Myrrh

Myrrh is found in Somalia in the time of Jesus' birth

Myrrh is usually associated with embalming.

However, 

Myrrh has been used as an antiseptic in mouthwashes, gargles, and toothpastes.

Used in liniments and salves applied to abrasions and other minor skin ailments.

Like a balm of Gilead.

 Myrrh has evidence to suggest certain compounds in myrrh interact with central NSAID pathways in the brain. Myrrh has been used as a painkiller for toothache pain and in liniments applied to bruises, aching muscles, and sprains.

 Myrrh gum has a history saying this reduces the symptoms of indigestion, ulcers, colds, cough, asthma, respiratory congestion, arthritis, and cancer, although more good scientific evidence is needed to support these uses.

It is probable, the Magi, wise men 

were 

not wishing 

to embalm the Lord Baby Jesus,

and, instead, 

bringing blessings of

Good Health, Long Life, Pain free and a pleasant passing.
