Psalm 76 ~ God arose

Nimrod Tablet from 733 BC with enlarged inset.

In Judah God is known;his name is great in Israel.

Psalm 76

In Judah God is known;
his name is great in Israel.
2 His abode has been established in Salem,
his dwelling place in Zion.

3 There he broke the flashing arrows,
the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war.
Selah

4 Glorious are you, more majestic
than the mountains full of prey.
5 The stouthearted were stripped of their spoil;
they sank into sleep;
all the men of war
were unable to use their hands.
6 At your rebuke, O God of Jacob,
both rider and horse lay stunned.

7 But you, you are to be feared!
Who can stand before you
when once your anger is roused?
8 From the heavens you uttered judgment;
the earth feared and was still,
9 when God arose to establish judgment,
to save all the humble of the earth.
Selah

10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise you;
the remnant of wrath you will put on like a belt.

11 Make your vows to the Lord your God and perform them;
let all around him bring gifts
to him who is to be feared,
12 who cuts off the spirit of princes,
who is to be feared by the kings of the earth.

Israel is debated to have existed and then the Tel Dan Steele was found, explaining the House of David existed and was part of the Nation of Israel. 1,000 BC.

Could History show the Bible correctly tells of Israel becoming split and Judah is now part of the region. Yes. King Ahaz (written in the inscription as Jeho-ahaz, his longer name) of Judah, as translated by the University of Pennsylvania's RINAP project (The Royal Inscriptions of the Neo-Assyrian Period.) 733 BC.

Nimrud (/nɪmˈruːd/; Arabic: النمرود‎) is an ancient Assyrian city located 30 kilometres (20 mi) south of the city of Mosul, and 5 kilometres (3 mi) south of the village of Selamiyah (Arabic: السلامية‎), in the Nineveh plains in Upper Mesopotamia. It was a major Assyrian city between approximately 1350 BC and 610 BC.

The Nimrud Tablet K.3751, Present location British Museum, also known as Kalhu Palace Summary Inscription 7 is an inscription on a clay tablet c.733 BC from the reign of Tiglath-Pileser III (745 to 727 BC), discovered by George Smith in 1873 in Nimrud. The tablet covers the first 17 years of Tiglath-Pileser III's reign.  Nimrud K3751 contains the first known archaeological reference to Judah (Yaudaya or KUR.ia-ú-da-a-a).

In Judah God is known; His name is great in Israel.

God Himself, put forth a plan telling David of an everlasting throne to display the Trust God has placed in David and honors David. Creating God's Plan of Righteousness. And David wasn't told Solomon would have 700 wives, 3 children with only one son. Solomon's son would find behavior to split Israel in half. His grandson would restore the two halves and the nation would slit again. Using the nation's name as Judah is saying, we move with the events God has brought us.

Then saying Israel is acknowledging God, as Lord of All, has a Plan for reconciliation of events to His Plan.

Psalm 76 is a lot like this 2020 year.

Who can stand before God?

In the New Covenant of Life in Jesus we find

Revelation 3:20
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with them, and they with me.

The people who fix their gaze on Jesus Christ.

Acts 1:11
"Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."

Luke 1:19
“I am Gabriel,” replied the angel. “I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.

Galatians 5:1
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

1 Corinthians 15:1
Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand.

Luke 6:8
Jesus knew what they were thinking and said to the man with the shriveled hand, "Get up and stand in front of everyone." So he got up and stood there.

This Year 2020 explains fear.

The stouthearted were stripped of their spoil;
they sank into sleep;
all the men of war
were unable to use their hands.
6 At your rebuke, O God of Jacob,
both rider and horse lay stunned.

7 But you, you are to be feared!
Who can stand before you
when once your anger is roused?
8 From the heavens you uttered judgment;
the earth feared and was still

Below: a quiet July, 2020 in Venice has Venice rethinking what will be done with closing Hotels.

Micah 6:8
He has shown all you people what is good. And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly
and to love
mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

Innovations. New ideas. Venice was already thinking about changes to remove vast Cruises.

to save all the humble of the earth.
Selah
10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise you;
the remnant of wrath you will put on like a belt.

11 Make your vows to the Lord your God and perform them;
let all around him bring gifts
to him who is to be feared

We are seeing recovery.
Not a sullen recovery.
Recovery considering all possible Virus outcomes.
Vows to the Lord to sustain families. Sustain Life. People are performing within Judah as Israel. Determined to move to Life and protect ourselves, others and our families.

A recovery not throwing life to the wild winds, but a considered, God pleasing to sustain life recovery.

It's possible, as home builders are not slacking in building outside the cities, as cars are bought to avoid crowded bodies into mass transit - it's possible to think of new mass transit and different schedules. In the far North, trains ferry many things. Perhaps we will see trains ferry cars.

And maybe with so many considering home offices, we will find all areas of the nation and world open up to new far-flung communities.

Little Town in Wyoming.

The Scriptures are real.
This passage considers fear and siege. Consider another passage with horses, fear and siege.

2 Kings 23:11 about King Josiah and destroying idols of the status quo
10 He also desecrated Topheth in the Valley of Ben-hinnom so that no one could sacrifice his son or daughter in the fire to Molech. 11 And he removed from the entrance to the house of the LORD the horses that the kings of Judah had dedicated to the sun. They were in the court near the chamber of an official named Nathan-melech. And Josiah burned up the chariots of the sun. 12 He pulled down the altars that the kings of Judah had set up on the roof near the upper chamber of Ahaz, and the altars that Manasseh had set up in the two courtyards of the house of the LORD. The king pulverized them there and threw their dust into the Kidron Valley.

Nathan-melech - this is Nathan-melech's seal.

JERUSALEM — The Israeli archaeologist Yuval Gadot is not a mushy guy. But in October, when he pulled a 2,600-year-old seal impression out of the ground in the Givati Parking Lot excavation in the City of David, he was “very emotional.”

The clay bulla, which dates to the middle of the seventh or beginning of the sixth century B.C., judging by the style of writing on it and the pottery found next to it. It reads: “l’Natan-Melech Eved haMelech,” or “to Natan-Melech, the king’s servant.” Natan-Melech is a name that appears only once in the Bible, in the Second Book of Kings.

1 Peter 2:16
Live as people who are free,
not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil,
but living as servants of God.

John 15:15
No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

Psalm 135 ~ For the Lord has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his own possession.

Psalm 135

Praise the Lord!
Praise the name of the Lord,
give praise, O servants of the Lord,
2 who stand in the house of the Lord,
in the courts of the house of our God!
3 Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;
sing to his name, for it is pleasant!
4 For the Lord has chosen Jacob for himself,
Israel as his own possession.

5 For I know that the Lord is great,
and that our Lord is above all gods.
6 Whatever the Lord pleases, he does,
in heaven and on earth,
in the seas and all deeps.
7 He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth,
who makes lightnings for the rain
and brings forth the wind from his storehouses.

8 He it was who struck down the firstborn of Egypt,
both of man and of beast;
9 who in your midst, O Egypt,
sent signs and wonders
against Pharaoh and all his servants;
10 who struck down many nations
and killed mighty kings,
11 Sihon, king of the Amorites,
and Og, king of Bashan,
and all the kingdoms of Canaan,
12 and gave their land as a heritage,
a heritage to his people Israel.

13 Your name, O Lord, endures forever,
your renown, O Lord, throughout all ages.
14 For the Lord will vindicate his people
and have compassion on his servants.

15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
the work of human hands.
16 They have mouths, but do not speak;
they have eyes, but do not see;
17 they have ears, but do not hear,
nor is there any breath in their mouths.
18 Those who make them become like them,
so do all who trust in them.

19 O house of Israel, bless the Lord!
O house of Aaron, bless the Lord!
20 O house of Levi, bless the Lord!
You who fear the Lord, bless the Lord!
21 Blessed be the Lord from Zion,
he who dwells in Jerusalem!
Praise the Lord!

Today, I heard of Bishop Sam Hulsey's passing.

Job 38:7

While the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy

Bishop Sam was a friend of our family and was a joyous part of celebrations and present and timely help when my father-in-law was eulogized - 2005 -pictured that very day fishing the shining water of Heaven. Bishop Sam sent me a 3 page hand-written note when our Infant Daughter Isabelle went to be with the Lord on the day she was born in 2008.

2011,When Edward's cousin Andrew married Sarah, Bishop Sam picked out the most beautiful Scripture. I was astonished and will always remember their wedding in the blazing and beautiful Sunset of Texas as Bishop Sam read God's Word.

Job 27

All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils; My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit. Till I die I will not put away mine integrity from me. My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.

Job 38

“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell me, if you have understanding.
5 Who determined its measurements—surely you know!
Or who stretched the line upon it?
6 On what were its bases sunk,
or who laid its cornerstone,
7 when the morning stars sang together
and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

8 “Or who shut in the sea with doors
when it burst out from the womb,
9 when I made clouds its garment
and thick darkness its swaddling band,
10 and prescribed limits for it
and set bars and doors,
11 and said, ‘Thus far shall you come, and no farther

Psalm 19

The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
2 Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.
3 There is no speech, nor are there words,
whose voice is not heard.
4 Their voice goes out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.
In them he has set a tent for the sun,
5 which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber,
and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy.
6 Its rising is from the end of the heavens,
and its circuit to the end of them,
and there is nothing hidden from its heat.

7 The law of the Lord is perfect,
reviving the soul;
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple;
8 the precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes;
9 the fear of the Lord is clean,
enduring forever;
the rules of the Lord are true,
and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold,
even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey
and drippings of the honeycomb.

This beautiful part of Eternal Life would not nearly as enjoyable to tell without giving part of his life.

https://episcopaldiocesefortworth.org/bishop-sam-b-hulsey-february-14-1932-august-6-2020/

“Speaking personally, Sam was more than a bishop. He was a mentor, a spiritual director, a coach, a pastor, and an advocate. He was one of those rare people whose guidance and decisions changed the course of people’s lives — certainly mine included.
And that puts me in a very large club.”

I asked Bishop Sam the day of the wedding, we both wept at the Words of God a little, why so many parts of the Bible have beauty and then anger. The shortened version of his answer was: "Jesus arrives in our hearts and takes the wrath of God away. And the Words remaining tell of our Salvation, what we did not face in God in condemnation."

I repeated, "God's Face."

Bishop Sam replied, "The Lord lifts His countenance upon me. And you." Bishop Sam's wisdom, as he held both my hands, continued, saying, we all face anger in people around us and the Triumph is from God. And then Bishop Sam was very matter-of-fact-about-people. And we smiled.

His longtime executive secretary, Carolyn Hearn, wrote,
‘Bishop Sam B. Hulsey (not Samuel, as I needed to instruct people regularly) was first and foremost a southern gentleman. He loved good hearts, good friends, good cars, good food, good books, good movies (he never missed the Academy Awards), good soaps, beautiful homes and lawns, beautiful clothes, well behaved children and good manners. He loved knowing about you and your family. He not only remembered almost everyone, he also remembered their dogs. And he loved his dogs.

“Bishop Hulsey was a delightful, perplexing and sometimes frustrating, loving and complex man who got more out of a day than anyone I’ve ever known. He thrived on the comings and goings, travel, liturgy, persons and personalities in the worldwide church and across the street. When he sent his updated burial instructions to the office after he moved to Fort Worth, he noted that he wished his ashes to be scattered in two places.

 I sent him a note that I got a chuckle out of that because it was so like him to want to be in two places at once. He didn’t think it was funny.” she wrote.

Bishop Sam could stand in a public place and share stories with you about adult children going to college. He was always a Breath of the Holy Spirit. Profoundly interesting and kind.

God has gifted me with someone I will love to see again in Heaven.

Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.

2 Corinthians 6:13
As a fair exchange, I ask you as my children: Open wide your hearts also.

Exodus 40:16-38 ~ the Lord was on the tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel throughout all their journeys.

Tabernacle Frame

Exodus 40:16-38

16 This Moses did; according to all that the Lord commanded him, so he did. 17 In the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, the tabernacle was erected. 18 Moses erected the tabernacle. He laid its bases, and set up its frames, and put in its poles, and raised up its pillars.

19 And he spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent over it, as the Lord had commanded Moses. 20 He took the testimony and put it into the ark, and put the poles on the ark and set the mercy seat above on the ark. 21 And he brought the ark into the tabernacle and set up the veil of the screen, and screened the ark of the testimony, as the Lord had commanded Moses. 22 He put the table in the tent of meeting, on the north side of the tabernacle, outside the veil, 23 and arranged the bread on it before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

24 He put the lampstand in the tent of meeting, opposite the table on the south side of the tabernacle, 25 and set up the lamps before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses. 26 He put the golden altar in the tent of meeting before the veil, 27 and burned fragrant incense on it, as the Lord had commanded Moses. 28 He put in place the screen for the door of the tabernacle. 29 And he set the altar of burnt offering at the entrance of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and offered on it the burnt offering and the grain offering, as the Lord had commanded Moses. 30 He set the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it for washing, 31 with which Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet. 32 When they went into the tent of meeting, and when they approached the altar, they washed, as the Lord commanded Moses. 33 And he erected the court around the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the screen of the gate of the court. So Moses finished the work.

34 Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. 35 And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. 36 Throughout all their journeys, whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out. 37 But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out till the day that it was taken up. 38 For the cloud of the Lord was on the tabernacle by day,
and fire was in it by night,
in the sight of all the house of Israel
throughout all their journeys.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

About Me

My photo
Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
