1 Peter 1:13
Therefore, preparing your minds for action,
and being sober-minded,
set your hope fully on the grace
that will be brought to you
at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Yesterday, the post was about dedication to Vote. And then there was the year... I forgot to Vote. And remembered during the ten o'clock news. I felt badly.
When we grew up going to Church in Dallas, I met my husband in the youth group during High School. We did not date in College. And met as he was graduating again that year. And we always sat in the same pew from 1977. Edward's family did have a favorite pew too. On our pew, Rita and Bill Clemmons were there very regularly. We sat by the aisle, they sat in the middle. And we passed the Peace and said hello for years.
I grew up always liking the Governor. And then the Governor was the man from our pew. And I thought I'd always like the Governor. And saw them at one of Edward's long, long time neighborhood friend's wedding and sat with them. I really enjoyed talking to Governor Clemmons and Rita.
And Edward and I got married, we had a new Governor and as a newlywed I said to Edward, "Did you hear that, what he said? I don't like this one, he says the oddest things. How can he be the Governor." Later we had Anne Richards, but she was hilarious even if she was wrong. And I liked her. But then DISD Superintendents kept going to prison for embezzlement and I didn't care for this at all.
Then we had young children and one night we were watching the news. AND I MISSED VOTING. I felt terrible, I was making sure the wrong one didn't win. But the one I hoped for did win.
I felt badly enough, I didn't miss voting again.

him.

He has shown strength with His Arm;
He has
scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts
And then, there is this:

Then take care lest you forget the Lord,
Who brought you out of the land of Egypt,
out of the house of slavery.
Deuteronomy 8:2
And you shall remember the whole Way
that
The Lord your God has led you
these forty years in the wilderness,
that
He might humble you,
testing you to know what was in your heart,
whether you would
keep His Commandments
or not.
Isaiah 46:9
Remember the former things of old;
for I am God,
and there is no other;
I am God,
and
there is none like Me
Psalm 77:11
I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
yes,
I will remember Your Wonders of old.
