John 17:11-24 ~ The Power of the Name of Jesus.

John 17:11-24

I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.

13 “I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. 14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.

15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.

19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.

20 “My prayer is not for them alone.

I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.

 May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.


Parenting

Josephus the Historian writes in Antiquities 18: Chapter 3
"And the tribe of Christians, so named from him, are not extinct at this day." Josephus is recording the unity of the Christians. Truly a Work of God in these circumstance.

Steadfast.


Luke 2

6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.

Still Considering Mother's Day.

Jesus would grow up with examples of Parenting. When we consider just the very few Written by Father God parts of Jesus growing up and doing ministry - we could find this prayer could be Mary praying for Jesus.

God could have chosen any woman to parent Jesus and God gave us a woman trying her best and not always making parenting look golden.

Of course, we could say again - wonderful we all make messes. Maybe really what God is saying is Trust Me. The mixed up muddled part of life - has a Plan.

The Plan is and was and will be our God's. Alleluia.

Father God,

The mystery explaining Your holiness is great. Jesus descended - our very God - came to live this life with truth and grace. And Jesus ascended higher than all the heavens. Jesus fills the whole universe. Ephesians 4 tells us.

Father God, You are that gentle and this vast - You fill the whole universe.

In Grace upon Grace, Jesus was fully human in every way,  that Jesus might make atonement for the sins of the people.

Therefore,
Let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. Fight the good fight of the faith.

Pursue righteousness, faith, love, perseverance 

Live in us Jesus. Let us Look for More Heaven on earth. Amen.

Luke 2:15-19 ~ pondering

Luke 2:15-19

15 When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” 

16 And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. 17 And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child.

18 And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them.

19 But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart.


Father God gives the work of mankind to believe. The most important aspect of Life to our Father God would be Salvation. And because mankind is so precious to Father God parenting is extremely important. Mother's Day Week is a great time to remember.

Father God creates all things. In the ten talents parable, the one pleasing to God believes in God's goodness and all attributes of God. All things work together to good for those who have decided to work for God and support His ideals. His purpose.

Clearly Mary is such a person. Gabriel who stands in the Presence of God explains. The Son of God is born. Shepherds explain the Kingdom of God Heavenly Host arrives. We will find the magnificence of God puzzles and overwhelms even Mary's sense of orderly every day logic.

Mary is found wanting to preserve Love, tangible Love... more than isolated explanations of unseen, yet glorious Purposes of God. Mary fails in parenting the Unique aspects of Jesus, being entangled in God given, genuine Love. God finds Mary's Mercy for Love - very forgivable and gives her a Hope and Future in her darkest hour.

The Gospels regarding Mary provide profound hope for puny mortals. God's Favor Shines on Mercy with Love and safety of Love - attempting to thwart God's Very Mission of Salvation for mankind.

Not something we would want to happen from our own actions. We can't help but feel supreme relief for the Mercy and understanding of our Father God.

Back to the opinions of the 10 Talents Child of God. This Child feels the risk of life failures will meet with Mercy from God.

Father God,

We pray the Large prayers of Jesus bless us prayers. The seeds of the young generation bloom and have the Holy Spirit rise up in them. the youth will have Your Power to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.

We pray into our Lives healing, the Life of Jesus and His goodness.

We want to see Your Great Deeds and Awesome Works in the land of the living. In these days may the righteous flourish, And abundance of peace flourish. Secure dwellings and in undisturbed resting places. The LORD is our king; He will save us. And the work of righteousness will be peace, And the service of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever.

Come Lord Jesus in the willingness of God to us each day to see Your Willingness and dwell there. Bringing more Heaven to our lives in our words and deeds. Bless our lives, our children, our children's children unto the generations carried to dwell in the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ.

Bless the fruit of our hands with Your goodness and mercy. Bless the farms and farmers in this unseasonable cold.  Our produce feeds the earth world wide. We ask Your help, Father God.

And all the people praying will Alleluia their Amen together in Jesus Christ!!!

Luke 3:22-38

The Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form, like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”

Mary saved Jesus protecting Jesus when He was pre-born. She saved Him like Hezekiah saved the Temple from being sold to the Assyrians - against parental hopes, wishes and aspirations. Mary was there for Jesus to stop His ministry and save His Life - as a Mother would.

Jesus wanted a new earth we find in Revelation 21 and His Mother's genealogy is listed. The only way genealogy is recorded. Jesus asked His Huge Crowd how the Messiah would be related to David and the Word of God records their delight.

As Christians we believe God is in charge of believers and non-believers. We believe the events of yesterday, today and tomorrow are in His Hand. Emperor Augustus was busy making marriage laws for taxes, which in effect weakened inheritance and would begin ending effective trade. The tax laws created unrest for a son to inherit even his father's trade.

Just as the basic core of the family was upended with divorce and temporary marriages in the Roman Empire, Jesus arrived and began to speak to women. Deacons were women.

The Word of God has honored the Mother of Jesus. Who did acts of God bravely. If sometimes more centered on Mercy than sacrifice.

Abba,

Blessed be Jesus and the Truth of the Word of God. Where people are flawed as people are. And the Mercy of God prevails.

God help me to be this good to the people You give me too. In Jesus we pray, covering all.


We will Thank God for Good Health. Thank You for Your Encouraging Word.


We pray what is harmful diminishes.


Jesus Christ is God Amen.

Psalm 91:5,6 ~ you will not fear

Psalm 91:5,6

5 You will not fear the terror of the night, or the arrow that flies by day, 6 the plague that stalks in darkness, or the calamity that destroys at noon.


Mothers serve. They do and in serving to raise their children, they give life. Life skills and Life stories to give wisdom to have Life. Life is given freely from Father God.

As we live long enough, we learn the valor of leaving this life and going to the next. This is the Most Important Lesson of All, Life.

When I married, my cousin Maxine was 70 years old. I had always really enjoyed Maxine. On my bedroom wall is Psalm 128 -  a framed blessing Maxine gave us to be blessed to see our grandchildren and love and Live. Quite a gift from Maxine who could not have children. She had misty eyes as she gave the Blessing.

This is a profoundly personal outlook on life today on this Post. The Nation has seen Alzheimer's deaths climb to double in a decade. And we wonder why. I've had 4 brave deaths in my life from unrelated brain injury and illness.

One is substance abuse, alcohol, from being the martini generation in a martini family. Brains die when pickled in alcohol and begin to make spaghetti reasoning instead of life giving solutions. 1 of 3 people are shown to be heavy drinkers.  For my father - it is crucial to face the pain life holds. Goodness comes from working to the solutions. Substance be it drinking, pills, drugs does not make for happiness in self or generations. The need is for discussion with the generations not to repeat behaviors.  God gives us work to believe life holds meaning even in pain and difficulty. For Substance Matters find AA or Celebration Recovery. What we leave as our Legacy is so important. Psalm 23 calls this the footprints we leave behind us for the others to know we walked well.

Blessings found in Finishing Strong.

My cousin Maxine is next. She had at least 25 strokes, two were severe.

I was her Legal Guardian for 12 years while she lived from age 82 to 94 in a Methodist Memory Loss Building in Dallas. I learned something important about brain function. The day Maxine entered CC Young, I was speaking with the Director of the Memory Loss Building and I wondered out loud how fiercely private Maxine would do with the loss of her personal freedom. Suddenly a hand was on my hand, I was assured Maxine would be fine - even relieved. I was so reassured and yet not.

 The Director of Memory Loss said Alzheimer patients suffer for 30 years many times covering up for brain function loss. Here in the care of open recognition - comfort is given. Maxine found comfort.

Edward has brain issues due to injury as a child playing outside. Similar to Football Dementia. Roger Staubach of the Dallas Cowboys said he was suffering this about 25 years ago. From all the concussions as he retired from being Quarterback. Some of the football players have not gone further down hill. Why is this? According to Dr. Frank Adams, retired Chief Medical Director of MD Anderson - making our brains do our will and not the will of the brain is very, very crucial to brain health.

Brain Health.
One of Edward's freak out points is parking lots. He has said this for 30 years. He gets ballistic and shrieks words that would generally fall into the 'ungracious' category. Do you know these words??? We might all have some experiences in this area. So. Dr. Frank Adams said to Edward. "Edward. Are you really listening? This is important for Your Life."

"Edward, how many times have you tried to restrain your anger in parking lots?" The answer was never. Dr. Frank Adam said, "To make your brain healthy, you have to decide how you will behave and make - not your emotions be still - but your behavior to be within good behavior." "Self Restraint to Good Behavior."

This is not only called Brain Health. This is called by Dr. Frank Adams, "Making New Pathways." "New Pathways in the Brain."

How do we know this is true? Frontal and Temporal Lobe Dementia is like Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde Behavior usually. The Divorce Rate is 92% before diagnosis is ever even considered a necessity. This is Football Dementia. Now is there real hope? Roger Staubach has recovered. Roger always did "Make a Wish Foundation." Roger was frequently seen in the Children Hospitals in Dallas and is a very Devote Roman Catholic. Roger knows Faith and Jesus. Roger knows polite.'

Memory games and Mathematics are tools as well.

The Way and the Truth and the Life of Brain Health.

Hear Oh Israel. The Lord Your God is One. Love the Lord Your God with all your mind, soul and heart.

We are not just tissue. We are not just bodies. We are not our minds which will perish and not go to Heaven. We are souls.

This portion of our Post does Not apply to all of Alzheimer's Disease. Repeat. Does not apply to all Portions of Alzheimer's.  God tells us to live our lives putting our paths as straight (forward) as we can. God gives us the Gift of Life to say let Love be Genuine.

M. Scott Peck wrote The Road Less Traveled: A New Psychology of Love, Traditional Values and Spiritual Growth and he wrote People of the Lie The Hope for Healing Human Evil.

When Love is not genuine. Motivations are for self, advancement, power, position and money. Paths are not straight. The Word of God calls this "selfish ambition." Darkness is a path called the ends certainly causes mean. Eventually choosing a path for only self - makes the brain loop.

When you have spent time in a Memory Loss Building, there are no more polite fronts. All filters are removed. And the situation causing the illness can be revealed. Some Alzheimer Patients are the nicest people you hope to meet. The next door neighbor is a dearly loved best friend for life. The PTA Meeting was adorable. The teachers are just darlings. The family are the ones who love me.

And for the people M. Scott Peck wrote about the Memory Loss Building has medications to prevent violent plots and behaviors. No more fake encouraements given. No lack of mercy rules. The Memory Loss Ward is a safe place. Because this is realistic.

When we live long, we discover - to teach Life is to teach to Rise. If we do not discuss what realities there are - how will we learn?

I've met people in their late 50's who will not enter a hospital to avoid learning about death and mortal illness. Won't go to a funeral - death might be contagious and avoiding death and dying might be the secret to everlasting life.

Discussing what brain health is is vital to make decisions to make LIFE.


Micah 6 - The Word of God can be direct. Forceful. Necessary. Just as a child is not encouraged to learn what the camp fire would feel like to touch. Being parented is a very evident reason Father God speaks plainly.

Good Brain Health.

He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?

The courage and valor of Jesus's Mother teaches us - the grit to remain, the Hope for Love to Prevail until this is the way and truth. Emotions like fear and discomfort were pushed aside and help is given always.

Where grit is not found, there is no hard won peace to live without real gratitude.

Ephesians 3 ~ the promise in Christ Jesus

Ah - best to add all this with anonymity: Gentile (sometimes the term describes outsiders), goat or zombie.

Ephesians 3

3 how the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly. 4 When you read this, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ, 5 which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit.

6 This mystery is
that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, 
members of the same body, 
and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.


God is so very interesting in His timing.
Jeremiah proclaims the New Covenant when his culture has completely rejected Father God. We are so blessed Father God responds:

Jeremiah 31:31-34

“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts.

And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 

And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”


The Amazing and Wonderous Grace of Father God.


This grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 
9 and to bring to light for everyone 
what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God, who created all things, 
10 so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. 1

1 This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, 
12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him. 
13 So I ask you not to lose heart

Jesus, just like Father God, knows all the prayers of all the parents.

4 For this reason, I bow my knees before the Father,
15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named

16 According to the riches of his glory
he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith

—that you, being rooted and grounded in love

18 may have strength to comprehend 
with all the saints
what is the breadth and length and height and depth,

19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge,
that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us

Luke 10:27 ~ your neighbor as yourself

Matthew 2:15
where he stayed until the death of Herod. This fulfilled what the Lord had spoken through the prophet: "Out of Egypt I called my Son."

Jesus, God's Son, the Exact Nature of God - has traveled far to explain God's Love.

Luke 10:27

27 And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”

Exodus 4:22
Then tell Pharaoh that this is what the LORD says: 'Israel is My firstborn son.'

Mark 10:45
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.

Isaiah 60:3
Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.

Matthew 28:19-20
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”



Mother's Day. Brave women arrived to protect their children. Moses was not the firstborn son of God, Moses was carried by water to be saved. Jesus is Living Water.

We are carried by Jesus to be saved.

In the similarities of the story, we find how far God has gone to explain to the generations and generations how He Loves us.

Jesus has fed not just the multitudes, Jesus has fed the millenniums. Jesus has fed us.

You are the Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

You make  me lie down in green pastures,

You lead me beside quiet waters,


Jesus refreshes my soul.

He guides me along the right paths

for His name’s sake.


Even though I walk through the darkest valley,

I will fear no evil, for You are with me;

Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.


You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.


Surely your goodness and love will follow me

all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.


Uplift those I Love and people that are given. Bless us to have Love and wisdom.
Watch over, lead and guide our Churches, Communities and Nations. We look in Expectation of Jesus. Amen.
