John 1:1-18 ~ Light of all mankind

 

John 1:1-18

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.


9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, 

full of grace and truth.

16 Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. 

17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

Isaiah 61 

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.

They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.

4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.

5 Strangers will shepherd your flocks;
foreigners will work your fields and vineyards.
6 And you will be called priests of the Lord,
you will be named ministers of our God.
You will feed on the wealth of nations,
and in their riches you will boast.

7 Instead of your shame
you will receive a double portion,
and instead of disgrace
you will rejoice in your inheritance.
And so you will inherit a double portion in your land,
and everlasting joy will be yours.

8 “For I, the Lord, love justice;
I hate robbery and wrongdoing.
In my faithfulness I will reward my people
and make an everlasting covenant with them.
9 Their descendants will be known among the nations
and their offspring among the peoples.
All who see them will acknowledge
that they are a people the Lord has blessed.”

10 I delight greatly in the Lord;
my soul rejoices in my God.

For He has clothed me with garments of salvation
and arrayed me in a robe of His righteousness

as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
11 For as the soil makes the sprout come up
and a garden causes seeds to grow,

so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness
and praise spring up before all nations.

John 20:29
Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; 
blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Abba, Father God,

Dwell in us,

Help us to be Delight to You, Father God. 

Dwell in those we Love.

Help us to seek You first.

Pour out Your Spirit upon us to make more

Heaven on earth with expectant Prayer.

So many things are different after the Pandemic

And we ask Your Joy and Strength in us

and Your Gracious Favor on Your Good Creation.

We pray life upon Elliott.

Rejoice with Dennis and Lynn in their recovery.

Luke 20:34-40 ~ Jesus said

 

Luke 20:34-40

And Jesus said to them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, 35 but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and to the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage, 36 for they cannot die anymore, because they are equal to angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. 

37 But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed, in the passage about the bush, where he calls the Lord the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. 38 Now he is not God of the dead, but of the living, for all live to him.” 39 Then some of the scribes answered, “Teacher, you have spoken well.” 40 For they no longer dared to ask him any question.

 Jesus said bring Heaven to earth. And be a tree where the birds of the forest can dwell among the branches and in this striving - we all have one Angel  - 

Matthew 18:10 

Abba, Father,

Dwell in us and those we love.

Help us immensely to be enjoyable to You.

We can enjoy this prayer, simply because Jesus told us to ask for more Heaven on earth.

I like You exceedingly, Abba, and You cause me have Joy.

How many of us really want more Heaven on earth.

Many, many, many, many, many, many.

In Jesus Christ, we will never give up.

Jesus the God of ALL.

Jesus the God of Elliott, we pray Life and healing.

Jesus, God of Encouragement.

Jesus, Hope and Future.

Jesus the Lord

saves the world

Psalm 113:3 ~ Jesus Thank You

Psalm 113:3
From the rising of the sun, let us praise His Name.
We have had emense technological difficulties with this post. God is Almighty. He is Love and He is good. In hills, He is greater. Jesus saves. Thank you, Jesus. Amen

Acts 9:32-42 ~ Believe in the Lord

We are holding up Elliott Hodges, 45 years old, in prayer. My cousin survived Multiple Myeloma and has lived 45 years in cancer victory. My cousin had a Port put in for meds, and was taken to the ICU for Pneumonia and illness.

Today Elliott is in the hospital. He found out he had this, summer of 2019. It's a painful illness. In so many ways.

This is a time for prayer. And thanksgiving, Dennis is home from a burst gallbladder the Surgeon said was one of the worst he had seen and had attached to his liver. He is home and his blood work shows healing. Lynn is home, they found Lung Cancer but report it was amazingly easy to remove and the other things around this was clear. Hope and rejoicing.

We see ten states are asking us not to feed the birds, but Houston has seen this heal after March to May of this year. The Lord is being called upon and is Working and Advocating for us.

We, Scripture for Today Blogspot, and the communion of local saints, have prayed for Jeremy not to die being hit by a car and looking at spleen and liver failure. Jeremy fully recovered. We prayed for Alisha and cracked skull - also hit by a car and she recovered! We prayed for the Smith's son, Dusty, who was in a car accident and in full brain recovery for years if he lived. Dusty has graduated from college since year of recovery, then all normal life with college. We prayed for Laura Lea Palmer's unborn daughter, again with the Community of Saints, who was unborn and without 2 vital organs. The ultrasound then showed the bud of the organs in her 6th month and the organs grew and the child was born with all good health. God is so very busy. God is Wondrous Love!

Elliott dreamed he would die when he was 42 of Bone Cancer and Pneumonia. Multiple Myeloma is blood and bone cancer. And when he was 42, both illnesses happened. Elliott has lived. And been in incredible physical pain. Elliott stands out in my memory and soul and heart saying, "Jesus lives in my heart and no one will take Jesus from me!"

Elliott and I talked about the Buffalo, Texas angel standing as a real remembrance of Cancer Healing from Jesus. We said if the Buffalo Angel was still there when Elliott turned 42 years old, Elliott would feel God would heal him.

The Buffalo Angel is still there. Elliott remains. Elliott is in the ICU and his wife, Harby, is anxious, apprehensive and worried this is when the Lord must act. My cousin who has survived Multiple Myeloma had this happen several times on his way to recovery. Yet this is so frightening for Harby and Elliott and their three children.

Acts 9:32-42

Now as Peter went here and there among them all, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda. 33 There he found a man named Aeneas, bedridden for eight years, who was paralyzed. 34 And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; rise and make your bed.” And immediately he rose.

 35 And all the residents of Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord. 

 Now there was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which, translated, means Dorcas. (Also translated as "Gazelle".)  She was full of good works and acts of charity. 37 In those days she became ill and died, and when they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room. 38 Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, urging him, “Please come to us without delay.” 

39 So Peter rose and went with them. And when he arrived, they took him to the upper room. All the widows stood beside him weeping and showing tunics and other garments that Dorcas made while she was with them. 

40 But Peter put them all outside, and knelt down and prayed; and turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up. 41 And he gave her his hand and raised her up. Then, calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive. 

42 And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord. 43 And he stayed in Joppa for many days with one Simon, a tanner.

Abba, Father God,

We believe all of Your Promises.

This week our Church read about Tabitha and in Acts, Chapter 9

Tabitha, like Jairus' daughter, Lived.

Jesus and You, our Father, are still working.

Father, Elliott has lived past the age of 42 in faith.

Elliott has lived past Pneumonia. 

Heal Elliott in Your Good Will and Works

His Family Loves Elliott.

My grandmother Bit, her actual name is Augusta Elliott Wilson Anderson Young

and she went by Elliott

and with that connection and the wonderful years, Edward and I worked with Elliott,

we pray every day Elliott will be like all the miracles we know

Jesus is so Lovingly Capable.

And in my heart, I believe Elliott will live.

And I'm standing - here - unless Jesus has other Plans.

But Elliott has lived past 42 years and has lived past Pneumonia.

So Jesus we welcome Your Miraculous Word.

Jesus bless the USA and all the other Nations

who need You so much.

In God we Trust

and dwell secure.

Dwell in us, Jesus,

Help us to place You first.

And all things are under Your Feet.

Thank You, Jesus. Amen.

Isaiah 2:1-5 ~ raised above the hills

 

Almost all people who dream of Heaven and see the Gates of Heaven, fixed into the walls of Heaven = looking into the inside - (Revelation reveals Living Stones of many colors) report the walls of Heaven walking up to Heaven are this color.

The same color as the Temple in Jerusalem. Even the people who did not know this, report this color. The walls of Heaven sit up on a hill. Looking up to walk to the Gates of Heaven.

 

History repeatedly reports a few years after Pandemic,

life begins to improve.

Isaiah could be speaking of this hope as well.

Isaiah 2:1-5

1 This is what Isaiah, son of Amos saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem:

2 In the last days

the mountain of the LORD's temple will be established

as chief among the mountains;

it will be raised above the hills,

and all nations will stream to it.

3 Many peoples will come and say,

"Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,

to the house of the God of Jacob.

He will teach us his ways,

so that we may walk in his paths."

The law will go out from Zion,

the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

4 He will judge between the nations

and will settle disputes for many peoples.

They will beat their swords into plowshares

and their spears into pruning hooks.

Nation will not take up sword against nation,

nor will they train for war anymore.

5 Come, O house of Jacob,

let us walk in the light of the LORD.

When the Bible tells us about Heaven, we just see glimpses. Most people are interested in Heaven. Dwight L. Moody tells of a man who lost a loved one & began to pour over the Scriptures. 

It is a good thing to be able to comfort each other by being able to know what the Scriptures say about Heaven. This passage tells us 'nations' will be taught by the Lord.

Heaven may not have oceans, but water.

God loves Light on the Water. Living. Shining.

1 Corinthians 13:12

12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. 

Now I know in part, 

but then I shall know 

just as I also am known.

1 Corinthians 2: 7-9

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, 

8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; 

for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 

9 But as it is written:

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,

Nor have entered into the heart of man

The things which God has prepared for those 

who love Him.”

Isaiah agrees with the book of Revelation:

Revelation 21:1-4

1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 

2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 

3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 

"Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them.

 They will be His people,

 and God Himself will be with them and be their God. 

4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. 

There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, 

for the old order of things has passed away."

Revelation tells us how many people will be in Heaven and how salvation is given:

Revelations 7: 9-10

After this I looked and there before me 

was a great multitude 

that no one could count,

 from every nation, tribe, people and language, 

standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. 

They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:

"Salvation belongs to our God,

who sits on the throne,

and to the Lamb."

Heaven is walking in the light of God. 

Our Christmas lights are glimpses of the Light. The first chapter of John tells us about Jesus:

John 1:3-9

3 Through Him all things were made;

 without Him nothing was made that has been made. 

4 In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. 

5 The Light shines in the darkness, 

but the darkness has not overcome it.

The Nativity (also known as the Holy Night or as Adoration of the Shepherds) is a painting finished around 1529-1530 by the Italian painter Antonio da Correggio

6 There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. 

9 The true light that gives Light 

to every man 

was coming into the world.

Psalm 97

¹ The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice;

let the many coastlands be glad!

² Clouds and thick darkness are all around him;

righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.

³ Fire goes before him

and burns up his adversaries all around.

⁴ His lightnings light up the world;

the earth sees and trembles.

⁵ The mountains melt like wax before the LORD,

before the Lord of all the earth.

⁶ The heavens proclaim His righteousness,

and all the peoples see His glory.

⁷ All worshipers of images are put to shame,

who make their boast in worthless idols;

worship him, all you gods!

⁸ Zion hears and is glad,

and the daughters of Judah rejoice,

because of your judgments, O LORD.

⁹ For you, O LORD, are most high over all the earth;

You are exalted far above all gods.

¹⁰ O you who love the LORD, hate evil!

He preserves the lives of his saints;

He delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

¹¹ Light is sown for the righteous,

and joy for the upright in heart.

¹² Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous,

and give thanks to His holy name! 

 

Nehemiah 8:10 

for the joy of the Lord 

is your strength.

Abba, our Father,

Teach us to see our Blessings and add to Life. Add in Gratitude. Appreciation. The ability to add to the day in "Give us the Day."

Dwell in us.

Help us to seek You first.

And help us, in Jesus, to finish well.

Bless us to have the ones we Love, add to Your Adventure Today. 

Help them to take Your Blessings and "Give us the Day." 

Enfolded in Your Love. With Gratitude.

Help the Nations Trusting in You to comprehend the height 

and depth of Your Generous Blessings. 

To add Blessings together 

to create more Heaven on earth.

Encourage the Depth of Your Fullness bring Your Beloved, surrounding the Good earth, 

more Heaven on earth. Love, Joy and Peace.

In the Highest Name of Jesus we ask healing of the hurting nations. 

Cuba, Haiti, Germany, South Africa.

The states of the USA seeing a rise in Covid, for more trust, for more vaccinations.

Healing.

Help us to be the people You want to dwell in. 

And in the Highest Name of Jesus, help us to finish Well.

Praying Healing for Elliott.

Thanking Jesus Dennis is out of the hospital. Healing.

Praying for Lynn's good health.

And the birds of our ten states to be healed of their illnesses

as Harris County, Houston, Texas saw birds healing after

March-May of 2021. Thank God!!!

And in this same hope, the Healing and Loving Word of God

for an increase and healing, trust in one another

to see an increase in our Freedoms granted for 245 years in

our families, here in the United States of America.

                                           

With Gratitude, Father God, for the use of my arm and the health already there.

Amen in the Highest Name of Jesus.

We are free to assemble,

worship Jesus Christ

keep hold 

of the deep truths 

of the faith 

with a clear conscience

In God we Trust

and dwell secure.
