Romans 13:1-5

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. 
For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God's servant for your good.

But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience.

President Trump achieved NATO allies coughing up more money for our collective security. Allies now increased defense spending by $130 billion since 2016. And the White House reports almost twice as many allies are meeting their commitment to spend 2 percent of gross domestic product on defense today than before Trump arrived.

Trump's withdrawal from  Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty is delivering Russia, China and North Korea a strategic setback. The United States is now testing new, previously banned intermediate-range missiles.

Donald Trump's  "Maximum Pressure” campaign: Iran’s economy is contracting, inflation is spiraling and the regime has been forced to cut funding for its terrorist proxies, including Hezbollah and Hamas.

Donald Trump said increased tariff threats, so Mexico to cracked down on illegal immigration.

Unborn Americans are protected. Trump’s Protect Life Rule prohibits Title X family planning funds from going to any clinic that performs on-site abortions — Planned Parenthood announced this year that it is leaving the Title X program barring a court victory. This is a major pro-life victory.

2 Kings 22

1 Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jedidah the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath. 2 And he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord and walked in all the way of David his father, and he did not turn aside to the right or to the left.

3 In the eighteenth year of King Josiah, the king sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, son of Meshullam, the secretary, to the house of the Lord, saying, 4 “Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may count the money that has been brought into the house of the Lord, which the keepers of the threshold have collected from the people. 5 And let it be given into the hand of the workmen who have the oversight of the house of the Lord, and let them give it to the workmen who are at the house of the Lord, repairing the house 6 (that is, to the carpenters, and to the builders, and to the masons), and let them use it for buying timber and quarried stone to repair the house. 7 But no accounting shall be asked from them for the money that is delivered into their hand, for they deal honestly.”

8 And Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the secretary, “I have found the Book of the Law in the house of the Lord.” 

And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it. 9 And Shaphan the secretary came to the king, and reported to the king, “Your servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house and have delivered it into the hand of the workmen who have the oversight of the house of the Lord.”  

10 Then Shaphan the secretary told the king, “Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read it before the king.

11 When the king heard the words of the Book of the Law, he tore his clothes. 12 And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Micaiah, and Shaphan the secretary, and Asaiah the king's servant, saying, 13 “Go, inquire of the Lord for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that has been found. For great is the wrath of the Lord that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not obeyed the words of this book, to do according to all that is written concerning us.”

14 So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asaiah went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe (now she lived in Jerusalem in the Second Quarter), and they talked with her. 15 And she said to them, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: ‘Tell the man who sent you to me, 16 Thus says the Lord, Behold, I will bring disaster upon this place and upon its inhabitants, all the words of the book that the king of Judah has read. 17 Because they have forsaken me and have made offerings to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore my wrath will be kindled against this place, and it will not be quenched.  

18 But to the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the Lord, thus shall you say to him, Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Regarding the words that you have heard, 19 because your heart was penitent, and you humbled yourself before the Lord, when you heard how I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and you have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, declares the Lord. 20 Therefore, behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, and your eyes shall not see all the disaster that I will bring upon this place.’” 

And they brought back word to the king.

There is a journey we walk in our Spiritual life. 
The more we travel with the Lord, the more we learn. 

 Josiah wants the Temple of the Lord to be in good repair. He has done well for the Lord. Josiah is like the servant of the master with talents; Josiah has been trusted with much and more will be given to him. The Word of the Lord will be discovered.

Hilkiah, the high priest, discovers the Book of the Law, this is assumed to be the Book of Deuteronomy. Hilkiah has trusted the men repairing the Temple. The Lord honors men of integrity and honesty.

For so long the Lord has been placed behind a curtain in the Holy of Holies. Josiah hearing the truth is immediately convicted God is the Most High God and wants to honor Him. 

Josiah is honored by the Lord for being repentant.

There is another Scripture that relates to someone looking to honor the Temple of God with his trust, who received great physical and spiritual reward:

Acts 3:1-16

1 Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2 And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple that is called the Beautiful Gate to ask alms of those entering the temple. 3 Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms. 4 And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.” 5 And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them. 6 But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” 7 And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. 8 And leaping up he stood and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10 and recognized him as the one who sat at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, asking for alms. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. 

11 While he clung to Peter and John, all the people, utterly astounded, ran together to them in the portico called Solomon's. 12 And when Peter saw it he addressed the people: “Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or piety we have made him walk? 13 The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified his servant Jesus, whom you delivered over and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release him. 14 But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses. 16 And his name—by faith in his name—has made this man strong whom you see and know, and the faith that is through Jesus has given the man this perfect health in the presence of you all.

The man at the Beautiful Gate was placed at this entrance to the Temple because he expected to receive (alms) from God and God's people. Just as we go to Church to honor the Lord on Sunday. Instead of the usual blessing, the man encountered much more. Walking and leaping, his life forever changed, he praised God.

In the same way, Josiah and the people of God were blessed as they honored God.

 In the same way we are blessed with one touch of God's favor. When we look expecting to receive, when the favor of God is upon us....

Abba, 

 We ask You to strengthen us each day that we may walk in the plans You have for us.

Dwell in us.

Help us to see You First in our lives.

 All honor and glory to You, Father.

 In the highest name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name;

bring an offering, and come into His Courts!

Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness

Therefore, my beloved brothers,

Galatians 5:14
For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

Jesus gave the 11th Commandment.
John 13:34
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.


This Nation's purpose: Examine workings of the world, providing a Haven of Freedom. Correctly, man's heart is not governed to worship God. Fascism is adherence of one code without variations. Corrupt Power has always sought to influence adherence to blind obedience. Subtlety of subjugation is firmly required directing oppression in place.

Freedom of speech and religion, the right to bear arms is required for freedom. A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. Our question: Is this safe? Yes, the people are entrusted to be faithful.

Law and order are important. Just as there is separation needed between Church and state, we would be incorrect to assume each Law does not point to Love. If the Law doesn't point to Love, the Law, in itself, is merely power.

The Fed Chairman Powell speaks at the Economic Policy Symposium – 8/27/2020

Keep in mind the goal of a healthy economy is some healthy inflation.

The chair is nominated by the President of the United States from among the members of the Board of Governors, and serves a term of four years after being confirmed by the United States Senate. A chair may serve multiple consecutive terms, pending a new nomination and confirmation at the end of each. During the House of Representatives calling AG Barr to appear, he was strangely questioned and therefore prompted to remind the room his appointment is to the Presidential Cabinet. Perhaps it's a good idea to remind us all, the nature of  the position.

At minute 8, Chairman Powell says if we aren't clear, transparent, we are not governing or leading. I'd be remiss to allow the backsliding stories of Biden and Biden's apparent inability to remember his own policies. Also, the news stories with endless debate trying to muddle clear facts. Accusations taken up, muddied, and hurled back without logic.

Clearly, the goal of The Fed and Chairman Powell is accessing the truth. At minute 4, Chairman Powell begins assessing the economic history of the United States. Minute 11, Chairman Powell begins to access this record-breaking year.

To our Supreme Comfort, is our knowledge of our solid and amazing Economy. No one is even attempting to change that Amazing Fact for the last 3 Years.

Good news in minute 13.

At 22 minutes, The Fed will use all their tools to keep employment growing inclusive of all. Uniquely to this present difficulty, the Fed will monitor short term employment for Fed solutions to apply. All the Fed's extensive research has one goal of Maximum Employment, overcoming risks and providing Solutions. The Fed reports the atmosphere is challenging and has many known solutions.

Is God all that concerned with employment? The profound Purpose of The Exodus is God providing a way, truth and Life for His Children.

The Conclusion would move past all the padding and find the heart of optimism is triumphing over any fear.

We belong to The Woodlands United Methodist Church, the 4th Largest in the USA.

During Covid, Dr. Grant told of his elderly dad getting Pneumonia. His father always sang in the choir, doing what his father called, "Practicing for Heaven." The Doctors had to operate and found his father was going to live, because the Church Choir singing had given his elderly father very young lungs. Strong in the Lord God Almighty.

Consider God's Word, His Advice:

Ephesians 5

Be filled with the Spirit. 19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father 

for everything 

in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We were watching the skies in California, on up to Washington State and Colorado. And read about the snow falling on Colorado fires. Let's hum, today, this week and sing some encouragement for Good Weather Blessing on the West Coast on over to Colorado.

I Believe God will hear us. And Thank God for snow in Colorado on Wednesday.

He Reigns.

Our phones got good usage today. My mother, 87 years old, was admitted in Dallas with Pneumonia today. No fever. This happens with the elderly with weakened Immune Systems. My family spoke about the Mid August Spike of Covid in Dallas and the hospital requirement for Visitors. We remembered my mother over the years. Frankly, we are pretty worried about Hospitals and Pneumonia. Her full-time Caregiver, Edith, is with her today and spending the night. Please pray for Edith to continue to be well for her very lovely Christian care for my mother. Especially this week.


My mother has Alzheimer's and this is her second round of Pneumonia.

Alzheimer's is no picnic.
After our daughter Isabelle died in September 2008, my angry mother gave me Isabelle's baby book and books for a baby wrapped for Christmas of 2008. Shocking my family. We didn't know at the time she had been diagnosed. We were in Presbyterian Hospital 2009 or 10, for Mother's knee surgery, and the Rector of St. Michael's told us she had been acting so badly to him and her friend Charles. Charles, later that day, told us she had been diagnosed in 2007ish and taking medications for Alzheimer. This has affected mother to behave in ways of high unpleasantness with hair-raising cruelty. Shocking people. One of her long, decades friends called to say what had happened to her with mother's illness. Couldn't be my mother and is. Was, might be more appropriate a word.

We blame a lot of this on being the Martini generation.
Drinks with anti-depressants and sometimes a tranquilizer. 50 years of heavy smoking. The Bright Side would be - Mother has always loved the Lord and in her well years, did good works with tremendous fun my children have no memory of. This is the true tragedy. Her grandchildren have no memory of the Sparkling Woman I remember. Mother worked well for 31 years and loved her career. Apparently the Alzheimer's tore into deep affection and Mother worked well in her much loved career until 2013.

God is Merciful. I've seen this for 12 years.
My first cousin Maxine was my Ward in the State of Texas for 12 years. Maxine had had 23 strokes. I worked with her in the CC Young Memory Loss Building. We have seen a lot of Alzheimer there. Usually people live about a year or 2 in the Memory Building with Alzheimer. A few, like Ronald Reagan, live 20 years. Very few. God is Merciful.

I will join their prayers.
We pray God would either bring Mother back to the Sparkling Woman of her strong years or God would mercifully and with Great Empathy let Mother enjoy Heaven. I love the Catholics who pray this prayer with Great Strength.

Abba, our Father God,

Splendor and Majesty are before Him;
Strength and beauty are in His Sanctuary.

We pray to have the Holy Spirit Live and Dwell in us.
To be filled with Splendor, Majesty, Strength and Beauty and be His Sanctuary.

for Roger Staubach. Roger was concerned at one point with his brain injuries. Roger has led Dallas for many years in good works, particularly to the dying. He has resumed his stellar career and is a Light Shining to all of us who have lived the stresses of Brain illness in the family.

Declare His glory among the nations,

His marvelous works among all the peoples!

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised

God's Good Works should Shine. Brightly.

May God's Great Works and His Loving Word quiet and end the fires of California, Washington, Colorado. May His Mercy cover His People and the wildlife in the forests. Jesus Christ is the Exact Nature of God our Father. Speak Healing, Father God.
