Who wants to be known
as the
child of Abraham!!!!
Matthew 3:9-10
Do not tell me, said Jesus,
‘We have Abraham as our father,’
for I tell you,
God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham.
10 Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees.
Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit
is cut down and thrown into the fire.
Romans 4:20-25
No unbelief made him waver concerning the Promise of God
But he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God,
Fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. 22 That is why his faith was “counted to him as righteousness.”
Fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. 22 That is why his faith was “counted to him as righteousness.”
23 But the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone, 24 but for ours also.
It will be counted to us who believe in Him Who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord,
Who was delivered up for our trespasses
and
raised for our justification.
Richard Harris gave a Brilliant representation of Abraham in 1993.
However, I can't help but picture the wind in Abraham's hair as he argued with
our Lord.
Jesus explained why God found Abraham almost completely delightful, however,
did not enjoy Adam and Eve nearly as much. Sincerely.
Abraham liked to argue with God. For Salvation.
Luke 11:5-10
And He said to them,
“Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves, for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; and he will answer from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything’?
I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence he will rise and give him whatever he needs!
And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks Finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
David. David. David.
King David.
And David was a mercenary, a soldier. David did have blood on his hands and go to war. And yet, God seemed to understand David. David could treat our Lord impetuously. And David, like Abraham, could do and go his own wicked way. Because we all do. David did indeed treat The Lord God Almighty impudently. David was protecting the future of Israel.
David prays in Psalm 17:8, "Keep me as the apple of the eye."
The Lord in His Mercy and Wisdom, chose to let David keep the compliment for millenniums.
1 Samuel 13:13-14
“You have acted foolishly,” Samuel declared to Saul. “You have Not kept the command that the LORD your God gave you; if you had, the LORD would have established your kingdom over Israel for all time. 14 But now your Kingdom will not endure; the LORD has sought a man after His own heart and appointed him ruler over His people,
because
you have not kept the Command of the LORD.”
Acts 13:22
After removing Saul, He raised up David as their king and testified about him: ‘I have found David, son of Jesse, a man after My own heart;
he will carry out My will in its entirety.’
By Jove, I think you've got it. And that is another Rex.
John 7:37-38
On the last and greatest day of the feast,
Jesus stood up and called out in a loud Voice,
“If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.
Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said:
‘Streams of living water will flow from within him.’”
Amos 5:24
But let justice roll down like waters,
and
righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
Isaiah 55:1
Come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Revelation 22:1-2
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb
through the middle of the street of the city;
also, on either side of the river,
the tree of Life
with its twelve kinds of fruit,
yielding its fruit each month.
The leaves of the tree were for the healing
of the nations.
Psalm 18:13
The LORD thundered from Heaven;
The Voice
of the Most High
Resounded.
Romans 11:36
For from Him and through Him
and
to Him
are all things.
To Him be glory forever.
Amen.
