Mark 10:17-27
17 As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 18 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. 19 You know the commandments, ‘Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.’” 20 And he said to Him, “Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth up.” 21 Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22 But at these words he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property.
Don't you just hate it when there is no possible way to attain what Jesus said. And that Jesus. Always on a journey. Where is He when you need Him?
Jesus really did journey a lot. Three times they rowed and sailed across Galilee. In a day. Sixteen miles times three. Sheesh that Jesus. What a traveler. Om. Jesus really had someone to see. And you'd think, being God and all, that HE would say "Stan - well, I AM will see you on the east side at nine. Fred - east side ten o'clock. Sharp. And Hugo - you are on the west side so - well, babe, if I have to come to you, well, then, I have to. "
Jesus. What a traveler. First He's speaking to people, then praying, then "on the water." Then IN the water.
Jesus. If you can't ASPIRE TO HIS STANDARDS - He might just sit with you.
Or if you need healing, He might just draw you out of the large crowd and speak with you privately.
In Grief? He might go to your house and into the bed chamber.
Jesus traveled. A lot. And does today. The Word of God IS Living and Active.
That young fellow with good deeds? Jesus just journeyed on.
Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Jeremiah 17:10
“I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”
23 And Jesus, looking around, *said to His disciples, “How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!” 24 The disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus *answered again and *said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 26 They were even more astonished and said to Him, “[b]Then who can be saved?” 27 Looking at them, Jesus *said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”
