Philippians 1:18-22 ~ my expectation and hope
Here is my opinion, you might agree with me, but I'd like to be bold and say my opinion. In the late 1980s, conspiracy theorists said the major networks were going to manipulate us because the news was owned by six extremely wealthy individuals or corporations.
Today, we are told from the same think tanks: rethink marriage, rethink Church reliance on Scriptures, rethink gender, pay more taxes to control the weather, agree with the people who want pollution landfill light bulbs, have no windows, have no borders, allow every warring group access to your community from warring communities across the globe, police are evil and defund them, the election process was correct last time as we watched the people thrown out, but now the old laws were wrong, and we need to take away states rights because the last election was so fair. Polls disagree, the populace thinks so. We need to pay more for cars and housing. Wealthy groups will own houses. We pay too much in rents. Health care can bankrupt you. We need to pay more for Health Care owned by the Government. And now... add more stress in.... these same groups proclaim Civilization is ending.
Now we can be all shook up.
I would disagree Civilization is ending. I'd say we are repeating humanity again.
The same snapshot history.
Romans had news propaganda and the story changed. Romans had rethinking marriage and Scripture and gender acceptance. Romans thought it was the end of the world in the first two centuries and were killed by weather oddities. Romans gave windows to the wealthy and running water. Heated floors. Romans wanted borders erased for more taxation and control. More trade, which all the upsets started to ruin. And the Divorce Marriage Laws heavily damaged Trade and reliable Family Jobs. Romans allows warring factions into the heart of the Empire to bring in more Trade Dollars. Factions of armies and police were owned by Political Persons. The Election Process was corrupt. New Laws for new culture. Agitated populace due to Political Changes. Two class economies due to changes. And Romans were very concerned the world was ending.
Welcome to the shaken lava lamp theories of Eschatology.
And add in another commonality.
Dignitas. Dignity. The Dignity of the human being. Jews had Dignity. Greeks had Dignity. Romans had one of the most imperial sense of personal dignity. People flocked to the Romans and Roman Empire to have more Dignity.
What did the Disciples and Jesus have to say to all this Human Dignity. The Ministry of Jesus is far different than the ministry of men. Jesus wants to save the world in His Salvation. And the Ministry of Jesus saw Jesus sail the Sea of Galilee to find His Beloved that day. Jesus walked to Jerusalem and back to Galilee.
What did Jesus have to say to all this fear, uncertainty covered in Human dignity in massive upheavals? Jesus was born as Augustus wanted marriage and taxes counted up. The Disciples were dealing with Claudius and his laws during The Acts of the Apostles. This isn't new to our Jesus. And His Living Word.
Was it a sin for me to lower myself in order to elevate you by preaching

About Me

- Scripture for Today Blogspot, by Anne-Laurel Gardere
- Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
