know the power of God.

Hebrews 1
2 But in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe. 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature, upholding all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Abba,

Light of the World, Where no darkness is dark. We praise You, Abba, for Jesus.

You love mightily and carry our concerns when we look to You in Faith.

Completely covered in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Psalm 50:23 ~ Thanksgiving

Let us be Light bringers

Psalm 50:23

23 The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me;
to one who orders his way rightly
I will show the salvation of God!”

A gratitude list. We don't always have time for a Gratitude Journal, but I have texted myself time to time - my gratitude thoughts.

Our sincere thanks to Father God are the fuel we find His mercies to be.

Our thanks is the warmth when times are chilly. Our gratitude assures us we appreciated goodness during good times - helping us again to have open hearts.

We all know one day in life seems full and the next seems over-whelming - and this life is the same life. Gratitude lists help us carry the sunlight God gives us to the cloudy days.

Father God,

I am very grateful to see the birds in my back yard. I am so grateful to see the migrating birds - we have had a Red Hawk fly into our house and the bird the Hawk was chasing survived as well.

How to say, Thank You, God for the pleasant time to have meals. We sit to tell honest and sometimes hurtful things, Edward, Alexander, have times to support me and I support them.

I made lunch and had remarks my work was good.

Tonight, I made biscuits and Edward decided to make spinach eggs and we jointly clean the kitchen.

I did laundry and Edward did his shirts on hangers.

I have re-found a long lost purse, and the nice lady at Wells Fargo who runs the branch and likes my blouse and is a very kind person. Living where kind conversation occurs is a blessing.

Yesterday I had a new walking companion, Caroline. Blessings to hear about dog therapy work in rehabilitation.

Yesterday, we had a passerbye tell of her loved dog of 22 years. And she took a photo of my dog for his kind eyes.

And today an invitation to Tues Nights, from Justina, but I can't for my Bible Study but maybe this summer.

I have an invitation to lunch  tomorrow with a woman I think is a favorite of the Lord's.

Our Anniversary dinner survived and was lovely as we had two specific and different ideas on dinner. A lovely meal.

Our Anniversary photo had 80 fb likes on our photo. Which makes winter all but disappear. How very, very lovely.

We had a very fast response to Edward's Social Security Disability Report. Edward bounced back from having to fill in serious information.

I stood at the traffic crosswalk for so long, it skipped me, that I had to kindly wave cars to go on, consideration for the pedestrian during rush hour.

I got to have a very heartfelt conversation Tuesday and it was very important and people heard me with understanding and kindness Tuesday afternoon too

Recently we ran into old friends and had a great time with them for 15 20 minutes

Yes and my mom called and said she had a good time and wants to come back and that was lovely.

THE LORD is shining from John 1 The Light of Christ shines in all mankind

Thanks God for the comfort and help I have received to see life with hope and a future.

A very helpful man at Home Depot to analyze the drawer and figure out the right paint for me to do the kitchen cabinets

My younger son fixed our broken faucet. My older son is going to bring us Apple Pie for our Anniversary.

Father God, You are so Vast, that as we tell our thank you's, we are blessed. Renewed and encouraged. In gratitude, let us remember all You have done for us. Being so very grateful for the people You bring us.

For the patience to bounce away from criticism. And move away from petty conversations. To be a joy bringer.

Help us to find honesty within ourselves. To be light bringers rather than light absorbers. To see what we need to see in the people around us to admire them for their good points and to find our own good points leading us away from what is easy and convenient.

Learning to be encouraging instead of fault finding. Yet not white-washers.

To love with our heart and to love with our actions when the heart is not stirred. Bringing with our efforts, joy to the people around us. And wisdom to be the people we are created to be.

So many areas pull us, Father God. Help us each day to sort out the priority.

Your Word says to find comfort in seasons of little warmth and to remain hopeful.

And this is So Very Important. John 5 says to do the Work of Believing that seasons of scant - lead us in problem solving - helping us to find God's Favor is here when we have difficulty/growth times - and in good days learning to know we appreciated the warmth of the days at hand. And will for future days, pleasing Wonderful Jesus.

In Your Love, Our Father, and Wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Psalm 136:1
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!!!

Psalm 107:1
Oh, Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!!!

2 Peter 1:2
Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

Philippians 4
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think on these things.

And the God of peace will be with you all.

God is awe inspiring.

Psalm 58 ~ Surely there is a reward for the righteous

 Psalm 58

A Miktam of David.

58 Do you indeed decree what is right, you gods?
Do you judge the children of man uprightly?
2No, in your hearts you devise wrongs;
your hands deal out violence on earth.

3 The wicked are estranged from the womb;
they go astray from birth, speaking lies.
4 They have venom like the venom of a serpent,
like the deaf adder that stops its ear,

5 so that it does not hear the voice of charmers
or of the cunning enchanter.

6 O God, break the teeth in their mouths;
tear out the fangs of the young lions, O Lord!

7 Let them vanish like water that runs away;
when he aims his arrows, let them be blunted.

8 Let them be like the snail that dissolves into slime,
like the stillborn child who never sees the sun.

9 Sooner than your pots can feel the heat of thorns,
whether green or ablaze, may he sweep them away!

10 The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance;
he will bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked.

11 Mankind will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous;
surely there is a God who judges on earth.”

So what does your view on the world look like?

Well, in the last few months, this was the view from my window across the back 3 acre pond. My mother's very charming 87 year old boyfriend was worried about the neighbor across the pond. She is in her 8th decade and lost her husband, then had his Azalea bushed taken out because, frankly, they just drink and drink water. So, Jack said he was worried the neighbor was perhaps ill because the house and the yard looked a little forlorn.

And we got out the binoculars and I took a quick look and said she just was older and the house looked pretty much the way it does with one person living there. And... in about 3 weeks time - voila all the, and I mean, all the, windows all over the house were ON. It was night all the blinds are usually up and there were two mature adults running from room to room with hands up.

Well, that got our attention. We don't know our neighbor well. It's too different streets and the pond does not have a gap. We have had a few hollered conversations across the pond in 16 years about things like - wood beetles. And drought resistant Plumbago. And ducks. So, Edward said get the binoculars. Of course, of course, of course we did. And we (I) saw mature people with their hands in the air running from room to room in a fast pace and then we saw they were yelling into the phone. Very agitated. And we worried. Of course we did. So we had to, of course we did, we had to see if we got a glimpse of our 80 year old neighbor. Because, thankfully this was not a burglary, but was a interior flood, or a hospital visit. Something was ON.

And of course, we had to keep checking. You know, if you are not handy with binoculars, probably you should not stand in a lighted room with your elbows out - checking on the neighbors. Because you find out that in the middle of disaster, suddenly the lights go off at the neighbors and they want to know why you thought they were interesting. Which provides you with hilarity and then some embarrassment. But you find you surely are not going to use the binoculars any time soon.

Now the good news is, the 80 year old widow has a boyfriend/perhaps husband and is now using the house as a vacation house and when it is not - then all the lights go on - toddlers run through the unfenced yard and - the boyfriend runs after the toddler. So Rejoice with those who rejoice annnnnnd don't get the binoculars on those who are weep - or are apparently agitated.

So how is your view of the world?

And of course, you were told that story, to tell you the next story.

Social Media. We all have view of the world. It's interesting to see facebook belonging to other people - the view changes. And in your 50s, you see more conservative viewpoints with the young people who reveal all. Om.

And here lately - the world has become Navy Blue. We have opinions on opinions that table to tennis to opinions.

And it looks a lot like anger. The Bible runs to two hundred words on anger in the Old Testament alone. There are not a lot of variables on the word angry. We all basically understand each other when we deal with angry people. Duh. Anger.

However... when you get to "Fear" you have variables. Trembling. Anxiety. Worry. Alarm. Concern. David has arrived at Psalm 58 from - fear. C'mon the man literally lived in a ditch in a place called Ziklag and is as bad as this sounds with kidnapped family (1 Samuel 30).  We seem to have a whole lot of fear. The government changing is like Houston in the middle of a Hurricane. This has Arrived. Changes are - - - wot - wot - wot - Swift. Who said Big Government could make Big Changes? What !

We are the generation when we look at our pictures - no one had ever said cell phone - rotary phone with fire to make the dial work - maybe. PC what's that the Presbyterian Church. Personal Computer was next. Then Politically correct. Which is just a version of my justice looks superior to your justice. Only my opinion matters.

So what are we talking about all this anxiety after people voted and a decision was made.

We are afraid.

Afraid health care won't be there.

Afraid our parents won't be there. Afraid what condition they will be in.

Afraid our children will be conscripted in war.

Afraid a Job won't be available to keep us, our our parents and children alive.

We are afraid at the outrageous cost of education.

We are afraid the specific training or education will mean zero.

We are super concerned with attitudes of unkindness. Fear.

We are afraid of the very loud and weird opinions that suddenly have become paramount.

We are afraid that our life was not posh or important and is ending with not splash.

We are afraid of endless days of the blah.

We are a nation afraid of the "other" opinion. And then we flock in circles were we are comfortable and listen to far out opinions from Hollywood and/or our boss.And are seen as the reverse of this too.

Be clear what the anger is about in "Opinions."

This is plain ol' old fashioned fear.

If Ashton Kutcher stands up and says his America does not have harsh borders at the airport and the diverse communities are welcome - he has some fear. (Ok, I have some concern too - there are 8 countries terror activities never came from on the list ok ok ok.) But you know he is saying this too, "I am reading the polls said Trump would never be elected. And om, he was. And people are saying Hollywood is in a bubble and now people are getting the axe. What if this set of people are the people that would be the unusual ones and like the weird far out from Hollywood. I'm saying that, om, I - Aston Kutcher - have some anxiety that the fringe is going to be cut off and that could mean, Ashton Kutcher isn't loved any more. And, you know, life is so odd right now with facts go this way and that even between news reports, om, maybe you all really do like Trump and the polls are wrong so - I think I will say something about the greater good."

We all might applaud Ashton Kutcher for being in touch the way we all relate to real concerns in a real world.

I personally was told by someone in conservative politics, in 1993,  that the leftist politics planned the bathroom agenda in the year 1993. Now this worries me. I am concerned when I hear that the bathroom has become a think tank.

I think we should avoid think tanks and go with making more Heaven come to earth. And listen beyond the anger to what the fear is. And find consolation. And look at life rejoicing with the fact we can find reason to rejoice with one another. And create some rejoicing.

God. God is not going to desert us when we do find we have anger. In fact one of His best pieces of advice is "Be angry."  He often says, "Fear not!" But when you get to anger - God says - ok be angry - just don't sin. Pretty good advice to keep life running smoothly. God - He is - Good.

Think tanks - any situation in the Bible is going to be found. It's not where Angels fear to tread - this is really - where God - would go - how intricate and messy - He would dwell - to help you up. And that is - Good News. God is Love and you can find all the advice you need to have a hope and a future - In His Word.

Father God, We pray for our Nation and the comfort of the Holy Spirit to surround, enable, help with love and wisdom - the care we need to find within ourselves for God first, ourselves second and others second as well. Knowing God, You Will. In Jesus. Amen.

Psalm 90 ~ May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.

A man of God walked a long way. He had been a Prince, a son of Pharaoh. He had found his life offered a lie, he was not a Prince of Egypt, but a Hebrew, a slave, a no count. Fortune had just thrown him a bone. And this bothered him - his people were not seen as worthy. He struck and killed in anger.

He walked a long way to Midian. To be welcomed. And walked a long way as the family shepherd. Many, many journeys as a Shepherd. Many years to think of palaces and family lost. Family unknown.

And then he walked along way explaining the God, the Mighty, "I am." To his wife, sons and father in law. And walked to Egypt where he could well be killed for this. Meeting Aaron for the first time, putting his sons at risk in the long desert walk to the Land of Goshen.

And here Moses encountered - more of a public servant than a ministry opportunity. The people were - - - grateful? No.

And David understood Moses. And David placed Moses' Psalm prayer in the Book of Psalms.

Moses prays for happiness.

Psalm 90

A prayer of Moses the man of God.

1 Lord, you have been our dwelling place
throughout all generations.
2 Before the mountains were born
or you brought forth the whole world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

3You turn people back to dust,
saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.”
4A thousand years in your sight
are like a day that has just gone by,
or like a watch in the night.
5Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death—
they are like the new grass of the morning:
6In the morning it springs up new,
but by evening it is dry and withered.

7 We are consumed by your anger
and terrified by your indignation.
8You have set our iniquities before you,
our secret sins in the light of your presence.
9All our days pass away under your wrath;
we finish our years with a moan.
10Our days may come to seventy years,
or eighty, if our strength endures;
yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,
for they quickly pass, and we fly away.

11 If only we knew the power of your anger!
Your wrath is as great as the fear that is your due.
12 Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

13 Relent, Lord! How long will it be?
Have compassion on your servants.

14 Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

15 Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
for as many years as we have seen trouble.
16 May your deeds be shown to your servants,
your splendor to their children.

17 May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us;
establish the work of our hands for us—
yes, establish the work of our hands.

Forty... years.

What I see in the Prayer of Moses is profound. Moses expects to see what Jeremiah saw.

Lamentations 3:22-23

22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness!

And Moses whitewashes nothing.
Moses says (( am sure not blaming God for his murder of the Egyptian slave overseer) that God has brought the circumstances to Moses to ensure Moses is willing, able, and confident to do the Good Works God intends Moses to walk in.

15
Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
for as many years as we have seen trouble.
16
May your deeds be shown to your servants,
your splendor to their children.
17
May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us;
establish the work of our hands for us—
yes, establish the work of our hands.

Charles Wesley knew this.

"GOD BURIES HIS WORKMEN, BUT CARRIES ON HIS WORK"

Alleluia. This is the God who in His mercy carried these men who believed very far. This is the God who listens to us pray. And carries us as tenderly. And with His Glory and Love. Alleluia - our cares to Jesus. Amen.

About Me

My photo
Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
