Galatians 1 ~ the Grace of Christ

Galatians 1

English Standard Version, David Cochran Audio

1 Paul, an apostle— not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead— 2 and all the brothers [adelphoi - brothers and sisters] who are with me,

To the churches of Galatia:

3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

No Other Gospel

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

11 For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man's gospel. 12 For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. 13 For you have heard of my former life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God violently and tried to destroy it. 14 And I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people, so extremely zealous was I for the traditions of my fathers. 15 But when he who had set me apart before I was born, [set me apart from my mother's womb] and who called me by his grace, 16 was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone; [with flesh and blood] 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.

18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas and remained with him fifteen days. 19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James the Lord's brother. 20 (In what I am writing to you, before God, I do not lie!) 21 Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. 22 And I was still unknown in person to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. 23 They only were hearing it said, “He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” 24 And they glorified God because of me.

A beautiful Holy Week to you. Recently I was in a restaurant in Tomball, Texas and saw Tomball is celebrating Easter the week after Easter. With all the celebrations and cheesy things making it fun for the small children & their parents. And it touched me. Easter celebrated. Like Christmas. And the week after - so that your family can celebrate - as family.

I started writing a letter to Father God in my mind this morning, and it was telling Him thank you for the things I've been through and with good things ahead, I was telling Him He is my refuge and realized, I didn't have to write a letter - He heard and He loves me. Like He loves, loves, loves, loves you.

Each day we have an opportunity. Just like Paul. Because Beloved in Jesus Christ, we are all Paul. We share the same Holy Spirit. When we look around us, we have the opportunity to be constantly in prayer. Building up our relationship with the Eternal! The One Who LOVES You. Jesus who chose to be Grace and Truth.
The True Light, which gives Light to everyone - children of God - His Glory, Glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of Grace and Truth. For from His Fullness we have all Received, Grace upon Grace.

It fills me with wonder.

We looked at Judges yesterday. Man, we are there. E
veryone did what was right in his own eyes. The pendulum swings. We sometimes hear of people stealing copper from Church air conditioning pipes.

And yet, and yet, and yet.

What is above this pendulum, Jesus Christ. God does not pivot. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Isaiah 54:10
For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.

This is Holy Week. Jesus Christ loves you. His compassion is for you. You are important, chosen, special to Him. No matter if you are Jew or Greek, He is for you. When no one is right, no one is righteous, He is still there.

Last night, I was reading:

Revelation 8:3-4
And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne, and the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel.

And where is:

John 14:8-14
Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”
9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.

12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. 13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

Actually, John 14 is above the pendulum. When Jesus walked this earth for us, the disciples were probably about - at amplitude level. (And all of them except John, were so afraid on Good Friday they were at the bottom pendulum - shaking with fear.) But in Jesus Christ, in His Holy Spirit, later they could see above the pivot. They never were God, yet the words of John 14 became alive to them. The Words of God are living and active. For you. Today.

Faith. God is what He says.
Hope. He means His promises for you.
Love. God is Love. All the Love in the Universe. For You.

God has always used the analogy of His Love being as High as the Heavens. Have you ever thought God is the Universe. So mighty, so gentle, all of creation and space is needed to hold Him. (Now don't be thinking about the Lion King analogy of we become stars, that is poetic and not what He meant, He'd have said So if He meant it. God says we will go to a new Heaven and a New earth.) Mankind, who knows, maybe we are the center of the Universe. But we still have to circle the Son. So many parables.

Stand in awe of God. His Word. His Works. His Promises. For you. In Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 4
Hear, O sons, a father's instruction,

and be attentive, that you may gain insight,
2 for I give you good precepts;
do not forsake my teaching.
3 When I was a son with my father,
tender, the only one in the sight of my mother,
4 he taught me and said to me,
“Let your heart hold fast my words;
keep my commandments, and live.
5 Get wisdom; get insight;
do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth.

1 Chronicles 29:10
Therefore David blessed the LORD in the presence of all the assembly. And David said: “Blessed are you, O LORD, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever." !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Psalm 70 ~ You are my help and deliverer

Psalm 70

Make haste, O God, to deliver me!
O Lord, make haste to help me!
2 Let them be put to shame and confusion
who seek my life!
Let them be turned back and brought to dishonor
who delight in my hurt!
3 Let them turn back because of their shame
who say, “Aha, Aha!”

4 May all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you!
May those who love your salvation
say evermore, “God is great!”
5 But I am poor and needy;
hasten to me, O God!
You are my help and my deliverer;
O Lord, do not delay!

Have you ever pictured arrow prayers? God sees, hears and catches our arrow prayers. No matter what your nation, God does not have borders. He honors us to pray for our countries and our leaders. We become so bogged down in what we can see and live, we forget. God loves our prayers for our leaders. Pray for your country. God is huge. He loves to be our help and deliverer.

Pray for your nation.

Father God, help the people in government leadership to Honor You. We ask in Jesus Christ. When they serve the people of God, they have a Higher Calling. Help their paths leading to the Higher Path be Your Glory. We ask in the highest name of Jesus. Amen.

Judges 14 ~ And he said to her, “Behold, I have not told "

Judges 14

Samson went down to Timnah, and at Timnah he saw one of the daughters of the Philistines. 2 Then he came up and told his father and mother, “I saw one of the daughters of the Philistines at Timnah. Now get her for me as my wife.” 3 But his father and mother said to him, “Is there not a woman among the daughters of your relatives, or among all our people, that you must go to take a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?” But Samson said to his father, “Get her for me, for she is right in my eyes.”

4 His father and mother did not know that it was from the Lord, for he was seeking an opportunity against the Philistines. At that time the Philistines ruled over Israel.

5 Then Samson went down with his father and mother to Timnah, and they came to the vineyards of Timnah. And behold, a young lion came toward him roaring. 6 Then the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon him, and although he had nothing in his hand, he tore the lion in pieces as one tears a young goat. But he did not tell his father or his mother what he had done. 7 Then he went down and talked with the woman, and she was right in Samson's eyes.

8 After some days he returned to take her. And he turned aside to see the carcass of the lion, and behold, there was a swarm of bees in the body of the lion, and honey. 9 He scraped it out into his hands and went on, eating as he went. And he came to his father and mother and gave some to them, and they ate. But he did not tell them that he had scraped the honey from the carcass of the lion.

10 His father went down to the woman, and Samson prepared a feast there, for so the young men used to do. 11 As soon as the people saw him, they brought thirty companions to be with him. 12 And Samson said to them, “Let me now put a riddle to you. If you can tell me what it is, within the seven days of the feast, and find it out, then I will give you thirty linen garments and thirty changes of clothes, 13 but if you cannot tell me what it is, then you shall give me thirty linen garments and thirty changes of clothes.” And they said to him, “Put your riddle, that we may hear it.” 14 And he said to them,
“Out of the eater came something to eat.
Out of the strong came something sweet.”
And in three days they could not solve the riddle.

15 On the fourth day they said to Samson's wife, “Entice your husband to tell us what the riddle is, lest we burn you and your father's house with fire. Have you invited us here to impoverish us?” 16
And Samson's wife wept over him and said, “You only hate me; you do not love me. You have put a riddle to my people, and you have not told me what it is.” And he said to her, “Behold, I have not told my father nor my mother, and shall I tell you?”

17 She wept before him the seven days that their feast lasted, and on the seventh day he told her, because she pressed him hard. Then she told the riddle to her people. 18 And the men of the city said to him on the seventh day before the sun went down,
“What is sweeter than honey?
What is stronger than a lion?”
And he said to them,
“If you had not plowed with my heifer,
you would not have found out my riddle.”

19 And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon him, and he went down to Ashkelon and struck down thirty men of the town and took their spoil and gave the garments to those who had told the riddle. In hot anger he went back to his father's house.

20 And Samson's wife was given to his companion, who had been his best man.

A couple of months ago, I wrote a Bible Study for our Daughters of the Holy Cross Meeting on Samson.
Let's look at the time of Judges, it helps to establish the framework.

Judges 17:6
In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.

We always ask, was Jesus a Republican, a Socialist, what form of government would Jesus prefer? When God established Israel, He preferred self-government. Unfortunately, man being man turns self-government into the cafeteria plan. Which means then we need a government. And then people disagree and there is war and social upheaval, unions, insurance, house payments.... not the Garden of Eden.

Why didn't Samson's parents spank him when he was a child? From God's perspective - maybe they did. Or maybe they treated him like God's own wonder child. The point that is repulsive in Samson and explains a lot of why the world still works like this - everyone partially believes they are right. They just are doing their level best. And compared to God and His Holiness - it falls far short. What happened next and always happens? God's plan. When we've left our eyes open for so long and we've seen the evil and the good - what happens? God's plan. The evil produce God's plan, the good produce God's plan. It's just than when the pendulum swings to the selfish, sinful, evil - what ever word you use for wrong - portion of the pendulum - everything becomes confusing and unclear.

So - what does Samson mean for us today. We are not God. We do our best to be His Child, His Servant. In each of our large actions, our small actions we do what we can. When we fall short, we pray for grace. When the people around us are doing - get her for me, tearing animals to pieces, jumping in the cage with lioness named Delilah, living unclean habits they aren't aware of, providing thirty companions to be with him, bribing/enticing others, hate for love, love for hate, giving riddles that cannot be solved - what can we do???
Jump out of the way!! If you saw someone jumping off of cliff - would you Do it? NO!

And here is another good one - the little frog sat in the water so long - he didn't notice the warm water was heating up, he was being boiled to become frog leg lunch. LOOK OUT!!

Colossians 1:3
We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you

Psalm 141:5
Let a righteous man strike me—it is a kindness; let him rebuke me—it is oil for my head; let my head not refuse it. Yet my prayer is continually against their evil deeds.

Micah 6:8
He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Father God, what a strange world it is. Help us each day to see what You would have us do. Help us to help others in a humble manner. Help us to help ourselves, loving ourselves as You would have us to, in diligence and hope. Help us to be like Paul and see life as the adventure it is - and short. We were Not built to be here forever. Help us to remember the goal - to grow and to go Home. To You. In the name of Jesus Christ. Let us rest in You and Hope in You. Amen.

Psalm 71 ~ You will restore my life again

Snow Drops. Even a child will be able to plant these flower bulbs & produce amazing results with little effort. With the first rays of sunshine, the green shoots of snowdrops start to emerge. These little flowers are used to pushing their way up through the snow. Snowdrop bulbs are tiny; it's great to spot them poking through the snow, and knowing that spring is only a few weeks away.

God is good on so many different levels. We know He gave us, freely, gave us, His Son, Jesus Christ, God brings us into eternity with Him. We know we have eternal redemption and peace with Him. We trust Him to bring us home and, also, to care for our loved ones.

God is also concerned with our lives, He doesn't just forsake us. He promises He will never leave us or forsake us. We may see many trouble in this life, but His Scripture fully assures us, He is with us helping and caring. Lent is 40 days. God gives us opportunity all the time to renew, regenerate & grow. We can rely upon God, His love doesn't change. But in Jesus Christ, we are new creatures and we can look at our sins, habits or patterns and seize His hope and opportunities to change.

40 days of Flood, 40 days of waiting for land - Genesis 7
40 days of Egyptian embalming for Israel - Genesis 50:3

40 days, the spies of Moses (God did not ask for) looked at the promised land - Numbers 13:25
40 years, the children of Israel wandered after not seizing the promised land - Numbers 14:33
40 days Goliath mocked Israel - 1 Samuel 17:16
40 days, Elijah strengthened by one angelic meal went to Mount Horeb where the Lord passed by and he heard the voice of God - 1 Kings 19:8
40 days to repent, Jonah warned the City of Nineveh until God would overthrow the city.
40 days the people repented in those 40 days and God spared the city - Jonah 3:4
40 days Jesus fasted in the wilderness - Matthew 4:1-2
40 days Jesus was seen on earth after His crucifixion - Acts 1:3

Psalm 71
Max McLean Audio Bible, English Standard Version

1 In you, O LORD, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame.

2 Rescue me and deliver me in your righteousness;
turn your ear to me and save me.

3 Be my rock of refuge,
to which I can always go;
give the command to save me,
for you are my rock and my fortress.

4 Deliver me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked,
from the grasp of evil and cruel men.

5 For you have been my hope, O Sovereign LORD,
my confidence since my youth.

6 From birth I have relied on you;
you brought me forth from my mother's womb.
I will ever praise you.

7 I have become like a portent to many,
but you are my strong refuge.

8 My mouth is filled with your praise,
declaring your splendor all day long.

9 Do not cast me away when I am old;
do not forsake me when my strength is gone.

10 For my enemies speak against me;
those who wait to kill me conspire together.

11 They say, "God has forsaken him;
pursue him and seize him,
for no one will rescue him."

12 Be not far from me, O God;
come quickly, O my God, to help me.

13 May my accusers perish in shame;
may those who want to harm me
be covered with scorn and disgrace.

14 But as for me, I will always have hope;
I will praise you more and more.

15 My mouth will tell of your righteousness,
of your salvation all day long,
though I know not its measure.

16 I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, O Sovereign LORD;
I will proclaim your righteousness, yours alone.

17 Since my youth, O God, you have taught me,
and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.

18 Even when I am old and gray,
do not forsake me, O God,
till I declare your power to the next generation,
your might to all who are to come.

19 Your righteousness reaches to the skies, O God,
you who have done great things.
Who, O God, is like you?

20 Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter,
you will restore my life again;
from the depths of the earth
you will again bring me up.

21 You will increase my honor
and comfort me once again.

22 I will praise you with the harp
for your faithfulness, O my God;
I will sing praise to you with the lyre,
O Holy One of Israel.

23 My lips will shout for joy
when I sing praise to you—
I, whom you have redeemed.

24 My tongue will tell of your righteous acts
all day long,
for those who wanted to harm me
have been put to shame and confusion.

1 Corinthians 12:4-26 ~ For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body —

September 23, 2010

1 Corinthians 12:4-26

Listen -click for new tab

4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5 and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; 6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. 7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8 For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.

12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves [bondservants] or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.

14 For the body does not consist of one member but of many. 15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? 18 But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. 19 If all were a single member, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, [members] yet one body.

21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 22 On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, 24 which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, 25 that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. 26 If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.

Today is Isabelle's 2nd birthday. It should be a joyous occasion, I've dreamed of my daughter's birthday and the birthday parties probably since I was about 4 years old myself. Isabelle won't be here, she lives in heaven. Isabelle lives.

I picked out a birthday cake picture for the Scripture for Today Blogspot, I liked the cake picture, but it seemed a little too much. So I thought again about Isaiah 49. Isaiah writes like the Spirit of God -

John 3:8
The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.

When you read
Isaiah 49 we learn about Jesus, but the Lord mercifully speaks, as well, to parents who've had their children pass on before them. The photo reminds me of Isabelle - well, looked after with love, happy, loving, joyful, with Jesus, learning the pastures, the highways, the places of heaven.

Let me tell you about the daughter Edward and I have. I almost carried her to term, but little 2 lb. Isabelle was born asleep in the Lord. We were surprised to be expecting Isabelle, but like Edward said at the time, we'll have someone else to love. Our teenage sons were pretty excited.

We loved our 2nd sonogram, our wonderful OB Gyn smiled as he told us our daughter was very active, he said she'd probably be taking gymnastic lessons. Dr. M asked me if I'd taken gymnastic lessons. I did and loved them. Isabelle was modest, as well, covering the girl parts when the sonogram passed over to try to see if she really was a girl. We spent some time laughing and chasing her to find out.

Just as Cal, our oldest son, let me know in utero there would be no Chinese food (he still does not eat it), Isabelle let me know I should just about live on tangerines and tomato juice. Nothing seemed to be a food dislike. Isabelle used to get settled down at night like our Springer Spaniel, she kicked until she was comfortable. And she kicked, I used to laugh at her. We really enjoyed getting her room ready for her and planning the showers to come. Isabelle was going to use the same embroidered decorations her older brothers had used.

Isabelle liked the music at church, she'd really kick a whole bunch. Isabelle didn't like people to raise their voices and argue, she would become very still.

As time went by, Isabelle moved less. We had opted out of the tests for birth defects, we'd take Isabelle as she arrived. The terrible news came, Isabelle was very ill with extensive chromosome disorders and would suffer until she died within months of birth. We prayed. Others prayed.

(Matthew 6:19-21 ~ treasure in heaven

1 John 4:7-12 ~ Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God)

When something devastating happens - God helps us.

April 22, 2011

(Re-writing this conversation, combining it with 9/23/10 to make it more clear.)

This birthday time hurts - my husband cries, I cry. My dear friend from H S is my facebook friend & her status update reminded me of a conversation she and I had a long time ago.

God tasted His plan. He lived His plan. He did the hard work. He wept. He walked deliberately into fulfilling His Word. Knowing. Knowing mankind. Knowing in the Old Testament He warned them not to storm up Mount Sinai to see Him. God longed to touch us, to take our pain, to comfort us. So He lived among us, dwelt with us. Knowing what we would do to Him. And just as people see Jesus - GOD - as repugnant - God chose to do this amazing sacrifice - ending all sacrifices in God's Temple and the Temple itself - for All of Mankind.

Suffering? God is There. God Sees Something Important in Mankind Worth Saving.

What is this to you, an individual?

God does the impossible. He takes Jesus crucified, a mockery before men, torn apart. A mockery of being lifted up. And God makes Jesus King. Forever. 2,000 years the Church of God still blazes forth the Truth of His Glory. Eternally.

He places His Words in us to reach us. God takes bruised, bleeding, broken death and turns it into the Faith - it actually happened. Into Hope - He means me. And Love - I am invited to grab and keep God's love for me.

I have a dear friend, life kicked as hard as it will to knock her down. She stumbled, ended her fallen marriage to have an affair with a handsome man. Married him. Together they had a good times, weren't good parents, had a distant, casual relationship with Church. Even less a relationship with Jesus. He had a broken childhood with a mom who didn't teach him how to be a parent, how to know God. He put drugs into himself to compensate for his brokenness. My friend tried to get him to love her more than the drugs. She offered him a lovely home, people who loved him, but she told him he would be divorced over the drugs.

Her husband was taking a nap on the sofa one Friday evening. Janice tried to get him to eat the special meal she'd made. He only groaned. They ate without him. Janice went later in the evening to wake him, again, to discover Harry, not quite 40, was dead. Everyone was screaming. The paramedics were called. Harry had some life left and he was life flighted.

At the hospital, Harry's mother collapsed, she couldn't deal with it and she left Janice to take care of all of it. Alone. Harry had lots of tests run over days and they all concluded Harry was brain dead. The Hospital Chaplain came to help. Janice was in complete anguish - the Chaplain - named Roc promised to help Janice for every minute.

He was 39 years old when his wife discovered he wasn't taking a nap. His mom fled shrieking after the first day. Leaving my friend so alone.

A Hospital Chaplin asked her if she was Christian, she sobbed she was Presbyterian. That Chaplin reached out, took firm hold of her arm and told her she was not going to be alone. He was not going to leave her side until she was at peace. The Hospital Chaplin's name is Rock.

The time came to pull the plug. Rock, anointed her husband's head with oil. He made the sign of the cross. "Harry, Jesus is coming to give you life. When you see the light of Jesus Christ as Lord, reach out and take His hand. Harry, Jesus loves you very much. Reach out and take Jesus' hand."

Harry didn't even have pupils dilating. He was brain dead. Harry opened his eyes, lifted up his head, put his hand up, smiled and died.

My friend was baptized in a creek as soon as she could arrange it. Seeing Jesus come to love Harry changed her life. That is what God is. He comes into a situation - where nothing is right. Nothing is righteous. Only desperate need and willingness to receive Him. And ever particle of light transforms tragedy into Glory.

God helps us. To be reminded again of Harry meeting Jesus reminded me of the night I woke up in the middle of the night. My Aunt Clarice had died. I could feel her soul brush mine. I could feel her overwhelming joy - nothing could compare to that joy in this life.

God helps us. To remember Harry's miracle. To think of Aunt Clarice's joy. To see on Feedjit (at the bottom of the page of our blog) when Isabelle's story is looked at. To remember the most content, beautiful, precious little girl's joyful face. Isabelle Claire Gardere smiled as she was picked up by Jesus. And her face blesses her parents.

1 Corinthians 6:20
For you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

Faith - Jesus actually is who He says He is. And does what He promises to.
Hope - He meant for me
Love - All there ever was, inviting You to be Loved forever.

Jesus Christ. The Alpha and the Omega. God's Son. Given for you.

Hebrews 11:1-34 ~ For He was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.

Walter Cronkite, America's favorite man, coming into our homes telling us the news

Hebrews 11:1-34

11 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the people of old received their commendation. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.

4 By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks. 5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. 7 By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. 10 For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God. 11 By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.

13 These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. 14 For people who speak thus make it clear that they are seeking a homeland. 15 If they had been thinking of that land from which they had gone out, they would have had opportunity to return. 16 But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.

17 By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was in the act of offering up his only son, 18 of whom it was said, “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.” 19 He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead, from which, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back. 20 By faith Isaac invoked future blessings on Jacob and Esau. 21 By faith Jacob, when dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, bowing in worship over the head of his staff. 22 By faith Joseph, at the end of his life, made mention of the exodus of the Israelites and gave directions concerning his bones.

23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw that the child was beautiful, and they were not afraid of the king's edict. 24 By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, 25 choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26 He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward. 27 By faith he left Egypt, not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured as seeing him who is invisible. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and sprinkled the blood, so that the Destroyer of the firstborn might not touch them.

29 By faith the people crossed the Red Sea as on dry land, but the Egyptians, when they attempted to do the same, were drowned. 30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been encircled for seven days. 31 By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.

32 And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets— 33 who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight.

We have all loved George Burns showing us the humor we all instinctively know God has. We loved Morgan Freeman showing us God is a black man, using the components of life we have seen raised in the civil rights movement - to become the Strength of God in an extremely Loving way. This is why these characterizations have Worked for us. These men have given us aspects of God. And we LOVE this. God loves us loving HIM. That inner joy is the love God has for us in just a small, teensy, tiny measure.

Now. For a minute. Let's contemplate God with the empathy He gives us. We love God when we feel that warm and fuzzy connection. There are days in our lives when we have the world shining as all it should be and days where we just endure. Yet, why can't we see God with empathy when HE is God. When God tells us - This Is The Way It Is, we need to remember God isn't just our cuddly Father, but He knows what He is about.

Faith. This is the way it is.

Lifting up the cup of thanksgiving, is work for people. We need to remember to give God the faith and empathy He deserves. He is GOD. Oh. Praise Him.

Psalm 82

Rescue the Weak and Needy

A Psalm of Asaph.

God has taken his place in the divine council;
in the midst of the gods he holds judgment:
2 “How long will you judge unjustly
and show partiality to the wicked? Selah
3 Give justice to the weak and the fatherless;
maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.
4 Rescue the weak and the needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

5 They have neither knowledge nor understanding,
they walk about in darkness;
all the foundations of the earth are shaken.

6 I said, “You are gods,
sons of the Most High, all of you;
7 nevertheless, like men you shall die,
and fall like any prince.”

8 Arise, O God, judge the earth;
for you shall inherit all the nations!

2 Samuel 6 ~ So David went and brought up the Ark of God

2 Samuel 6

David again gathered all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand. 2 And David arose and went with all the people who were with him from Baale-judah to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the Lord of hosts who sits enthroned on the cherubim. 3 And they carried the ark of God on a new cart and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. And Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were driving the new cart, 4 with the ark of God, and Ahio went before the ark.

5 And David and all the house of Israel were celebrating before the Lord, with songs and lyres and harps and tambourines and castanets and cymbals. 6 And when they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. 7 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah, and God struck him down there because of his error, and he died there beside the ark of God. 8 And David was angry because the Lord had broken out against Uzzah. And that place is called Perez-uzzah to this day. 9 And David was afraid of the Lord that day, and he said, “How can the ark of the Lord come to me?” 10 So David was not willing to take the ark of the Lord into the city of David. But David took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite. 11 And the ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months, and the Lord blessed Obed-edom and all his household.

12 And it was told King David, “The Lord has blessed the household of Obed-edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom to the city of David with rejoicing. 13 And when those who bore the ark of the Lord had gone six steps, he sacrificed an ox and a fattened animal. 14 And David danced before the Lord with all his might. And David was wearing a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the horn.

16 As the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, and she despised him in her heart. 17 And they brought in the ark of the Lord and set it in its place, inside the tent that David had pitched for it. And David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord. 18 And when David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts 19 and distributed among all the people, the whole multitude of Israel, both men and women, a cake of bread, a portion of meat, and a cake of raisins to each one. Then all the people departed, each to his house.

20 And David returned to bless his household. But Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David and said, “How the king of Israel honored himself today, uncovering himself today before the eyes of his servants' female servants, as one of the vulgar fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!” 21 And David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me above your father and above all his house, to appoint me as prince over Israel, the people of the Lord—and I will celebrate before the Lord. 22 I will make myself yet more contemptible than this, and I will be abased in your eyes. But by the female servants of whom you have spoken, by them I shall be held in honor.” 23 And Michal the daughter of Saul had no child to the day of her death.

We studied this yesterday in our Ladies Bible Study. I love David. Matter of fact, and God knows, I'd like to Be almost, pretty much, just like David. Of course, this is a combination of religious and holy longing to be all that in being a Child of God and a bit of jealousy. This particular passage of Scripture has always been fascinating to me. One fine day, and this is overwhelming to me, I am going to meet David. I hope he likes me and Jesus has gone ahead to pave that particular path. I hope we will be good friends.

(I rather like to picture David as a child, sitting in the hot sun of Israel, remembering all his families evening conversations, by the fire, of the acts of God and David sitting and picturing them in the fields of Jerusalem, as he watches over the Flock.)

Why is this passage Amazing to me. It is. David, we all remember, got into more trouble than I ever hope to with Bathsheba. (Have you ever thought about Solomon and his friend Sheba, there is an analogy only in myth there.) David was just about to and did leave the Ark behind. Why? It was easier for him. I don't know about you, but if I'd been the Ark (God's wristwatch, wallet, hand bag or disc golf bag) I'd have Hurt Feelings. Which acknowledges, the Ark is not God, but it is His Mercy Seat. And David. Amazing David, was parking it and going on without it. Now, how could David be David in all of God's plans without the Ark?

Put this in perspective of your life. If you were on Mount Nebo and you found the physical Ark hidden, would you leave it behind? As a Child of God, as a scientist, you would want to let it be a Light to the World.

So Uzzah dies. He tried to .... help God. And God is Angry. What do we know about the anger of God???

Psalm 30:5
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.

My friends. Uzzah is a friend to God. God does not see leaving this life as a punishment. If there are, and we know Jesus spoke of Banquets in Heaven, you know Uzzah is having a Banquet in Heaven. Who knows? Maybe there are Heavenly banners with Uzzah's name on it. They all Knew exactly what the Ark was and it's Power. Uzzah wanted and wants to lift God Up.

David. Our hero David saw things from a uniquely human viewpoint. Which makes David human. And God still Loves him.

Which brings us to our title for today "So David went and brought up the Ark of God" it is a noble title, but it has a very human nature component to it and it is - "I want the blessing too! And I waited to see if there was a blessing before I put action into it = lack of faith." Man, how human is that. David had 22 years of believing an anointing was already there and the promise was coming to him. And he just about fumbled the ball. And the Forgiveness. David gets to dance after he goes back to have God's promises.

So really. The whole story is a parable of Jesus, because the whole Bible is about Jesus as Lord and we as His Sheep. Every word.

The parable of David, Uzzah, the Ark and Faith. It is our story every day when we say, forgive us our sins, the things we have done, the things we have left undone. Forgive us for not Loving You with our whole heart. Forgive us for not loving our neighbor as ourselves.

And who in the world loves our neighbor as ourselves. Only John. Only Jonathan. Notice it doesn't say if David was standing really close to the Ark. And only us very rarely. Because there is only one who is Good. And He calls us daily to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Micah 6:8
He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Which brings me to an analogy I have been working on and actually growing to love.

Picture a cruise ship. And I don't mean like the photo. A cruise ship that is incredibly White. Huge. Gigantic. You are standing on the pier. Look UP. The day is blue. So blue. The people getting on the ship are so happy. It's like winning the lottery. Now you are on the deck of the ship. The water is so blue. The sky another shade of blue. The clouds going by are as white as the ship.

On the deck of this enormous ship. Surrounded by people excited and please to look and see as well. People are talking in excited tones to their families about what they see and the voyage ahead. This is much better than the Love Boat or going to Cancun by way of Galveston! Better than being on the Statendam going to New York City from France in winter. This day is perfectly warm. It is going some where beautiful. It is important where the ship is headed.

And, this is important, you can see into the Captain's viewpoint. The windows are clean and there are so many of them. How immaculate the Captain's deck is. People are free to see what He is doing. “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.” 1 Timothy 2:5-6

And on this voyage. There is a Cruise Director. He is a good friend to the captain. A bit like David. A handsome man. In college, this is the man who brought the beer. People have always liked him. And everyone likes this man, and soon it becomes apparent to the passengers, the cruise director Likes one of the passengers. And people get to know each other by telling each of their lives, their opinions from the things that have shaped them. This is where the word fellow ship comes from. People on a ship make friends. Fellowship.

Soon people on the ship know each other, sometimes well and sometimes not so well, just supposition. But the people on the ship notice the Cruise Director's friendship with this woman. Is she a gossip. Is she a hep cat. An adulteress. Is the Cruise Director married. Is this a healthy friendship. Where is this headed. People form ideas and opinions - will the people's opinions advance this ship and the friendship.

By now reading this - you have an opinion. Yet really. This is a Biblical analogy. The Cruise Director's friend - is - you.

Matthew 7:12
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets."

Matthew 5:17
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

Luke 6:31
Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Romans 13:8
Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.

Matthew 22:39
And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Romans 13:10
Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Isaiah 38:1-6, 21-22, 7-8 ~ Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father

Gibon Springs, redirected by Hezekiah, these are his tunnels for water.
It was Hezekiah who blocked the upper outlet of the Gihon spring and channeled the water down to the west side of the City of David. He succeeded in everything he undertook. 2 Chronicles 32:30

Isaiah 38:1-6, 21-22, 7-8

Isaiah 38:1-6
1 In those days Hezekiah became sick and was at the point of death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him, and said to him, “Thus says the Lord: Set your house in order, for you shall die, you shall not recover.” 2 Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, 3 and said, “Please, O Lord, remember how I have walked before you in faithfulness and with a whole heart, and have done what is good in your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

4 Then the word of the Lord came to Isaiah: 5 “Go and say to Hezekiah, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will add fifteen years to your life. 6 I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria, and will defend this city.

Isaiah 38:21-22
21 Now Isaiah had said, “Let them take a cake of figs and apply it to the boil, that he may recover.” 22 Hezekiah also had said, “What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the Lord?”

Isaiah 38:7-8
7 “This shall be the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing that he has promised: 8 Behold, I will make the shadow cast by the declining sun on the dial of Ahaz turn back ten steps.” So the sun turned back on the dial the ten steps by which it had declined.

Faith is not a wish to believe or a will to believe something contrary to reason. Faith is not living as if something were true. Faith is the acceptance of a truth based on the authority of God's revelation, as in Scripture.

Psalm 128 ~ a fruitful vine within your house

Psalm 128

English Standard Version, David Cochran Audio

Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord,
who walks in his ways!
2 You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands;
you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.

3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
within your house;
your children will be like olive shoots
around your table.
4 Behold, thus shall the man be blessed
who fears the Lord.

5 The Lord bless you from Zion!
May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem
all the days of your life!
6 May you see your children's children!
Peace be upon Israel!

My brother was telling me about his childhood birthdays recently. He looked back and said his happiest birthdays were in Emporium, Pennsylvania about four decades ago. I was surprised, because I felt so too (until recently). Maybe we all do. For my family, it was because we were still a family unit and those were the days we could count on ourselves and we felt we were good people and good to the people around us. Days of works and not grace. Easier!

Then you have another birthday and if you are fortunate to have the time - you think about all the people you've known over the years. For a person who's lived in 2 bedroom/2 bath home for 14 years raising two precious boys, a showcase home, a French house with solid glass windows on a French mountain overlooking the Mediterranean. That is a whole lot of change. We've known Princess Grace and her family through an employee at "the Castle." (Really, we have the photos to look at.) My mom worked with a Texas famous millionaire for 30 years. And surprisingly enough had an unknown teacher, who they tell me, went on to be famous.

So. If you put all these people together that I've met. From the wonderful little town where we loved and were loved, to the huge University I went to and the hometown where we are now with a gracious and loving Church family. If we took all these people - whom God knows them from their flaws to their virtues. And back again. And to the numbers of hairs on their head. What would they have in common?

We all want someone to genuinely care for us.

Romans 12:9
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.

This is what really calls us the the LORD. Abba. Father God.

1 John 4:19
We love because he first loved us.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Nehemiah 8:10
10 Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

2 Samuel 6:14a
And David danced before the LORD with all his might.

Luke 1:26 ~ And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren

Carl Heirich Bloch painted Mary and Elizabeth

Luke 1:26-38

In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin's name was Mary. 28 And he came to her and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!” [Blessed are you among women] 29 But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be. 30 And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

34 And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?”

35 And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy— the Son of God. 36 And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. 37 For nothing will be impossible with God.” 38 And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

The Talmud records of the Sanhedrin Council for the time of Jesus living - as the certainty concerning the things you have been taught- and are still available today. 2,000 years ago, this was big news in Israel and the religious government records still exist. (Jesus, the Shepherd and Bishop of our souls, 1 Peter 2:25.) Very few of Mary's family have been recorded. Her father was recorded in the Talmud records. If you will recall, Elizabeth and her mute priest husband Zechariah, decided not to reveal Elizabeth's pregnancy. Mary may have just found out about it from the angel.

When we pray and ask Father God for blessings, the way isn't strewn with roses and red carpeting. The hand of God is at work, and we have a vision, 2 angel visits, a mute priest who was formerly a barren priest, and more than likely - some stress all around. Mary's home with her mother and father are not recorded in Scriptures, but Mary comes to stay with Elizabeth for 3 months.

When life makes the path just wear down and feel out - God provides a way forward. A desired haven of His Love and Comfort. It is up to us today - to be grateful - for what He does provide. It is always our choice. We can be bitter or we can be blessed. There is a, of course, the saying fools rush in where angels fear to tread. In the joy of Mary and Elizabeth - surely Gabriel was pleased to be God's messenger. Gabriel brought the Good News, and today, it is very much still our Good News of Jesus Christ. Our Lord. King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Mark 9:14-29 ~ Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him

Mark 9:14-29

14 And when they came to the disciples, they saw a great crowd around them, and scribes arguing with them. 15 And immediately all the crowd, when they saw him, were greatly amazed and ran up to him and greeted him. 16 And he asked them, “What are you arguing about with them?” 17 And someone from the crowd answered him, “Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has a spirit that makes him mute. 18 And whenever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they were not able.”

19
And he answered them, “O faithless generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him to me.”
20 And they brought the boy to him. And when the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth. 21 And Jesus asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. 22 And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” 23 And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.” 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out [with tears] and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”

25
And when Jesus saw that a crowd came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”
26 And after crying out and convulsing him terribly, it came out, and the boy was like a corpse, so that most of them said, “He is dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose. 28 And when he had entered the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?” 29 And he said to them, “This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer.”[and fasting]

Jesus told us to be Salt and to act as the Light of God's Holy Spirit.

When we think of someone being salty, we think of someone being larger than life. Loud, exuberant. Auntie Mame, Popeye.

Then again when we think of Biblical salt, there is Lot's wife looking back and becoming a pillar of salt.... not a desirable state.

Salt and pop culture go hand and hand. Salt looses it's flavor when exposed to the air. It becomes stale, tasteless and isn't even good fertilizer or pesticide. What we become when we soak in pop culture without a discerning heart.

Salt wasn't unavailable at any time in Israel. Without salt, one could die in the desert of Judea without some travel planning and having some salt. Without salt, food is flavorless. No one would want to eat salt by itself. No one enjoys having religious talk, religious ideas crammed down their throat.

Let's look at Jesus asking the father of the boy ill with a demon, “How long has this been happening to him?” Recently, in another reading for Scripture for Today Blogspot, we talked about Jesus not being recorded as being a huge conversationalist. Yet Jesus is Love. Jesus is not looking for data. Jesus is not looking for a long debate with the boy's father. Jesus is making contact with this man. Jesus is not browbeating him, He is opening up the conversation. Jesus is hip deep in an emotional experience Himself, returning to the grind of all too human disciples - Jesus has just come from the Transfiguration. Jesus is taking time with someone looking to Him. Jesus is opening up the man's choices in his thoughts of God. Jesus is being Himself, there aren't any basketball moves where the hips have to be watched to understand where He is going. Jesus is getting to the point. Jesus teaches us to live at peace with one another in this whole passage.

One of the most touching verses is “I believe; help my unbelief!” In this cry, Jesus is there. It is not a perfect situation. Not the tidy, steam cleaned virtue we hope to see surrounding Jesus. Nothing is quite right, they are not saints, but Jesus is there.

Read the passage once more, Jesus is teaching us salt and light - to live at peace with one another. Jesus did not live in a peaceful world and His words were not always soothing. It is like Psalm 23, surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. Jesus forgave everyone from the cross; goodness and mercy was not always given to Jesus, but goodness and mercy were the Grace upon Grace He gave us.

Blessed be the children of God, Jesus. Help us to be Your creation of salt and Light. Protect us from the root of bitterness within us when goodness and mercy do not come our way in life. Let our words be seasoned with the salt of Your Healing and Your wisdom. We always ask for Your help. In the name of Jesus. The highest name of Jesus, Abba. Amen.

The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
