Psalm 97
97 The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice;
let the many coastlands be glad!
2 Clouds and thick darkness are all around him;
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
3 Fire goes before him
and burns up his adversaries all around.
4 His lightnings light up the world;
the earth sees and trembles.
5 The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,
before the Lord of all the earth.
6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness,
and all the peoples see his glory.
7 All worshipers of images are put to shame,
who make their boast in worthless idols;
worship him, all you gods!
8 Zion hears and is glad,
and the daughters of Judah rejoice,
because of your judgments, O Lord.
9 For you, O Lord, are most high over all the earth;
you are exalted far above all gods.
10 O you who love the Lord, hate evil!
He preserves the lives of his saints;
he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
11 Light is sown for the righteous,
and joy for the upright in heart.
12 Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous,
and give thanks to his holy name!
The Words of God provide Joy.

There is a woman I know who had a very self-confident mother. And the mother was so busy with friends and things to do she longed for the time they had full-time help. When the woman learned of the Second Law of Thermodynamics (the universe is in decay to death and all things require constant work and attention) she decided her 4 year old daughter would be an excellent full-time maid. And she began to give orders. The child was obstinant and would not. She put her daughter for 3 days into her large closet and told her she better not try to come out. The child was in hysterics and had a fever so she put her to bed the first night without dinner. Telling the family, the child was ill. The third day the husband found out and found the closet had no hangars to clean up the closet. The child was rescued from the closet.
The mother being found out, began to leave the child in her room. The child, being resilient and taken to Church where a sermon was told about always asking for help and telling, began to tell every person the child could find. Eventually, the child told the right person and as the adult came into the house it was discovered the child was in her room, door closed as always, and the mother had gone out shopping. Something the mother loved to do. Life improved for the family. The woman who had discovered the child had many meetings with the family, treating the mother with respect for making a mistake.
Life was so much better, the subject was dismissed from the family discussions. The family got stronger, had more children and the time was lost as things dramatically healed.
And in college, the child, now a woman, was asked to write a journal every day for ten minutes. A subject would be assigned. One day it was asked, "What are children good for?" The woman was astonished to find she had written down that children were good to put into the closet. The memory that time lasted. And about ten years later, the woman was so angry with her child, she found herself dragging the child into the closet. The little child wailed, "No don't do this to me. Don't." The cry touched the mother's heart and she realized this was not the thing to do with what she had written in college. Her child was never treated in this manner.
Scripture can be obscure. Decisions in life can be difficult to find.
Journals - where we write with a timer for ten minutes only on one topic where the words must flow and the hand will not stop writing - help bring out all emotions and memories.
And this is only part one. After the journal has been written for ten minutes - then logical flowcharting helps us to see the other seats at the table.
The Scriptures will bring Joy. But like the Transfiguration, work has to be done to climb the mountain.
Reading the Scriptures every day tell us the joys and hardships in life. Like a treadmill, the incline is beneficial. We live in this world where God is High and Lord of all the earth and know events happen to create us to be the wonderful and unique people God our Father calls us to be. In all Seasons of our lives.
Abba, Father God,
Your ways are straightforward. Your Blessing Endures.
Joy to those who Love You.
Bless those we Love. The Beloved of God ask, plan and give more Heaven on earth.
Covered in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
