Psalm 91
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refuge—
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
My mother has been in the Hospital for 8 days. She came down with Pneumonia and then Double Pneumonia while on broad spectrum IV Antibiotics. Today was the day the physicians and family all anticipated as her last day in this life.
A good friend told me to give her all my gratitude and tell her how she blessed my life. I've seen 7 people come to her bedside and pray and hold hope for more good years here. And really this went back to what she has put in our lives from 50 and 40 years ago. Always telling us God is love and love one another with kindness and mercy.
I took Hershey Bars to the Hospital and made them bite sized finger nail clipping sized and we remembered the many, many VBS events. The one in particular said God is like Chocolate. His Goodness is enduring. And as I thought about what Mother had blessed us with, that was the message. We celebrated God calling for love and goodness. I told my mother I blessed her with every blessing I had to give her in Jesus Christ. And asked for her blessing in return. Mother blessed me and my brother came right over to get the blessing too. That Dire Hospital room suddenly smiled.
Mother is no longer non-responsive. She is alive past her estimated departure date. And has resumed interest in food and eating. And, unfortunately, still on full tilt oxygen.
We will call to Father God:
Father God,
We call to You. There is trouble here. We want the salvation of a great quality of life for my mom. For Good health in Jesus for our family. We will hold fast to You, with Love. Bear us up, please.
Rescue us from life without good quality abilities. We honor Your Abilities. The Universe exists by Your Word alone.
To Jesus, in Him, You will do more than we know or can even imagine. Jesus the Lord. Knows the stars by name and is the Lord God Almighty of all the Heavenly Host.
Your Good Will for a Hope and Future. The Blessing of being Covered by Jesus. We are the Saints of God.
Amen.
