We are told the Bible is Harsh. Old Fashioned. And the Bible conflicts Biblical Advice. Jesus said to know the Scriptures is to know the Power of God. We have to know the Scriptures to apply the Scriptures. The Bible deals with all types of situations and attitudes.
Suppose every day you dealt with the sadism of criminal behavior.
What would the Bible say about being provoked continually to prove you are human?
When John Adams was called to the English Court and the French Court, he saw ingratiating sycophantic, toadying, fawning, unctuous, obsequious playing for power with people determined to keep their court mired in little good works. To their own purpose. And in anger, John Adams dealt with people who dissimilated information with plain talk of needs met and goals achieved. Adams achieved more without the corruption other politicians took on for their lives.
If you deal with liars, telling them sweet encouragement is Not advisable.
If you deal with the mafia with Respect and Fear, the situation will get worse.
What if you are a criminal investigator?

What if your job was to defend criminals and try for their redemption?

Does the Bible Conflict - no, in learning God's Word we learn to find our answers by doing as Jesus said to know the Scriptures is to know the Power of God.
In saying no to the absolute "no's" of the world, we find God will bring us to His Path where steadfastness of goal and purpose is pleasing to God and fully explained in James 5.
