Consider the photo of the Sea of Galilee and the district of Dalmanutha. Before 1903 and the Wright Brothers, our grandparents probably would never have seen Dalmanutha, or the Sea of Galilee, from this height. It was unheard of. Israel had not been in existence for 2,000 years. (Jesus, of course, would have seen this view in the Ascension.)
And Jesus chose this area of beauty to be His adult home. Today, we see God knew of what He spoke 3,000 years ago, irrigation would make Israel a land of milk and honey. The hills are formed with deep, sudden valleys and can make Hurricane conditions with wind sheer on the Sea of Galilee, like the storm Jesus commanded to be stilled.
Mark 8:1-10
In those days, when again a great crowd had gathered, and they had nothing to eat, he called his disciples to him and said to them, 2 “I have compassion on the crowd, because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat. 3 And if I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way. And some of them have come from far away.”
4 And his disciples answered him, “How can one feed these people with bread here in this desolate place?”
5 And he asked them, “How many loaves do you have?”
They said, “Seven.”
6 And he directed the crowd to sit down on the ground. And he took the seven loaves, and having given thanks, he broke them and gave them to his disciples to set before the people; and they set them before the crowd. 7 And they had a few small fish. And having blessed them, he said that these also should be set before them.
8 And they ate and were satisfied. And they took up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full. 9 And there were about four thousand people. And he sent them away. 10 And immediately he got into the boat with his disciples and went to the district of Dalmanutha.
This is the way the disciples experienced, this viewpoint of life.
Jesus feeds the great crowd of 4,000. People say Jesus was the great communicator.
Yes and No. Jesus was not coaxing food from pockets to join the herd. Jesus fully explains they have nothing to eat. Like He knows names and situations, blind are seeing, deaf are now hearing. Jesus explains, something like this," I know future generations will try to say about rabbit in a hat, but no, I have told the Truth about how and why."
This truth is wonderful. Jesus takes time to say the conditions and the reason - with the miracle - this is mercy.
He says families are named and live on earth and in Heaven. Ephesians 3. Then they do. Jesus said so. Jesus said this is not made known to the sons of men in other generations, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.
Know the Scriptures, know the Power of God.
Our Abba,
To all who did receive Jesus, who believed in His name, Jesus gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
Jesus blesses us:
He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”
Then he took you, His beloved child, in His arms and placed His hands on your head and blessed you.
We love the Lord our Abba and Jesus. Thanks be unto God. Amen in Jesus, we are the Easter people and Alleluia is our Song.
