Discomfort
and
Comfort - 2020, 2021 years have seen more internet traffic
reading the Scriptures than ever before.
The Largest Read Verse is from Isaiah 41:10
Isaiah 41:1-10
Listen to me in silence, O coastlands;
Let the peoples renew their strength;
let them approach,
then let them speak;
let us together draw near
for trial, decision, judgement, settlement.
2 Who stirred up one from the east
whom victory meets at every step?
He gives up nations before him,
so that he tramples kings underfoot;
he makes them like dust with his sword,
like driven stubble with his bow.
3 He pursues them and passes on safely,
by paths his feet have not trod.
4 Who has performed and done this,
calling the generations from the beginning?
I, the Lord,
the first,
and with the last;
I am he.
5 The coastlands have seen and are afraid;
the ends of the earth tremble;
they have drawn near and come.
Everyone helps his neighbor
and says to his brother, “Be strong!”
7 The craftsman strengthens the goldsmith,
and he who smooths with the hammer him who strikes the anvil,
saying of the soldering, “It is good”;
and they strengthen it with nails so that it cannot be moved.
8 But you, Israel, my servant,
Jacob,
whom I have chosen,
the offspring of Abraham,
My friend;
you
whom I took from the ends of the earth,
and called from its farthest corners,
saying to you,
“You are my servant,
I have chosen
you
and not cast you off”
Fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you,
I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
When my son was born prematurely, he would stop breathing. Cal had an Apnea monitor for a year. Sometimes 3 or 4 times a day or night, we would get up and gently shake him, and fragile, perfect, beautiful Cal would breathe again. I was so tremendously pleased Cal wasn't telepathy gifted. I was afraid for a year and a half and this lasted, only, a year. When my husband started his new career, we were sincerely and rightfully afraid for money and I prayed on my stomach for a year. The praying renewed my courage. Standing up Stronger. I know about being a lava lamp shaken and waiting upon the Lord. Waiting to become tired of being afraid, concerned, worried, whatever word suits your experience.
On Sunday, we missed Church. As preparations began, our neighborhood texting went wild. 4 shots were heard within the subdivision at 4:20 in the morning. Police arrived. 4 casings of 9 mm bullets were found fired in the street from a car letting a pedestrian out. 9 mm is serious. Lethal for a mile. A neighborhood 2 miles away had the same number of shots fired, a woman screamed loudly. During this same time period. Our neighborhood keeps texting and emails.
We live in a very secure neighborhood. Almost Always. Until. In 2007, we had a pedestrian gang of car burglars and vandals dropped in our area. Terrorizing 3 to 20 subdivisions. We kept emailing and texting everyone we knew and the gang was caught one subdivision over by a homeowner who has night shifts. License plate and done. Police were thrilled. We had shopping home invasions. I heard today a burglar with the MO the Christmas Burglar, is serving 8 years. 2018. A domestic worker was stealing and the police were called and that domestic worker was led out in handcuffs due to neighborhood emails.
The last incident of crime in our 21 years here, was a house on one of our corner's was for sale. Another neighbor had just installed a very sophisticated camera alarm system that Friday. It showed 2 men in their 40s casing out a lot of houses on their street by peering into windows. Finally they picked the corner house with the for sale sign. Bashing in a window, they quickly scooped up a laptop. To be greeted by the surprised home owner. And just as quickly they were diving out of the broken glass window they had entered. Laptop was recovered and working. The alarmed up neighbor prays quite a bit. I'm putting down the squashing of crime as Prayer Answered. A completely acceptable ratio of squashed crime!
Good News for Prayer and Reading the Scriptures. Always.
According to the 2021 Most Read Scripture Passage of our heavily increased desire to read the Scriptures, Alleluia. Our prayer lives, our souls to Jesus recognize our prayers, concerns, souls,
our hearts to Jesus saying this:
Silence, has put us on the edge, the coast, of many thoughts.
We renew, we strengthen.
Our prayers, our hearts to the Lord,
To Jesus, we approach
we speak
and draw near
times of trials and decision.
The east... conflict
Victory...
Nations!
Trampled, dust, stubble.
Past by
in places, we haven't even traveled.
Generations?
The beginning?
Our LORD
Be First
Be Last
We Call to Thee.
The ends of the earth tremble.
Italy has sung like the times past.
India. Japan.
Ventilators, Vaccinations, Oxygen.
Our coasts.
Children. Forsaken.
As the Great Depression Children.
We build life again.
They have drawn near and come.
Everyone helps his neighbor
and says to his brother, “Be strong!”
Strengthen,
Smooth,
Hammer,
Find it is 'good.'
Do not move from what is good.
Do not move from what is good.
We are Israel.
Oh, Israel.
Flawed, fighting the Angel, fighting.
Jacob hold tight to the Blessings.
You have chosen, Lord
Hold tight to our Blessings.
Hold tight to us.
Adopted to be the Children of God.
Children of Abraham.
This hunger for Scripture
All who did receive Him,
All who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God—
All children born not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man,
Born of God.
My friend
You
I
ends of the earth

Chosen by God

Fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you,
I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Abba, Father,
Thank You, You dwell in me.
What is too large,
too broken,
what is hopeful and healing
what requires our kind prayers,
All Things are under the Feet of Jesus Christ
He has the whole world in His Hands
and Heart.
What is impossible with mankind
is You
saving the world
in
Jesus Christ.
Amen and Amen and Amen and Amen and Amen.
