Friends,
On November 11, 1947, Winston Churchill said the following famous words: “Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed, it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time…”
Democracy is messy. And I imagine that all of us are weary of this election – the incessant campaigning and advertisements. Most of all we are tired of the vitriol in the media. And we feel troubled by the way partisan politics have pulled us apart as a people. However, let’s not lose sight of our sacred privilege to select our own government. Still, most people in this world do not enjoy this right to vote in a fair election.
Thomas Jefferson once observed, “We do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate.”
Let’s thank God for our privilege to participate. Let’s cast our votes. Then let’s come together and put this quadrennial squabble behind us.
Let’s not allow our political views to separate us from loving one another. I am proud to be an American, and I know you are as well.

Jacob believed Blessings should be shared and multiply, multiply, instead of hoarded. Twelve Sons would be Blessed and just as Jesus healed the deaf man gently, privately to have complete healing in the understanding; In the same manner, Jacob explained the very personal blessing. Some Blessings diligently worked past what some would call unsurmountable odds. Jacob, who had become Israel, didn't gloss over all the hardships, but didn't mention others. His life allowed Grace upon Grace.
Scriptures never record Jacob, then Israel, receiving apology from his 12 sons.
Israel lived shaking off the dust off this problem and journeying past. God let the journey take the sons to the Land of Goshen. Jacob/Israel did what he could do for his sons. Jacob is recorded finding his Joy. In doing this, Jacob created a Hope and Future for his family.
Jesus records Life is Joy.
We blend together as we hold things together for each other genuinely. This morning, I set out with someone I enjoy on a car trip to get coffee. As we arrived, we found my entire handbag was not in the car. For many years great upheaval would have been given. Stress. Yelling. The whole genuine article. No one would have been left in peace.
Somehow, as I left all the people and dogs at the coffee shop, to go home, I felt like this would turn out well. And prayed. Calm enough to pray with certainty. The Tile showed my friend was right, the purse had been carried for me - I had wet fingernails - and was not at my home address. The Tile showed this was on the route we traveled. I arrived home to find an unknown vehicle in the driveway and no one manning the car. Distressing. Only briefly.
A mother and daughter, I didn't know at all, had seen the handbag (* My Grandmother Anita's word for this) sitting on the car roof and then, later, found the purse on the road. They had gone to my home, found neighbors and were leaving my purse with neighbors. All my things intact. Joy is Complete. Life is Good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This young girl and her mother had stopped their day for 30 minutes and went places they didn't know to return my purse intact. They rang doorbells to return the purse. I even had an apology for having to look in my wallet to find my address. I was so very, very, very Thrilled.
Rolling Goodness and Blessings.
The Good we give to others multiplies.
Wow. Goodness does multiply.
Double and Triple and Life Time Blessings.
I prayed for the Mother and Daughter to have all God's Blessings as I drove back to the coffee shop to have the coffee we ordered before I drove home. I was returning very, very, very Happily.
The Calm and the prayer I felt on the journey home to find if my purse was intact or even surviving - was still with me. Grace of God. Goodness of God. His Gift to me.
And as I got to the Coffee shop, I turned right from a fairly busy street into a usually crowded shopping center further back from the street, Especially crowded on Saturday about a block away. And what I was calm for, slow enough for, deliberate enough - blessed to be - was coming to a full Stop - Suddenly. Avoiding the teen girl oblivious to the danger of stepping out on the crosswalk from behind trees. She was shaking her headphones and phone in rhythm with her song on the phone. In obscure clothing, she had no clue what she'd done was step into a blind spot. Barely a glance sideways, for her and the danger of a possible pile up for stopping to save a life.
The Mother and Daughter I told had made my day - had made Made MADE my Day.
And this goodness - I'm just not going to forget.

Conflict, Anxiety and a Meaningful Life. Dealing with Conflict.
On the days I don't feel all composed - I can wait to feel the Mercies of God renew. I realized about 3 days ago, His mercies renewed about 4:30 p.m. I had to laugh a little. God's timing is His own. And His timing is exact. God is an interesting and essential part of our thoughts, our eventuality and the changes we meet in life.
It's written.
God has written in the Scriptures in several places God has the absolute power of Peace. When you read Daniel 1 - Daniel had help to be placed favorably where God wanted him - you know this is true. Solomon was very to the point about the hand of Blessing and the Hand of Woe are the same thing.
Depends on your day and season in life. One more example of Living Word of God.
When we sit down to watch a movie or read a book, we find conflict and we find solutions.
James Bond is not the place to find Solutions.
1. The women do not continue. The women are phased out.
2. Someone is going to get killed.
3. In real life dating - there is heart break and not everyone bounces well.
4. People really do this and end up very confused.
Real people think this is reality in life and dating. Making a very unhappy life.
Why would we turn to Scriptures when so much of Scripture is anger and war and conflict?
I mean, the Old Testament is so violent. We have this in the New Testament too - John the Baptist - was killed. Stephen - was killed. The Disciples were - killed. Why do we go there? This is a very, very good question - my nephew was asking me this.
And the likelihood of Catholic sainthood seems to have tuberculous as part of an early entrance into Heaven.
So - why do this?
We live in Conflict.
Well you see, we all get along. Like Paul and John Mark. Like Jews and Gentiles. Like Rome and Passover. In fact, Paul tells us when he goes to the Dispersion Temples - some preach out of rivalry. Paul gets along so well - he is lowered by a basket to escape execution. What is the point of all of this? Anger is in the Bible over 400 times. We deal with this all our lives. And Politics? Anger. And internal conflict and desire to have one up? Anger.
People who avoid Church and the Bible - they want to know this and not offend you - but - Why all this?
Why the Hand of Woe in the Bible? What draws us to Conflict?
Matthew 11:12 From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it.
Finding Meaning.
Having Meaningful Lives.
We are taking our lives and we are asking - what is the real meaning here?
Even the times and years it seems evil is chasing.
If I give you 'my opinion', you would probably have your own opinion.
Our view of life is our age in years. Limited. When women are afraid of giving birth - they realize most women have more than one child. When we want an Enduring and Eternal Opinion - God's Word.
Today Fox News reported:
79% of Evangelical Christians will Vote for President Donald Trump. This is up 16% from 2016.
And additionally, Americans see two realities. One part wants Safety, avoid Terrorism. One part is focused on Covid Virus and Health Care. This Poll was so divided - the poll says equality is only placed with the group seeking Health Care.
Why are Polls so uninformative? People rarely just answer their phones. And why would you tell
an anonymous voice on the phone?
Jesus lived a lot of the Joy of His Life on the Sea of Galilee. Why would Jesus pick this place. 1. Jesus loved the beauty of God's earth.
What's in it for us. Real Jesus.
Being part of the Eternal where we will all go.
Making sense of the puzzle of life.
Hope. Love. Joy. Peace.
Goodness. The Hope of Goodness paving our Path.
Overcome the Storms and Perils of Life.
Be inspired to be part of Community. To endure hard times and enjoy Community of the Body of Christ. To Contribute. To gain in understanding. To appreciate our voice and the voice of the saved in Jesus.
To take old challenges, new challenges, changing challenges and perpetual challenges and have Love and Joy.
To value ourselves as being Delightful to God as we are. To Rise.
To realize every Word of God has the power to help us in dark times. To understand why David cried out against evil.
To be able to forgive. The Blessing of Forgiveness. What is this? And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town. We
do not have to sit and stew. To not enjoy Life. To realize Abundant Life moves us in His Grace.
Hebrews 11 11 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the people of old received their commendation. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.

We can deal more readily with life being like shifting shadows.

Because the Bible is living Word of God, we can approach the Gospels, the Psalms, the New Testament and find comfort in times of need. Keep reading the Word of God has vast comfort. The ability to reach in to you. The Old Testament is just a study of the generations we see today.
