Psalm 119:1-24
Aleph
1 Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD.
2 Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart.
3 They do nothing wrong; they walk in his ways.
4 You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed.
5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees!
6 Then I would not be put to shame when I consider all your commands.
7 I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.
8 I will obey your decrees; do not utterly forsake me.
Beth
9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.
10 I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.
11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
12 Praise be to you, O LORD; teach me your decrees.
13 With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth.
14 I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches.
15 I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways.
16 I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.
Gimel
17 Do good to your servant, and I will live; I will obey your word.
18 Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.
19 I am a stranger on earth; do not hide your commands from me.
20 My soul is consumed with longing for your laws at all times.
21 You rebuke the arrogant, who are cursed and who stray from your commands.
22 Remove from me scorn and contempt, for I keep your statutes.
23 Though rulers sit together and slander me, your servant will meditate on your decrees.
24 Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors.
Psalm 119 is incredibly long.
And uses all of the Hebrew Alphabet.
The stairs were used as a tool used in teaching today - employing a clever teaching method!
Psalms are thoughts on the nature of God. His vast attributes and wonderful qualities.
Psalms are very useful in framing our own prayers.
With Psalm 119. we should recognize this is a prayer that is good - especially in times of stress.
The Hebrew Name for this Prayer Psalm is in Hebrew, known by its opening words, "Ashrei temimei derech" "Happy are those whose way is perfect." Obviously this would be God. And because God's ways are not our ways - Forgiven people are covered in the Righteousness of Jesus. Our prayers are heard, we receive comfort. We look to God and do not leave empty.
Hope - God favors me.
Faith - God says He does.
Love - All in the Universe - believing in me, guiding me, comforting me, strengthening me, sustaining me, blessing me. Allowing me to draw from Father God.
Love never fails.
God is the Light within us. Sustaining Him. We can hand over to God our cares and concerns, worries and He will take them. God says in Psalm 139 even what is dark - is Light to Him because He shines that brightly.
That is our Father God!
Father God, In Your Son is our breastplate of righteousness. In the name of Jesus we find a strong refuge. In Jesus Christ alone shall we rest. And in His name we hold up our loved ones. Amen in Jesus and His Good Will.

Jeremiah 9:24
Let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the LORD.
Romans 3
Galatians 3
20 Now a mediator is not for one party only; whereas God is only one. 21 Is the Law then contrary to the promises of God? May it never be! For if a law had been given which was able to impart life, then righteousness would indeed have been based on law. 22 But the Scripture has shut up everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
