Luke 2:15-20 ~ The Lord has told us about

 

Luke 2:15-20

The shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the Baby, who was lying in the manger. 

17 When they had seen Him, 

they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this Child, 18 and 

all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 

19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 

20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Genesis 29

 3 And when all the flocks were gathered there, 

the shepherds would roll the stone from the mouth of the well 

and water the sheep, 

and put the stone back in its place over the mouth of the well.

Genesis 46:32

And the men are shepherds, for they have been keepers of livestock, and they have brought their flocks and their herds 

and all that they have. 

Genesis 47

“What is your occupation?” 

And they said to Pharaoh, 

“Your servants are shepherds, as our fathers were.”

Genesis 48:15

And he blessed Joseph and said, 

“The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, 

the God who has been my shepherd

 all my life long 

to this day”

Ezekiel 37:24

My servant David shall be king over them, 

and they shall all have one shepherd. 

They shall walk in my rules and be careful to obey my statutes.

Micah 5:4

And he shall stand 

and shepherd his flock

 in the strength of the Lord, 

in the majesty of the Name of the Lord his God.

 And they shall dwell secure, 

for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth.

Genesis 49

Yet his bow remained unmoved;

    his arms were made agile

by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob

    (from there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel),

25 by the God of your father who will help you,

    by the Almighty who will bless you

    with blessings of heaven above,

blessings of the deep that crouches beneath,

    blessings of the breasts and of the womb.

Psalm 122

As was decreed for Israel,

    to give thanks to the name of the Lord.

5 There thrones for judgment were set,

    the thrones of the house of David.

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!

    “May they be secure who love you!

7 Peace be within your walls

    and security within your towers!”

8 For my brothers and companions' sake

    I will say, “Peace be within you!”

9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,

    I will seek your good.

Jeremiah 3:15

And I will give you shepherds

 after my own heart, 

who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Micah 7:14

Shepherd your people with your staff, 

the flock of your inheritance, 

who dwell alone in a forest in the midst of a garden land; 

let them graze in Bashan and Gilead 

as in the days of old.

Zephaniah 2:6

And you, O seacoast, 

shall be pastures, 

with meadows for shepherds and folds for flocks.

Ezekiel 34:12

As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep 

that have been scattered, 

so will I seek out my sheep, 

and 

I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered 

on a day of clouds and thick darkness.

Jeremiah 23:4

I will set shepherds over them who will care for them,

 and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, 

neither shall any be missing, 

declares the Lord.

Ezekiel 34:15

I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, 

and I myself will make them lie down, 

declares the Lord God.

Genesis 29:9

While he was still speaking with them, 

Rachel came with her father's sheep, 

for she was a shepherdess.

Romans 16

I commend to you our sister Phoebe, 

a servant of the church at Cenchreae, 

2 that you may welcome her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints, 

and help her in whatever she may need from you,

 for she has been a patron of many and of myself as well.

17 When they had seen Him, 

they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this Child, 18 and 

all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 

Hebrews 13

20 Now may the God of peace 

who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus,

 the great Shepherd of the sheep, 

by the blood of the eternal covenant,

equip you with everything good 

that you may do His will, 

working in us 

that which is pleasing in His sight, 

through Jesus Christ,

 to whom be glory forever and ever.

Abba, Father,

You are Merciful and Loving.

We Bless You for our Blessings. Thanking You for the Love God brings us.

Your Mercies renew daily.

Blessed be the Lord God - who covers us with His Son - Jesus.

We pray for the Fires of injustice to stop.
