Matthew 28 ~ Greetings!

Matthew 28

Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.

2 And Behold:

there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.

3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.

4 And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men.

5 But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here, for He has risen, as He said. Come, see the place where He lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead, and behold, He is going before you to Galilee; there you will see Him. See, I have told you.”

8 So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell His disciples.

9 And Behold:

 Jesus met them and said,

“Greetings!”

And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him.

10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.”

11 While they were going, behold, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had taken place. 12 And when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers 13 and said, “Tell people, ‘His disciples came by night and stole Him away while we were asleep.’ 14 And if this comes to the governor's ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” 15 So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.

16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them.
17 And when they saw Him they worshiped Him, but some doubted.

18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in  the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

The Pew Report said The United States of America are very unusual. 80% of the USA prays daily and feels God Himself is listening with great care. This is found more often in the Philippines and Ethiopia. One of the most prosperous Nations of the entire world prays as if it is a small, distressed nation - Before the Pandemic.

Wouldn't we say this is surely a Sign and Wonder of the New Covenant Jesus has brought us since the First Easter. Jesus is Emmanuel - God with us.

Jesus is with us to the end of the age. God the Father is still working to say Scripture from 2 millenniums is alive. We understand, today, when Jesus took hold of the blind man in the hometown of Peter, Andrew and Philip, He touched the blind man twice. It is this generation who understands the repair of eyes and then brain.

Pontius Pilate was discovered in the last 30 years to be a Historical figure. Roman papers were found sending him to Judea. Two of his carved proclamations were found in Israel archaeology. Until this time, he was widely proclaimed to be a literary, fictitious character.

Goliath was a friendly story to tell the children during Sunday School of the mythological David. Now we have a pottery shard of Goliath dating to his time and in his hometown. David has been found on the Tele Dan Steele and the Temple has been proven as well. David's Palace was located by a two generations, Professor of History by reading the Scriptures and in David's Palace was Jeremiah 36, Baruch, son of Neriah, is found. As written.

We know the date of the Second Exodus in Babylon and we know this to be On the second day of the month of Adar [16 March] 597 B.C.

Because Emperor Nebuchadnezzar II recorded Jeremiah 39 as well and both agree

Nebo-Sarsekim

was there as well! We also know the rations the King of Israel was given.

And you might say, ok, History. Babylon also records the Flood in Genesis far before the Babylonian Exile and Israel's Second Exodus.

And here is one that just can't be written backwards, or sideways, to have proof. Jesus took His Disciples to Caesarea about 30 A.D.

Matthew 16

13 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”

14 And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

16 Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

17 And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Peter died about age 62 and was buried in the poor part of Rome. Almost 300 years later, Emperor Constantine issued the Edict of Milan in 313 A.D.. This proclamation legalized Christianity and allowed for freedom of worship throughout the Empire. And the Vatican was built upon Peter's tomb we found after 60 years study was done under the Altar of the Vatican.

It looks like this under the Vatican because dirt was thrown in to make a firm foundation on the cemetery hill:

This is Rome 300 A.D. The part of the city allowing foreigners to live in Rome. And foreigners are buried here.

The graves had decayed in 300 years, but the 62 year old muscular fisherman was found missing his feet from being removed from the cross. And his grave had been protected by years... by a Large Rock roof. The "Rock" upon Jesus' Church is built. Keeping the bones intact.

The area is filled in with 300 years of graffiti from pilgrims wanting to see where Peter was buried.  Rome's Mamertine Prison also records the arrival and death of both Peter and Paul. Scripture records instead their Abundant Life!

John 6: 1-21,35-40, 53-59 ~ walked with HIM

John 6

1-21,35-40, 53-59

6 After this Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee,
which is the Sea of Tiberias.

2 And a large crowd was following Him, because they saw the signs that He was doing on the sick. 3 Jesus went up on the mountain, and there He sat down with his disciples.

4 Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand.

5 Lifting up His Eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward Him

Jesus said to Philip,

“Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?”

6 He said this to test him,
for He Himself knew what He would do.

7 Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread would not be enough for each of them to get a little.” 8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to him, 9 “There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?”

10 Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.”

Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, about five thousand in number.

11 Jesus then took the loaves, and when He had given thanks, He distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted. 12 And when they had eaten their fill, He told his disciples,

“Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost.”

13 So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten. 14 When the people saw the sign that He had done, they said, “This is indeed the Prophet who is to come into the world!”

15 Perceiving then that they were about to come and take him by force to make Him King, Jesus withdrew again to the mountain by Himself.

16 When evening came, His disciples went down to the sea, 17 got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. 18 The sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing. 19 When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were frightened. 20

But He said to them,

“It is I; do not be afraid.”

21 Then they were glad to take Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.

35 Jesus said to them,

I am the Bread of life; whoever comes to Me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in Me shall never thirst. 36 But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. 37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and whoever comes to Me I will never cast out. 38 For I have come down from Heaven, not to do my own will but the Will of Him who sent me. 39 And this is the Will of Him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that He has given me, but raise it up on the last day. 40 For this is the Will of My Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in Him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

53 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His Blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever feeds on My Flesh and drinks My Blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.

55 For My Flesh is true food, and My Blood is true drink. 56 Whoever feeds on My Flesh and drinks My Blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57 As the Living Father sent Me, and I Live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on Me, he also will live because of Me. 58 This is the Bread that came down from Heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate, and died. Whoever feeds on This Bread will live forever.”

59 Jesus said these things in the synagogue, as He taught at Capernaum.

Luke 10:1-23

After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others
and sent them two by two
ahead of Him
to every town and place

60 When many of His disciples heard it, they said, “This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?”

61 But Jesus, knowing in Himself that His disciples were grumbling about this, said to them,

“Do you take offense at this? 62 Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where He was before? 63 It is the Spirit who gives Life; the flesh is no help at all. The Words that I have spoken to you are Spirit and Life. 64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray Him.)

65 And He said,

“This is why I told you
that no one can come to Me
unless it is granted him
by the Father.”

66 After this many of His disciples turned back
 and
no longer
walked with Him.

67 So Jesus said to the twelve,

“Do you want to go away as well?”

68 Simon Peter answered Him,

“Lord, to Whom shall we go?

You have the Words of Eternal Life,
69 and we have believed,
and have come to know,
that
You are the Holy One of God.”

Philip is in the Gospels 32 Times. Today, was a day of Jesus as Grace upon Grace. And yet, Philip is the one Jesus greets first.  The Plans of God are auspicious.

This is the day, many of the 72 disciples did not walk with Jesus. Philip believed and was counted in the number of believers. Important, Special and Chosen to The Lord.

About Me

My photo
Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
