Hebrews 11:7

By faith Noah, being warned by God 
concerning events as yet unseen, 

in reverent fear 

constructed an ark for the saving of his household. 

By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

January tends to us by increasing desire towards interesting fun, by providing huge chores and then rest. As January progresses, we will relentlessly be pulled to work hard on being prepared.

And isn't this the current January 2026? 

We have seen, today, worldwide French News, Le Monde, comment on the worldwide known lying, fake news of America.  Americans have been lied to so often, it's known to the world. 

And isn't this the current January 2026? 

Skirmishes that the violent portray sweeping the Nation.

Except, the important news worldwide headlines have ignored the drama. Just another spin in America with little relevance.

And isn't this the current January 2026? 

And then, KKK laws will be applied to the Minnesota Baptist Church hijacked by people screaming divisive race, religion and monetary screams. Wearing all black. Led by a Lawyer, knowing the laws, taking federal grant money that now will be labeled as fraud money for this Sunday craziness to actual Satanic crazy hate. 

FACE Act laws will be applied to the fired national news anchor screaming for something and completely judgmental with racism, religion and hate.  Famous news anchor for asking us to hate anyone conservative and repeating sexist remarks until fired.  Saying these Christians are Haters. 

It is circular. And completely crazy.

And we are prepared. 

We have seen police harm a man to death. We have seen a woman drive into a federal officer, hospitalized, with internal bleeding and the weaponized car's driver said to be a canonized saint. By a bishop spouting against white privilege from an entirely white congregation 99%. And the Archbishop of Canterbury was fired for protecting a priest and a church employed layman from confronting sexual abuse. To select the next Archbishop of Canterbury, who has already publicly confessed to the same crime.  And has displayed the cathedral as graffiti filled. 

And we are prepared. 

We have seen circular logic do crazy things like call accounting and discover fraud as an action Nazis do. 

REST

Matthew 11:28 

Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, 

and I will give you rest.

The problem is most of us resting, are tired of the rut of entertainment. REALLY.  We are tired being fed the same ol smut.  

When I worked in Pro Life, our clients routinely said they were bored and looking at the TV and movies for direction to lead into becoming more bored and now lonely.

Our great grandparents had to sing if they wanted music.  To know the tune, the notes, the lyrics and the rhythm.  And life was very quiet. The calm. The stillness. When people could smock, sew, can, garden vegetables, and have few luxuries to accomplish tasks.  No telephone, if you wanted a conversation, you might have to travel by foot or load up a horse and carriage.  Church was going to get you out of the house.

1 Corinthians 16:13 

 

Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, 

be strong.

Psalm 4:8 

 

In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

The Balance is

what we

need

and in

faith

we find this.

Matthew 6:33

Seek first the Kingdom of God 

and 

His Righteousness, 

and 

all these things will be added to you.

This January, I am grateful. Being given chores to come as the Joy of Celebration. Chores to make life go along pleasantly. Given rest. Getting bored. Having the need to prepare for the coming winter storm. 

Not as grateful for losing a family member and having the funeral, the memorial in the Church and going through the belongings of one departed after 40 years.  We did this last Thanksgiving in 2024 as well.  And a double funeral for my mother and cousin the same week in 2021. This part of rest, and recovery, is not enjoyable. 

But the Lord has blessed us in the journey, and we have had offers to join former neighbors in West Texas to come and live. We will stay in our family home! In stores, people have assisted us to find the items we need. Kindness from Starbucks and special, heartwarming treatment over the loss of a parent.  Casual conversations with earnest and good people.  And expecting our first grandchild.  The Lord gives us preparedness, chores, rest, boredom and Blessings.  Please keep our family in your prayers in this season. 

The Candles are a peaceful addition, but we pray for Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi to keep the power grid on during the winter storms. 

Abba, Father!
