Jeremiah prophetically worried about the Children of God brushing their Histories to their own likes. Revising History.
Jeremiah 16:14-15
14 Yet behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when they will no longer say, ‘As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites up out of the land of Egypt.’
15 Instead they will say, ‘As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites up out of the land of the north and all the other lands to which He had banished them.’ For I will return them to their land that I gave to their forefathers.
Jeremiah 23:7-8a
7So behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when they will no longer say, ‘As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites up out of the land of Egypt.’
8 Instead they will say, ‘As surely as the LORD lives, who brought and led the descendants
of the house of Israel up out of the land of the north and all the other
lands to which He had banished them.’
The Lord wrote, "Forsake Anger. Forsake wrath." Be Angry do not sin.
God wrote not to encourage the unwise. But He didn't say to let the angry serpents eat you. He said be wary as serpents and be innocent as doves.
Moses wrote to the Children of Israel and told them not to become proud and look down upon God's Graciousness.
Dear Children of God, Beloved,
Deuteronomy 8
“The whole commandment that I command you today you shall be careful to do, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land that the Lord swore to give to your fathers. 2 And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. 3 And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that
man does not live by bread alone,
but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
4 Your clothing did not wear out on you and your foot did not swell these forty years. 5 Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the Lord your God disciplines you. 6 So you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and by fearing him. 7 For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing out in the valleys and hills, 8 a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey, 9 a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing, a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper. 10 And you shall eat and be full, and you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land he has given you.
11 “Take care lest you forget the Lord your God by not keeping his commandments and his rules and his statutes, which I command you today, 12 lest, when you have eaten and are full and have built good houses and live in them, 13 and when your herds and flocks multiply and your silver and gold is multiplied and all that you have is multiplied, 14 then your heart be lifted up, and you forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, 15 who led you through the great and terrifying wilderness, with its fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground where there was no water, who brought you water out of the flinty rock, 16 who fed you in the wilderness with manna that your fathers did not know, that he might humble you and test you, to do you good in the end. 17 Beware lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’ 18 You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day. 19 And if you forget the Lord your God and go after other gods and serve them and worship them, I solemnly warn you today that you shall surely perish. 20 Like the nations that the Lord makes to perish before you, so shall you perish, because you would not obey the voice of the Lord your God.
With Love and Encouragement,
Father God
A. A. Milne. What was he doing?
Was he writing Children to say in small lives, great imagining made kind hearts?
Was Dr. Seuss saying see the greater beauty in an exotic world of unimaginable sights?
China Zhangye Danxia Landform Geological Park of China. Rainbow Mountains.
Where Seuss and AA Milne the same? Hopeless bigot, racists telling us to despise the exotic and wild aspects of the great earth. Perhaps A.A. Milne hated the travels of the explorers of the Silk Road.
Maybe A.A. Milne despised David Livingston, who aspired to have trade and missionary work in Africa. Perhaps A.A. Milne was making fun of Pharaoh Amenhotep for ever having a son we call King Tut. Maybe it was a Racist slur he didn't use the whole word, "Tutankhamen."
What about J. M. Barrie?
Rumors fly around "Peter Pan." He was too childlike. Then again, people say to write what you love. And isn't Peter Pan a comfort to the parents of young children who died before antibiotics. Your children, are in Adventures. Isaiah 46 tells us young Children are carried on the shoulders of kings and queens to learn the paths and Highways of Heaven. And if the parents should have many more children and forget the Children surrendered to Heaven. Then God Himself will Love and hold them in the Palm of His Hand.
If we are going to despise Dr. Seuss???
This is verging on Illiteracy. Ignorance. Shaming that is Idiocy.
This is way too much name-calling and guessing and Anger.
If you walked into an Asian home, someone who had paintings of their Chinese Ancestry. What would this look like. Their family portraits????
And if we went into the Ancestral close-ups...
This IS in fact, the wild and exotic world Dr. Seuss imagined us teaching our children, God's Good Creation is, "Good."
Haul out your Cancel Culture. Forsake Cancel Culture.
We are ripping down the Statues of the Kings of Hawaii. Damn them. Kings? Here in the United States. Rip 'em Down. Nasty Racists. Imagine having Kings. Look how awful that nasty King looked. Horrid.
How terrible the Kings could even wear those other clothes.
It's a good thing those nasty Racists Dr. Seuss and A.A. Milne didn't write about, "Those Hawaiians".
This is un-be-lievable.
Unbelievable. As if Dr. Seuss couldn't glamorize the exotic of the world and find Beauty. Incredible.
The first Hot Air Balloon seriously Historically recorded was 1783 Versailles.
And colored Lithographs encouraged the world to think of air flight.
Oh!
What about if Dr. Seuss has written about Native Americans?
What if Dr. Seuss had drawn Native Americans looking like This???
If Dr. Seuss had drawn every picture just exactly like this:
THEN DR. SEUSS WOULDN'T have been such a bigot, racist, nasty old thing.
(Is it Ok to say, "Thing?" Or is that too, too far into step on a crack, break into shaming using the word "Racist"?)(Maybe we shouldn't say: Ok, ok, Okay, okay - it is pretty political after all....)
We all know if you don't want to be Racist. You should have drawn all the people looking like this. We should always and only look like this. If Dr. Seuss wanted to be ok. Seuss should have drawn like this..
At all times we need to look like this?
We would have really known Dr. Seuss was really, really, really, really a racist if he had drawn people to look like this. Merciful Heavens forbid.
Can you imagine the outrage of Dr. Seuss drawing Racist Animals. Oh no. Wow Racist Animals. The unimaginable horror.
Is you is, is you ain't Racist.
Sacre Bleu racist. RACIST. Racist. racist. Rabid. racist Racist RAcist. RaCiSt. Racist.
Racism. Le racism. La racist. Le recismistic. Longe racisme opportunistice. Le shaming le igno racismisticque ra see ism opportunitsticy.
Anger, anger, anger, anger.
Do we really want to banish Children books?
Do we really want shaming?
Do we really want to be the people with this type of anger?
Do we really want to ferret out
hidden meanings?
Or take Jesus Christ
The Way, the Truth and The Life.
Should all the Easter Eggs look alike?

Abba, Father God,
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.
Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.
The rich man in his castle,
The poor man at his gate,
He made them, high or lowly,
And ordered their estate.
The purple headed mountains,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky.
The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.
The tall trees in the greenwood,
The meadows where we play,
The rushes by the water,
To gather every day.
He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

Because
2020 and 2021
involved a lot of parental deaths. (My Mom
is in Hospice.) We really don't need tender

trampled on by insensitive, public shaming of
Childhood authors of the 1930s,
Egad and Jesus Fishes. Please. Amen.
