Luke 6:17-26
He went down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of his disciples was there and a great number of people from all over Judea, from Jerusalem, and from the coastal region around Tyre and Sidon, 18 who had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. Those troubled by impure spirits were cured, 19 and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all.20 Looking at his disciples, he said:
“Blessed are you who are poor,
for yours is the kingdom of God.
Blessed are you who hunger now,
for you will be satisfied.
Blessed are you who weep now,
for you will laugh.
Blessed are you when people hate you,
when they exclude you and insult you
and reject your name as evil,
because of the Son of Man.
23 “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets.
24“But woe to you who are rich,
for you have already received your comfort.
25 Woe to you who are well fed now,
for you will go hungry.
Woe to you who laugh now,
for you will mourn and weep.
Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you,
for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.
This post is chosen, before finding out the message. It is apt. My son is going to Law School across continent. My husband has a nuclear brain image showing his Frontal Lobe is in severe damage. And is fine with the move saying our son has moved forever. My husband is doing ok and played 3 locations of disc golf on Saturday. I am happy my husband is doing well, but sad for the lack of depth of emotion.
God's Peace rushes over me to keep enjoying today. Even the parts that were sad. Blessed to have God who Loves. Blessed to be His.
Take the culmination of our life
To God.
Then take you as you really are.
What you like that makes you the person you are
What could make you more of that Person to Him.
What you Love.
What you really are forgiven for.
What makes you worry and fret.
What you can do for those you Love
What makes them more of what You Love about them.
And makes something you say as you go to Jesus - I did this.
What is your best and real self
God gives us joy within us for our strength - for our hope and endurance and our compassion.
God allows us to place who we are before Him, be real, be forgiven. Have Gratitude
And do that with the discipline you have. What God will be with you to do. Thank God.
This passage is like God. Very real.
Father God,
We can look and find passages where Jeremiah complained. Paul died. And David was very sad. We can see Rehoboam mess up Heaven and bring life.
Noah got drunk. People get mad. They don't care what your life is - they want this to be tidy and without feelings of discomfort.. We mistakenly say God to act as if God was running for President.
Not creating Your Son in scandal and being born in a barn from a town were family dwelled. Not seeing brothers rarely got a long in the Bible.
Joel Olsteen said a lot of life feels like life passed you over. And these are the moments that we can actively seek to do pull ourselves up only in belief God is for us. Only God creates in us the goodness to Love and Go Forth in hard circumstance. God is for us.
The message of the Bible is to do our best. Base self worth upon God. God covers offenses not with cheap and easy grace but with Sheer Love and Compassion when we pour our earnestness to Him.
This is why we connect to You, Father God. God is told to be and is - God of Love. God of Encouragement. God of make a Way, Truth, Life in Jesus.
God covers us with His Righteousness.
Father God, I ask Your mercy on my family. For help in Your Mercy. And in sheer gratitude for this family who daily help one another. Thank You for Today. Thank You for what You give me. In Jesus - who is Good.
Thank You for going with us on the Journey and giving us Faith, Hope and Love. In Jesus Christ. God with us. Amen.
