So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. 22 And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man 

He made into a woman and brought her to the man. 

23 Then the man said,

“This at last is bone of my bones

    and flesh of my flesh;

she shall be called Woman,

    because she was taken out of Man.”

24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. 

25 And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.

We go to God when we are planning, hurting, seeking and we are naked to Him.

Something to consider. We go to God and we are vulnerable. What is His Nature?

No one can come to Me

Adam knew He had something of great importance to speak with God. When we go to speak with God, we should remember Genesis 2.  Adam felt alone on the planet.  Things were sustainable, but he felt alone.  God could have responded in any number of ways to Adam facing life. 

God Gave. 

When the Exodus did happen and we find evidence in History with Seti II's Salt Papyrus. Mosey, half brother to Pharoah Seti II, coming from the desert, and with an army of their own slaves.

1. In Ramses II's topographical list (ca.1275 BC) the place-name "Jacob-El" (#9) appears again (ANET 1969, 242; Simons 1937). The first appearance was in Thutmose III's list. This means that this city of Jacob has been around for two hundred years. Another interesting name that was found is yhw which is "Yahweh" in Hebrew (Horn 1953, 201; Giveon 1964, 244).
2. It seems abundantly clear from all these topographical lists concerning Canaan that the Hebrews were in Canaan at this time, but they did not use the name "Israel" until there league of tribes was well formed by the time of Merneptah.

3. On a statue-base of Amenhotep III at Kom el Hetan which is the funerary temple of Amenhotep III there is a topographical list with the place-name Yspir (Series a:1; Kitchen 1965, 2). This is the same name translated "Joseph-El" in Thutmose III's Topographical list (ANET 1969, 242). After Yspir in both lists the place-name Rkd appears (Series a:2 in Amenhotep III's list, and #79 in Thutmose III's list; Simons 1937, 112). Rkd is the same place-name as Ruhizzi in the El Amarna letters (EA 53:36, 56; EA 5426; EA 56:26; EA 191:2; Rainey 1982, 354). The ruler of Ruhizzi is Arsawuya who seems to be located in northern Palestine or southern Syria (EA 53:36, 56; Moran, 125.

The actual number would be higher, when we consider the wives, daughters, sisters, aunts, grandmothers, children and infants. We find, reading, foreigners were with them as well.

God gave them shelter from hardship. A desert would probably bloom in a fire by night and a cloud cover by day.  Safety from armies. And childbirth help.  Enduring clothing and shoes. Direct guidance from the Lord.

The point being... God gave and gave and gave.

Skipping back to Adam and Eve, they lost a son, murdered by the other.  Cain and Able.  And in the Scriptures, God tells us again, "God is Able."

And we find this goes forth,

John 6:40

 

For it is My Father's will 

that everyone who looks to the Son 

and believes in Him 

shall have eternal life, 

and I will raise him up at the last day.

God knew the pain of Adam and Eve. His Son is Able.

yet I tell you

Even Solomon 

in all his glory 

was not arrayed like one of these. 

But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, 

and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, 

how much more will He clothe you, 

O you of little faith! 

And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, 

nor be worried.

The finding may also spur renewed debate on the dating of biblical events, especially those told in the Book of Exodus. A peer-reviewed article is in process.

The artifact, less than 1 inch in length and width and known as a curse tablet, also recalls the account of Joshua building an altar nearby, which Israeli archaeologist Adam Zertal excavated in the 1980s.

The curse tablet was discovered near Mount Ebal, also called the Mount of the Curse in the books of Deuteronomy and Joshua. Stripling found it in a dump site, part of the structure Zertal identified as Joshua’s altar. Stripling said the finding was a confirmation of the biblical account.

From Mount Ebal to Mount Gerizim. 

The Exodus Travels of Moses and the Children of Israel.

The Archaeology has been found. The Significance of Ebal is evil or curses. The opposite side of the valley is Mount Gerizim, Blessings and Goodness.

Union General Lew Wallace wrote Ben Hur. As he started the novel, Wallace wrote — I do not think myself good enough to be a communicant.

Professor of Archaeology Adam Zertal, University of Haifa, has undergone a transformation of faith. From finding a High Place.

“The altar was supposed to be nonexistent, a legend,” says Zertal, leaning on crutches, a legacy of wounds he suffered in combat during the 1973 Yom Kippur War against Egypt and Syria. “At first we didn’t know what we were excavating. The stones at Mount Ebal are crucial. “If this corroborates exactly what is written in that ancient part of the Bible,” says Zertal, “it means that probably other parts are historically correct. The impact is tremendous.”

Zertal believes this is the altar the Bible Moses wrote saying build on Mount Ebal, after the Israelites arrived in the promised land. This is where land is given among the 12 tribes, and where the Israelites “became a people,” as the Old Testament puts it.

We believe Moses, Prince of Egypt, spoke Directly with The Lord and the Hebrews, to ask the questions and write the Ancient Bible.  The days that wrote how old Adam and Eve became in a world brand new and clean.  And then discuss the age of Moses during the Exodus and Sarah and Abraham in their 80s. God loved and understood the importance of laughter and rest. Sarah laughed to conceive in her 80s. The Scriptures mention Sarah in her 40s. The Bible is clear and certain as to the smell of Lazarus, days in his tomb. And equally detailed is the discussion of Sarah. 

Obviously, Sarah, thousands of years from Eve, is not 400 or 600 or 800 or 40 years old.  The Lord mentions not with capitalization or exclamation marks or even Biblical Headers, that many of the Scriptural people, "would grow old."  And remember, Peter met Moses during the Transfiguration and reports, "A day to God, is a thousand of years."

Oh, we love our culture. And our Pop culture. (Family insider joke. A Bit inside.) But the truth is, we should look again at what God has to say about the longevity of the Disciples.  

God tells the Children of Israel to eat kosher foods.  In the Bronze Age, the average age of death was 19 to 21 years of age. Reducing the world to slaves, meager servants and huge building projects. No one considered life to be very long-lived. However, in Scriptures Proverbs, Solomon's co Authorship, speaks of grey hair and honor. David lived in war, war, war for 26 years, well beyond the regular life span. Died in his 50s. Kosher kept them alive. God was giving knowledge of cleanliness. 

Moses did God's work in his 80s and for 40 years. Salt Papyrus II tells us Moise had left Egypt from a lifespan of youth to old age.  During Pharaoh Seti II. The age of the Mt Ebel fragment. 

We consider the Disciples loved the Lord Jesus Christ and regretted their actions on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. And gave their lives. 

Yet, Loyal St. John lived unto the Second Century. Peter lived to be in his mid-60s. Timothy lived to be in his very late 80s. Almost 90. Titus lived to the 2nd Century in Crete, asking Jesus to come to Crete, the Greek Community of The Jewish Dispersion. Thaddeus is recorded to living well past old age.  The Brother of Jesus, Joseph, is recorded to have lived. As well as Jude, the Brother of Christ (who is confused in history interweaving some Thaddeaus and Jude.) Barnabas too lived to be old. The ancient Roman Empire age of death was 20 to 30 years old. And some of the Disciples only record the method of death. Not the age.

The Disciples would not have been living a kosher lifestyle.

Sarah and Abraham were involved with so many stresses, as the Disciples with stress and stress, stress. Even Paul discusses the stresses of this living in a most turbulent world. We can be sure, they rested like the 7th Day of Creation.
