Micah 5:2
But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah,
who are too little to be among the clans of Judah,
from you shall come forth for me
one who is to be ruler in Israel,
whose coming forth is from of old,
from ancient days.
Jesus is the Light of the world.
Jesus is the Light of mankind.
Jesus is Living Water. We know what goes wherever water would go. Nourishing. Seeping. Soaking. Replenishing.
What can we say about Light?
When God understood Abraham had questions, God answered Abraham again.
They had lived doubts.
And Sarah called her son 'Laughter' because of the Joy in God's Plan. The first thing Sarah and Abraham do is have a huge feast. Now, this must be some feast - a huge feast because the herdsmen to guard Abraham's flocks, numbers 318 in Genesis 14. Abraham believed God was blessing him to become the Father of Nations God has spoken to Abraham.
What we see in this Light is -
Communication from God. Forgiveness. Laughter so great in the tender Mercy of God and Feasting for a man and his family - who believed Nations would arrive. Joy.
Similar to Jesus' Birth.
Matthew 2
Nations shall come to Your Brightness.
Genesis chapter 24
And Abraham was old, well stricken in age;
and the LORD had blessed Abraham
in all things
and the LORD had blessed Abraham
in all things
The earth was not thinking about the Messiah blessing all people pleasing to God - when Augustus called for a tax census from tribal hometowns.
Another aspect of Light - the Promises of God we would consider 'dusty' - God would call alive and well. Obscure Promises were alive in Jesus Christ. Bethlehem had probably forgotten God's Words. Father God had not Forgotten His Word.
Isaiah 9:2; Matthew 4:16; Acts 26:18; John 8:12
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light;
those who dwelt in a land of deep .
.. on them a light has dawned.
.. on them a light has dawned.
Jesus would live His ministry in a time of Great Stress for the Nation of Judea, we would call Israel
God had understood this.
Genesis 15
After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision:
“Do not be afraid, Abram.
I am your shield,
your very great reward."
God is Vast and Tender. Jesus teaches trusting God in adverse circumstance. To the Nations. To all people.
Luke 2
14 “Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”
From the Alpha of Genesis to the Omega of the fulfillment of God's Word.
John 3:17
God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but in order that the world might be saved
through him.
Mark 16
Believe those who saw him after he had risen. 15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.
16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick,
and they will recover.”
Jesus knew about believing in Him when the Light is not apparently shining.
Jesus is the Light of the world.
Abba, Our Father,
To see You more clearly, to Love You more dearly is Heaven on this earth.
Bless me, Father, I seek Your Love and Blessing. Bless those I love, Bless the people You have given me, Bless this Nation trusting in You. Bless the Nations drawn to Your Brightness. Bless the Children of God believing and Loving You.
Jesus Christ did not feed the thousands at the Sea of Galilee, Jesus Christ has fed the Millenniums, Living in Jesus Christ.
His Mercy Renews. You, our Father, are Alive and Working. God of the Living.
We say, "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, maker of Heaven and earth."
In Jesus Christ we pray always, Amen.
