Psalm 16 ~ delight

 

Psalm 16

A Miktam of David 

1 Preserve me, O God, for in You I take refuge. 

2 I say to the LORD, "You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you."

3 As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones, 

in whom is all my delight.

4 The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply; 

their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out 

or take their names on my lips.

5 The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; 

You hold my lot.

6 The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;

 indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.

7 I bless the LORD who gives me counsel; 

in the night also my heart instructs me.

8 I have set the LORD always before me; 

because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.

9 Therefore my heart is glad,

 and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure.

10 For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, 

or let your holy one see corruption.

11 You make known to me the path of life;

in Your presence 

there is fullness of joy; 

at Your Right Hand are pleasures forevermore.

I dreamed last night I was going to see a lifelong family member. And they were resting in the office of a Great Uncle.  Finally, we had a conversation. My loved one, family, was different from many decades, he was happy.  Very peaceful. I told him he looked good and he did, very young. 

He said he was in a good place. He was reading the Scriptures again.  And he brought out his Bible and turned to John 1. And began to read.

John 1

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 

5 The light shines in the darkness, 

and the darkness has not overcome it.

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. 8 He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light.

9 The True Light, 

which gives Light to everyone, 

was coming into the world.

And then he said, Light and understanding began to fill him. He felt illuminated. 

This is a new day. A new morning.  We should all pray with hope!

from us

and our children.

With Your Help

We will act justly

 and to love mercy

 and to walk humbly with You, our God.

Dwell in me,

Dwell in us,

Dwell in those we Love,

Help us to seek You first.

And we will finish well, 

in Jesus Christ. 

Help us find and bring

to become

 more Heaven

to this earth.

And in Jesus - this Hope, 

Faith and Love - we will rise up believing Jesus.
