Would Jesus agree with Voltaire? Yes. John 14, 15, and 16. Jesus was highly efficient. And effective. John agrees with this in Revelation Chapter 1. Jesus is patient. Enduring. Responding as Father God would want us to reply. Light. Speak Life. Salt. Be genuine and authentic.
James 1:19-20
19 My beloved brothers, understand this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger, 20 for man’s anger does not bring about the righteousness that God desires.Many times anger is masking sadness. Or fear. What will we do with Jesus' advice to be Salt and Light. Desirable and friendly like a good potato chip. What about those cloudy days within? Stormy. We must be sincere. No path of God is about insincerity. Diligence to His Love, certainly.
We will not always have internal peace - to be grown to compassion.
I had to decide today on mood. Stresses of change. And God will help us actively if we ask. This is my second weekend alone as my husband plays A tier National Tournaments away. Staying affordably with pals. We have seen 9 automobile accidents in a few weeks. We had a Bald Eagle where we voted. Feeling the comfort of knowing God would take care of our Nation. The discomfort of anger in the conclusion. My mother had 8 situations to solve for me this week from her recovery and continued recovery is needed from Pneumonia. Stress of seeing how very, very active the Holy Spirit has been. In stress and in recovery work and in solutions. And in continual change in our family of four.
God leads us to feel uncomfortable. To tell Father God, I trust You in change. And in being overwhelmed. In the way God stretches me to go very new paths. Knowing God will hold us in the trials of life.
Father God teaches us we all have a task from God. I know God has let my eyes see salvation, I know the wicked fall. I know that my God is before me, even on cloudy days. I will be faithful were I am. I will be pleasing to God in the tasks He has for me. I will pray and hold on to my Father God, knowing how much more our Father holds us.
John 6:29
Jesus told them, "This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent."
What is God to us in His promises? Our fortress. Our mighty fortress. And we have to believe God even on days of clouds.
Consider Jeremiah and the similarities of Joel 1.
Joel 1
1 The word of the Lord that came to Joel son of Pethuel.
2 Hear this, you elders;
listen, all who live in the land.
Has anything like this ever happened in your days
or in the days of your ancestors?
3 Tell it to your children,
and let your children tell it to their children,
and their children to the next generation.
4 What the locust swarm has left
the great locusts have eaten;
what the great locusts have left
the young locusts have eaten;
what the young locusts have left
other locusts have eaten.
5 Wake up, you drunkards, and weep!
Wail, all you drinkers of wine;
wail because of the new wine,
for it has been snatched from your lips.
6 A nation has invaded my land,
a mighty army without number;
it has the teeth of a lion,
the fangs of a lioness.
7 It has laid waste my vines
and ruined my fig trees.
It has stripped off their bark
and thrown it away,
leaving their branches white.
8 Mourn like a virgin in sackcloth
grieving for the betrothed of her youth.
9 Grain offerings and drink offerings
are cut off from the house of the Lord.
The priests are in mourning,
those who minister before the Lord.
10 The fields are ruined,
the ground is dried up;
the grain is destroyed,
the new wine is dried up,
the olive oil fails.
11 Despair, you farmers,
wail, you vine growers;
grieve for the wheat and the barley,
because the harvest of the field is destroyed.
12 The vine is dried up
and the fig tree is withered;
the pomegranate, the palm and the apple tree—
all the trees of the field—are dried up.
Surely the people’s joy
is withered away.
13 Put on sackcloth, you priests, and mourn;
wail, you who minister before the altar.
Come, spend the night in sackcloth,
you who minister before my God;
for the grain offerings and drink offerings
are withheld from the house of your God.
14 Declare a holy fast;
call a sacred assembly.
Summon the elders
and all who live in the land
to the house of the Lord your God,
and cry out to the Lord.
15 Alas for that day!
For the day of the Lord is near;
it will come like destruction from the Almighty.
16 Has not the food been cut off
before our very eyes—
joy and gladness
from the house of our God?
17 The seeds are shriveled
beneath the clods.
The storehouses are in ruins,
the granaries have been broken down,
for the grain has dried up.
18 How the cattle moan!
The herds mill about
because they have no pasture;
even the flocks of sheep are suffering.
19 To you, Lord, I call,
for fire has devoured the pastures in the wilderness
and flames have burned up all the trees of the field.
20 Even the wild animals pant for you;
the streams of water have dried up
and fire has devoured the pastures in the wilderness.
Spiritual Battle. When you ask the people around you love Jesus most. When all of life shows all have fallen. When you feel overwhelmed. When emotions press you, internally away from Love, Peace, Joy, Encouragement, Trust, Faith, Hope. When you encounter unkindness and selfishness. When you want more of Jesus the Wonderful for the ones God has given you.
An Academy Winning Film ~"Mrs. Miniver" living through the events of Joel 1.
Resetting our lives, realizing our priorities. Being pleased not to be in Joel 1, presently.
Realizing some day we will all experience a vast change in life. Being able in Christ Jesus, to have our equilibrium. The loss of a beloved parent. A child. A spouse. The loss of health. The battle to regain health. Life changing events. Overcoming to realized we survived before, we will go forth. Or even just anticipating Going to Heaven, Going to be with Our Father.
What is one of the most repeated phrase in the Bible?
God encounters man and man can repeat this to difficulties of all shapes and people.
"Fear not."
"Do not Fear."
235 Times as God speaks.
This is exactly what Joshua was told in the balance of accomplishing the Will of God.
Jesus explained what we need to pull up our faith and lean completely on Jesus.
John 5
47 "But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?”
We will believe Jesus Is God. Honor His Words. And in drawing up the strength of Jesus - we will know Joy.
Spiritual battles are meant to grow us. And no human being will win a Spiritual Battle. We trust the Lord. And Jesus' Will for us is Good.
This is what Jesus would tell us of Spiritual Battles in Jesus:
1 Corinthians 3:7b-17
Only God who gives the growth. 8 He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. 9 For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.
10 According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. 11 For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— 13each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. 14 If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.
16 Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? 17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.
Titus 2:14
Jesus gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
When prayer allows the clouds to part, I have found Peace. Gratitude brings Joy and even Happiness. I see how I have found my way, thinking through the test of faith. Jesus guides me and leads me. And when this journey leads me to find, not stumble into, Peace and Comfort of God. I have found a good path. I am led by the One who says I will never leave nor forsake you. Jesus the Lord, is invited and dwells within me. And this process is for you. For all the saints who believe Jesus is Lord.
Our Abba,
Holy is Your Name. Your Will. Your Hope for us and Future. Your Kingdom - help us to know as we Pray, we come to the Throne of God Almighty. Welcome to Embrace our Father. We want to be Light and bring more of Heaven to earth.
What is this? The Joy of the Lord. Increasing awareness of the Goodness of God. Reliable Love. An invitation no one would want to marginalize. Placing Jesus as Joy within us all.
Lifting our Loved Ones. Our cares. The people we pray for. Lifting the good we do. Praying for health, asking Jesus. The children we love so, teaching us about our Father's Love. Praying for communities to bring more of God's Love forth. For Churches to be strengthened in the Will of God and His Love. For employment to be profitable, up-building. For our Nation to have God's help and blessing. And the communion of saints, asking Jesus His willing blessings pouring over us - strengthening each of us individually.
God of Truth. Telling us to be as we are, this is where You will find us. We are unable to reach the Creator of All Things. We rely upon You as Father. And this is Grace. Overwhelming Grace and Love.
Thank You, Father, for Wonderful Jesus. In Him. Amen.
