Romans 12:1
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
1 Corinthians 6:20
You were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
1 Corinthians 7:23
You were bought with a price; do not become bondservants of men.
Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
How many plan out to get out of a queue?
I will! I go out of my way and think how to get out of a line. Even a Restaurant line. When to go to the Grocery Store. Any government office. Plans are made.
And for many years, we Vote on the day. The lines are shorter.
One year, we were going to be out of town. It rained on us twice in the ferocious line. Edward went back to the car and got an umbrella. I believe I was miffy. But by the end of the line, we knew what the 15 in front of us and the 15 behind us were going to do to Vote.
There is an adventure in a Voting line. It's like a shell game.
Everyone wants to say their opinion, but they don't want ridicule. So, conversation is none. Conversation gives way to the less boring, comment on something nearby. This year it was Smash Donuts on the sign. Sometimes it's the number of people in a voting tent. Oddly this Midterm has full regalia of a Presidential Election. And eventually, the drift arrives to the overall line. And people are commenting on the line conversation on Social Media. Doesn't mean this is true and factual. But the line conversation is really more honest.
It's like a puzzle to watch the volunteers in the actual Voting areas. It's not so beige anymore. There will be a puzzle piece slide. And some can be quite in the chilly part. And really, all the flavors make the recipe worth watching.
This reminds me of the High School Youth Group student we knew for years, and really found endearing, who went off to rehab for having a talent for parties when the folks were out of town. Unfortunately, the new friends carried out anything with a gleam. He went to rehab, probably has memories he can spin on about today. And came back to youth group to say, he was going to share the glory of sobriety with his pals and no one was interested. Didn't even want to give up cigs. Very surprising. And downcast. And we all had to laugh. No one changes party affiliations, why would they give in to sobriety. And the story of changed lives is one of Miracles that happen DAILY.
Don't stay home. Vote. It is an Adventure.
I like my Voting Experiences. Like the time in 2016 an actual Bald Eagle was sitting in the tree being observed by the police, called to not let the voters near the tree. And a good time was had by all.
Vote. Memories are made.
