Matthew 25:1-13
"Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be
Like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom.
Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. 3 For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them,
The wise took flasks of oil with their lamps.
As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept. 6 But at midnight there was a cry, 'Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.'
7 Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.'
But the wise answered, saying, 'Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.'
10 And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. 11 Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But He answered, 'Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.'
13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.
How does your house look? This is the very first Christmas after being empty-nesters, we decided to move forward doing a few things rather than clean up. So, a Cleanup will follow tomorrow.
Last year, I created a one room Christmas mess / disaster for a month. February was solidly clean.
January, 2025, was one room filled with paper, ribbons and Modge Podge. 25 or more boxes were Modge Podged on 3 sides with ribbon fixed on the outline of each side of the box. Wrapping gifts is not my forte. Just sincerely do not like wrapping gifts. And boxes with many, many years collected, diligently of beautiful bows, only requiring to be taped to the top and Scotch-taped firmly to the bottom. What I learned: I used Amazon boxes, but product boxes are the smooth surfaces. Now all 3 sides are papered, ribbon glued to all 4 edges, and a big bow with another bow and some decoration in the center. Stored under brown paper in the attic. This Christmas was easy. Have a gift, then place it in the open bottom. We had gifts under the tree already done in the early December days. I suppose you could have bags in the boxes taped to avoid small fingers finding the gift!
I may have gotten a little too, very, comfortable with a Christmas mess. Tomorrow will go better. Pretty sure.
