1 Peter 1:1-7
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
In his great mercy, he has given us new birth
into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable
and undefiled
and will not fade away,
reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are protected by the power of God
through faith for salvation
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
It's as if Peter met Moses - their thinking is so similar...
Exodus 20:20 Life is a test.
Matthew 17:4
Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters--one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah."
And then again, Peter did meet Moses. And Peter probably read all he could about Moses with new eyes and interest. Father God is interesting. Moses explains to the Children of Israel the Name of God, His Mercies, Acts and Abilities, Vast Wisdom, His Holiness and Righteousness.
Peter had a job. To build the unheard of Church we have known to exist for Two Millenniums. Peter was given vast resources on that mountain. Peter then witnesses Jesus come back down the mountain to deal with inept Disciples, a desperate father and son, and the ability to cope as life got very, very trying. Jesus was approaching His Time of Sacrifice. Peter, First Pope, building Jesus' Church sees Jesus cope with emotional crisis and necessity of ministry.
God is - Wise. To give Peter such ability. Gracious to have Peter as an Eyewitness to the Impossible to connect to Moses of 1200 B.C. (Which places this timeline correctly with David's genealogy and Pharaoh Seti II with Salt Papyrus 124.)
God has prepared Heaven to come to earth. The Good News is the astonishingly detail oriented Creator of All. Ancient of Days. Prepares Peter and will prepare us for the good works He has prepared us to walk in.
Hebrews 1 tells us of Angels, explaining Jesus is much superior as the Messiah and Father God's Only Son.
1 Peter 1 is explaining the Ascension of the touchable, eating, teaching, boldly proclaiming Jesus is very permanent. Far better news for us than Moses. And yet - - - Peter is going to know Moses and His Bible - far better now that Jesus has introduced them.
JESUS is ALIVE!!!
Ephesians 4:11-12
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ

But God led the people around by the way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea. And the people of Israel went up out of the land of Egypt equipped for battle.
Ephesians 4:16
From whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up
