Luke 18:1
And He told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray
and not lose heart.
Edward and I went out and had dinner. Just about everyone had removed their mask. And really this was a time in coming. How wonderfully good to breathe and look at all the people again!
Like the world news, here in Houston's 4th largest city, a Church friend from a decade past, went on a car trip to visit her grandchild, she returned home by car 10 hours and 700 miles later to die of Covid at age 80. Last Friday, 15 days ago.
The news we all have, personally, and in the media we call news, is hopeful and tempered with Pandemic brains. Facts can find danger or change. Swinging news. Tempered news. Opinion news. Jesus Christ calls Himself: the Way, the Truth and the Life.
We do this for ourselves every day. We have 'the comment' or we feel blue, then we look to support our emotion. Feeling elated and hopeful, we look for support to continue to feel encouraged. The weather is even a source for our changes and the variation from normal in the soaked South USA. Where I might add, drought was the long range forecast, usually accurate.
We are in a transitional period. People discuss a new normal. Change is normal, but worries looking at the weather are not the usual. We have been through a stay at home Pandemic. I was observing a swim party on my street and another gathering too. Not what we have seen for the last set of two years. And as the swim party was ending, the party goers looked more stressed than relaxed. More somber. The party face had been removed.
Historically, Pandemics take about 3 years before we find human beings being more rational.
We know this intellectually. The comments and the somber faces are a reflection of our own thoughts. The future events show promise and then the dire warnings. You can't be in a fairly severe car accident without being more cautious.
The Gospels have similar Chapters, and yet there are dissimilarities. Because if you've been in trauma, the people remember bits and pieces of dramatic events. This is well known to people who gather facts after a dramatic set of emotional circumstances. Like police or investigators.
The Disciple John was asked in the Second Century if he approved of the other Gospels. John said he absolutely did. Remember John's 21st Chapter says if all the events surrounding Jesus were published, the world couldn't hold the books. And yet, the Gospels have different versions of similar days. It's all factual, but in gathering the Upper Room for the New Covenant, some were sent ahead. The Disciples went in different physical directions. And even at the Last Supper, no one except God saw all the Disciples having conversations.
The news is emotional. We don't hope for emotional news, but the times would say we all have emotions. And as the Sam's store clerk told me, from the Holy Spirit, the day I won't forget, "Remember, every day, God is giving you what you require, it's up to us to see His Blessings." My son elbowed me, and said, "See."
The Light of the world is Jesus.
Nothing in darkness is dark to Him.
Jesus brings us Light.
Abba, Father God,
There was a man asking his friend, at midnight, for help for the traveling friend. Journey.
And his friend declined for the late hour. Impudently, the two friends had Discussion at the midnight hour. The friends, in relationship, had the steadfast Love to hammer out the needed events.
Jesus tells us He knows we think You are sometimes a Judge who doesn't move mountains. And then we feel You are not the Judge we hope You'd be. Jesus says He acknowledges this in our relationship with You. Jesus says always Pray and have Hope. Pray about everything.
The Gates of Heaven are always open. The Keys Peter was given, that, has to give us pause to realize You help us in the Life You have given us. Numbers 6 has the Blessing Moses was told to give God's Children. God Lifts His Countenance Upon us. Graciously. God Smiles. God's face shines upon us. You, God, according to Proverbs 8, Delights in us. The New Testament calls us Beloved of God.
Father,
Please dwell in us.
Help us to seek You First.
Fill the Ones we Love with Jesus Christ.
Light of the world.
Light of mankind.
See us Pray for Israel.
Pray for our Nation,
Our Blessings and our Concerns.
Help us know, again, Your Heart for us.
Knowing Your Steadfast Love.
And with Your Love
we will do as You say, Overcome.
Blessed be the Name Jesus
and Blessed be the Father, Our Father,
Giving us Jesus, Your Exact Nature.
We won't forget to lift up Elliott and his healing to Your
Love and Word. Thank You, Elliott is doing better. Mend him totally, please.
In Jesus Christ,
Alleluia, Mercy is Given
Amen and Amen!
