John 14:13-14
13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
Matthew 7:7
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
John 15:16
You did not choose Me, but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit--fruit that will remain--so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.
1 John 5:14
And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
Matthew 21:22
"And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."
Mark 11:24
Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.
So if these are magic beans, why doesn't this work?
Would we be the first to ask Jesus this?
No, indeed not. The Disciples came to Jesus and said, roughly, to Him:
Luke 17
5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”
6 And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
Jesus has so much personality, He answers this rather rude demand for more Power. He replies:
7 “Will any one of you who has a servant plowing or keeping sheep say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and recline at table’? 8 Will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare supper for me, and dress properly, and serve me while I eat and drink, and afterward you will eat and drink’? 9 Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded? 10 So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.’”
That is very profoundly unworthy - if anyone expects to treat God as a waiter. If despair and unhappiness are left as a wake and blithely asking Jesus to clean up sins. This will not cause the empathy of God.
Or if someone barely nods to the Lord and says, "Ok, but this is good prayer."
Or maybe these magic beans are for these particularly worthy saints. The Father needed to give them His Power to plant the Church.
Yes. Exactly.
And No.
These men put God first in their lives. What their goal was - is and was and will be - Father God's will.
The reason Jesus taught them to pray and gave them His Words:
"Thy will be done on Heaven and on earth."
These People, Children of God, truly want to be like Isaiah, "Send me!" They Love Jesus.
They want God's Will to unfold in front of them. Wonders. Acts of God. When we Love Jesus and believe His Will is a Hope and a Future, we are these saints of God. Trusting all things interweave to work for Good for those who Love the Lord and work according to His Purpose!
The Living Word of God is for the people who look to Him. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.
Jesus and His Father are still working. And we trust the Holy Spirit to be the light in all of mankind working the Will of God to save the world through Jesus Christ.
Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report have said if we take the ideas and the time phases where these ideas are prevalent: Nietzsche, Jung, Nihilism, Totalitarianism it would boil down to this - not to be too religious - the bottom line is mankind's DNA has moral worth and we are picking with every choice - Heaven or hell.
And then we are saying the Rock of our Foundation is our Father. Our hope for redemption and for hope itself - is from God in Jesus. And His Holy Spirit dwelling in mankind and in our loved ones. In ourselves to fuel those around us. To lift each other up, instead of pulling them down.
Father God,
When we remember Your Words,
We know thanksgiving is what You love. Even in hard circumstance, to find Your actions, what You are doing and how the day and the time will lead us to grow up and go Home to You.
Our Daily Thanksgiving is a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God.
Your kindness has tolerance, and patience. In genuine sincerity, we are to walk the path and all grace abounds, in all things, at all times, having all that we need, we will abound in every good work.
Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things, we will live in peace.
In looking to do Your good will, You will supply every need of ours according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We pray this for the people we love, we carry our love for them in our souls and pray for Jesus to help us move, carry, encourage, and persevere to the Joy of Jesus. We pray for our communities, Churches, jobs and Nation. The troubles of believers around the world, Isis and asking tender hearts for the Lord.
And we will be joyful. For to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
